Snow laid on the ground like a sparkly cold blanket. Covering up the soil and the grass as the seeds beneath the earth's surface prepared to grow in the warm rays of the Spring's sun. The woods was quiet, except for a few caws of a crow somewhere in the distance. The snow crunched under her warm boots, which sank partially into the snow. Her breath exiting her partly open maw in a cloud of mist. Blond tendrils had somehow began to work themselves out of her fur lined hood of her winter jacket. In her hands, she held a bow, fingers ready and an arrow notched.
Her eyes scanned the snow's surface, looking for tracks. She needed to hunt. Sure, there was other ways she could hunt but she preferred not to make too much of a fuss this close to the Capital. There....she spotted it. Deer tracks. Her eyes grazed upwards towards the direction the tracks were going. Into some dense brush that was now just twigs and other briers. She began to track the animal. Heading through the brush as quietly as she could. This was her first find all day. All the animal's avoided her traps and seemed to have made them scarce for today.
After a moment of following the tracks, the woods cleared out a little bit. The trees weren't so close together now, perhaps there was a little clearing somewhere nearby. A twig snapped and she froze, looking down to see if she was the maker of the sound. No twig under her boot and she breathed a quiet sigh of relief. The deer must be close by. She crept forward towards the sound a few paces and beyond a few trees about 25 yards ahead was a deer. The animal pawed at the snow, digging underneath for any blades of grass hidden under the blanket of powdery snow. She had to get closer. Her eyes never leaving the animal.
She walked forward a few more paces, freezing when the deer would look up. A doe. Satisfied that there was no threat, the doe went back to finding food. The doe walked forward a few steps, into a small clearing. A perfect spot. Mara drew back her bow, aiming carefully. When she was sure she would not miss, she let her arrow fly. And she indeed, did not miss. The arrow struck true, right to the deer's heart. Killing her instantly.
Mara smiled, happy that she made a clean kill and the animal didn't suffer. She walked forward to the deer. "Thank you, dear one. Your death, while unfortunate, will help me survive the Winter. None of you will go to waste. Pass in peace and hold no ill will." she spoke to the deer as she pulled her arrow from the body. Only then, did she look up. It was a cabin there just not to far from where the deer laid. "Odd..." she spoke, cleaning the arrow off a bit before sticking it back into her quiver. Walking forward to the cabin and climbing up the stairs to the deck. "It looks unused for quite sometime...."
She remarked to no one. "It would be a good place for me to stay the Winter..." she reached the door and slid the lock open and pushed the door open. The door creaked almost eerily. The cabin appeared to have been abandoned. Cobwebs adorned a few of the objects. A cold hearth near the center. She stamped her boots outside the door to rid herself of the snow upon them and walked inside. The boards creaked under her as she looked around. Dust lined some of the objects within. "Hasn't been used a long time.....all this dust..." she murmered as she came across a portrait upon the hearth. A gloved hand brushed over the faces of the picture, uncovering faces of a man, a woman and possibly a child? It was hard to tell in little to no light. "I wonder what have happened?" she spoke to herself as the wind from outside made the open door sway more open.

It had been nearly nine months since he was last within the capital and though there were very few changes within the city however none of them seemed interesting, though the tavern remained the same yet Rohan would much rather be under his own roof once again. Fenris Rohan's dire wolf companion walked alongside him as he rode upon the back of his steed Cornell for now he would guide his steed toward the tavern to get some provisions to last him a few months as well as some raw meat for Fenris as it has been a while since he had been given any. After arriving outside of the tavern Rohan lowered himself off the saddle as his dark leather boots planting upon the cobblestone road below from there with Fenris following him Rohan made his way inside the tavern. The last time that he was in Tyran he had a place set up in Wolfridge and for a time it was interesting to be among others like him but like all good things it didn't last very long, though before long Rohan left from Wolfridge and returned to his cabin not long thereafter before leaving Tyran temporarily.
Once inside the tavern Rohan handed his sword to the guard stationed at the door, afterward he and Fenris moved across the room toward the Elven woman who he had seen one time too many as she smiled warmly at him, though she knew who he was yet it had been quite sometime since she had looked upon his face which was partially covered by the hood of the dark cloak that he was wearing "Welcome back." a nod would be given "Thank You." he paused. His arms moving up and his hands pulling the hood back revealing his dark hair and young masculine features as his arms fell back to his sides "What can I get for you Rohan?" she asked. Rohan's right hand reached for the pouch on the right side of his waist taking it in hand and moving the left hand up to open it then reached inside procuring a small handful of gold within his hand then placing them upon the counter, "I need some provisions to last me for a few months." he paused "I also need some raw meat cut into shards for Fenris." he said before looking down to Fenris whose tail was swaying back and forth.
"I need everything delivered to my cabin." he said though the Elven woman nodded lightly while collecting the gold from the counter "I will take care of it Rohan. But is your cabin nearby?" she asked while holding the gold in her hands while her eyes met his, after a moment he smiled "Yes." he paused and nodded his head briefly "It's about twenty minutes west in the forest from here." he said "I will be there to receive them." he added. She looked to him and smiled warmly once more "I will have them delivered to your cabin within the hour." a nod would be given from Rohan to her "Thank you...Eva." he said and after she responded in return he would nod to her one last time, before long Rohan and Fenris moved across the room they stopped long enough so that Rohan collected his sword from the guard before pulling the hood back up over his head and moving outside into the streets of the capital.
Once outside they moved toward Cornell who Rohan climbed back up and after situating himself rode his steed out of city before long he arrived at the forest though the smell of freshly spilled blood lingered in the cool winter air however it was very faint and as they moved through the forest and closer to their destination the scent became stronger, the blood that lingered in the air was neither Human or Beast though he was certain that Fenris had picked up on it as well Rohan's hazel eyes looked down to his companion who instinctively turned to look up at him "It seems that we are not alone." he said and without another word to be spoken Fenris took off. Before long Rohan and Cornell would arrive a few yards just outside of his cabin those hazel eyes drifted toward the cabin but shifted to the dead deer whose blood had soaked into the snow around it his gaze drifted toward the door of the cabin, noticing it open though for how long it had been open he didn't know however Rohan's sense of smell told him that whoever had killed the deer was within his cabin.
Those hazel eyes drifted toward Fenris who black and grey coat had specks of snow within it as he watched him for a few minutes then shifting his form, so as to slide down off the saddle the snow crunching lightly under those dark leather boots as he moved closer to the cabin he moved up onto the porch, the wood creaking lowly under his weight before he moved to the door and stepped inside his dire wolf companion following him in. Rohan noted that nothing within the room had been taken however his gaze turned to Fenris as he moved down the hallway though not long after entering it he stopped momentarily, his ears perked up briefly and before long he produced a low growl and as Rohan followed closely his right hand moved up to take hold of his sword. Removing it from the sheath from there he moved down the hallway Rohan noticed that his bedroom door was slightly open and he could hear someone moving around within it.
After a moment he spoke up his voice while calm was directed toward whoever was within his bedroom "Whoever you are. You are within my cabin." he paused, standing ready with his sword in hand if it came to defending himself. "Drop any weapons that you may have." he said though Rohan would not, drop his guard and neither would Fenris who continued to growl toward his bedroom door. "I would advise that you come out slowly." he added while his hazel eyes continued to look toward his bedroom door.

She had been so engrossed into the portrait she failed to notice that she was no longer alone in the cabin she thought was abandoned. The low growl of a wolf was easily heard. She paused a moment as she carefully set the picture back where she found it. Her thumb lightly grazing upon the face of the unknown child. Her hood was up and her bow was slung over her shoulder as where she had put it after she had killed the deer. A male's voice came and told her to drop her weapons. Yeah, she wasn't going to do that.
Rohan would hear her boot steps slowly approach the door and soon her silhouette would appear within the door frame. "I apologize. I came across this cabin and it looked untouched for a long time. Thought it could provide me shelter for the Winter. I didn't mean to intrude. But I will not drop my weapons, nor do I intend to bring you or your companion any harm." She spoke as she came into the small sliver of light. Reaching her hands up to lower her hood. Revealing her blond tendrils which spilled around her shoulders like a tumbling bundle of straw.
Blue orbs looked upon them. First regarding the large canine next to the man. Studying the creature with almost a fascination or a fondness. It was hard to tell. Then her gaze went to the man, both of their postures was of a "on guard".

Standing at the ready with sword in hand and Fenris resumed facing the door growling at whoever was within the room eventually they heard the sound of boot steps, moving across the floor as Rohan's hazel eyes studied what features that he could see from the woman as well as the bow draped across her shoulder, the woman who looked to be in her early to mid 20s though the smell of blood lingered in the air about her his eyes resumed watching her closely. Though when it looked like she was about to speak his gaze shifted to Fenris "That's enough." he paused watching his companion, who had stopped growling the black and grey dire wolf then turned to face him "Let's hear what she has to say." he added and with that the dire wolf, sat upright watching the woman from several feet away allowing the woman to move out from the door should she choose to do so.
Eventually the woman did speak as she told him that she apologized and that she had come across the cabin which looked untouched, for a long time. Which was true because he had not been within it for quite some time though when she stated that she thought it could provide her shelter for the winter his brow perked, while his hand resumed it's tight grip around the hilt as she told him that she would not drop her weapons she also stated that she didn't mean to intrude and that she had no intention of harming either of them. After a moment those hazel eyes watched the woman as she moved her hands up to lower the hood from her head revealing her blonde hair, which draped over her shoulders the grip upon his sword loosened a little and before long he placed the sword back within the sheath. From there Rohan's arms raised up and his hands moved up to lower the hood from his own cloak, with his arms lowered what she would see upon his hood being lowered was his masculine features and near shoulder length dark brown hair. Those hazel eyes looking upon the woman as he responded "Who are you? and how long have you been here?" he asked with a curious brow.
Afterwards his gaze drifted to Fenris watching his companion as he moved cautiously toward the woman and once he approached his nose lingered about her cloak, though he would only do this long enough to familiarize and take in her scent before he moved and sat upright on the floor a few feet away from her. Fenris' white eyes indicated some form of intelligence as he looked up at her, while Rohan's gaze shifted to look back at the woman awaiting to hear what she had to say in response.

She heard him speak, but chose not to respond right away. As Fenris approached her, she lowered herself down, her left knee resting on the wooden floor. She offered the back of her hand to him so he could get her smell better. She attempted to scratch inbetween his ears but at that moment, Fenris decided to move away from her. She smiled softly to the creature before standing back up to respond to Rohan.
"I wasn't here long. I was hunting that deer outside. I had no idea that this cabin was here until I went to give my thanks to the creature for her sacrifice for my survival. When I entered, I payed respect to what was inside and was merely looking at what adorned this cabin for perhaps ten minutes before you came in." Her hand went up and smoothed a lock behind her right ear. "My name is Mara...and....who might you and your companion be?" she asked with a bit of a curious tone. As she spoke, her crystal blues never left his hazel orbs. Focused upon him as if caught in some sort of web.

Instead of a response Rohan watched as the woman lowered down to one knee in an attempt to interact with Fenris who obviously was interested briefly, though when the woman attempted to scratch the top of his head his companion had already moved away from her it was when the woman stood back up, that she responded to his questions as she told him that she hadn't been there long and that she had been hunting a deer which Rohan had come across outside. However she went on to say that she had no idea of the cabin being there until right after she gave thanks to the deer for it's sacrifice for her survival, the woman stated that when she entered the cabin that she paid respect and was merely looking at the personal effects within it before he arrived.
Hazel eyes watching her as she moved a hand up to brush back a stand of her hair behind her ear and before long the woman introduced herself to him. Although deep in thought once she introduced herself Rohan thought back on how he had once known someone named Mara yet that was so long ago, even before he rescued Fenris or came to Tyran although it was when she asked him of not only who he was but of his companion as well. Though he did not answer her right away as he was still in deep thought yet his eyes caught hers peering into his it was at that moment that Rohan, nodded his head slightly after she had told him who she was and before long he responded to her question "My name is Rohan." he said nodding his head once more. Yet once the nod was given those hazel eyes shifted to Fenris who was still looking upon Mara "This is Fenris." he added.
After a moment of silence he produced another question one that he always asked when meeting someone new "Where did you come from before coming to Tyran?" he asked her simply while raising a brow.

Her focus remained on him. She was soaking in the information he gave her. "Rohan....and Fenris." she nodded her head to them both respectively. "Its nice to meet you." she smiled, moving passed him a moment almost in a pacing movement as he asked about where she came from before Tyran. She suddenly became distant, almost lost in thought. Her eyes moved from him and seemed to dance from side to side as she recalled events in her past.
After a moment or two she seemed to slowly come out of her reverie and turned slowly, her back now facing the door on the other side of the room. But still close to them. "I am from a kingdom named Aerilon. War had destroyed it, I'm afraid there are few or far between us left. We then traveled to Jholton. That was so long ago. So here I am." she chuckled a bit, but it was half hearted. Even the dumbest person could tell that it still pained her.
After a moment or two passed she looked to him. "What about you? Where are you from?"

His eyes remained upon hers for a moment before she responded repeating the names that he had given her and before long she nodded her head to both of them respectively, only to respond that it was nice to meet them he would watch as a smile formed upon her lips as she moved passed him all the while keeping her eyes focused upon his, however Mara's gaze seemed to turn away from him although she did respond eventually telling him that she came from a kingdom called Aerilon. Which had been destroyed by war and she was afraid that there were very few or far between them left though when she mentioned Jholton, a place of which that he was familiar with and that she was now here. Mara mentioning Jholton brought back a memory of when he had lived there long ago with his parents, brothers and sister and for a time they were happy, until tragedy struck when the village was attacked it was there that his father lost his life when he stayed behind with others to defend it.
After she responded Rohan heard a slight chuckle escape her lips he figured that perhaps he had struck a nerve of some sort in asking her such a question, though when she inquired about him Rohan remained silent for a moment as a slight cool breeze lingered through the hallway from the front door which had, remained open the entire time "I think that the front door needs to be closed before it gets any colder in here." he paused allowing his words to trail off. "That is if you don't mind staying?" he added from there he wasted no time in turning and moving back down the hallway Fenris followed behind Rohan who moved back into the living room. Once there Rohan moved to shut the door then after a moment he moved toward the fireplace which hadn't been used since the last winter, he looked to immediate left seeing logs of wood which had collected dust but they were still capable of use while Rohan grabbed a few wooden log and set them in the fireplace.
From there he moved away from it and his arm extended out and his hand opened he looked to the logs he whispered to himself "Ignis." then within a few moments, flames slowly engulfed the logs within the fireplace with that he turned back to face Mara who by now had joined them. "As for where I came from. I lived in Jholton until the age of thirteen." he began, "My father died defending the village with a few others when it was attacked." he paused, "After we left from Jholton my mother brought us to Tyran." he said "However we were only passing through to get some supplies for the remainder of our trip." he added yet continued. "We stayed with my uncle in Valmoren." he paused once again, "Though I eventually found my way here many years later. I ended up getting married to a woman who birth me a son and a daughter." he went silent for a moment and his form shifted so that he looked down into the fireplace to watch the flames within it "If you seen that picture in my bedroom...That was my wife and our children." he paused, "They were killed by beasts slightly over three years ago." he said then after another moment of silence he resumed speaking.
"I met another woman sometime after their deaths." he said yet lowered his head "However we were not together very long." he added and though it pained him, to talk about his family Rohan didn't show it nor did he have to because he figured that Mara knew exactly what he had went through. His form shifted and his hazel eyes peered back at Mara "I've been living here ever since." he paused. "However I only returned recently after being away for nearly a year." he added.

She nodded a moment at the mention of the door closing. "Yes. I'd like to..." After the door was closed and the cold air out, she felt a little warmer. But she looked upon him with surprise as he lit the fireplace with a single word. "Wow...." she smiled as the flames began to crackle at the hearth. Moving over to the fire to warm up a little as she listened to his story. They came from the same town it seemed. She remembered how the town was attacked, she was able to escape but lost contact with her family if there was anyone left they were probably dead by now.
Her smile disappeared as he spoke of how his wife and children died. The picture...was of them and they were gone now. How tragic. "I am...so sorry..." her voice spoke softly as he spoke of his troubles. "It seems....we both had our fair share of strife in our pasts...." her tone was low, but her eyes never left him as she watched his movements. She moved towards him, offering a soft touch to his shoulder in a sympathetic motion. "At least we're here now....to carry on the memories of those we lost." she offered a soft smile.
"A year? That would explain why this cabin was the way it was when I found it. I'm glad that no ill had found this place. There are too many thieves and vandals out in this world today. It would have been a shame if this was lost as well." she paused looking about her. She found a few candles and she made her way to them. Producing her flint and steel, she lit them, adding more light to the darkened room. "Are you...sure I'm not intruding at all?" she asked softly as she slowly began to undo her coat, hanging it on a peg by the door. She was wearing a long sleeved white shirt that tapered down to her lower arm then opened out in a soft flair. The neckline curved down softly just barely passed her collarbone. He could possibly see the edge of her collar-line under her soft fabric. The material seemed warm enough to stave off most of the Winter's chill but still had that feminine fashion look. Almost glittering itself like fallen snow. She smiled softly to him in the glow of the fire and candle light.
"At least there is plenty of meat from that deer outside. Shouldn't take me too long to process her. I'll even make sure that Fenis gets some of the meat. " She offered another smile as she leaned her bow against a small table that was by the door. "If you want, I'll cook a meal as a thank you for not killing me on sight....even if I was an intruder in your cabin." she chuckled softly at her own words, her eyes finding him again.

Hearing her state that she would remain brought a slight smile to his lips as he had turned to look to the flames within the fireplace though it was when he felt, Mara's hand upon his shoulder shortly thereafter that caused the smile to disappear from there he heard her speak telling him that she was sorry, for it seemed they both had their fair share of loss Rohan knew that it was a means of sympathy. It was something that he dealt with for sometime after his father's death although he had pushed through that tragic time, because it was something that his Uncle Marcus had taught him shortly after his sister told him what had happened, though his Uncle was also the one who trained him in using a sword for he was a former soldier but he later resigned to raise a family. His form shifted and those hazel eyes watching her as she moved to light more than a few candles to lighten the room, yet it was when she asked Rohan if he was sure that she wasn't intruding his eyes watching as she unbuttoned, her coat then set it to hang upon the front door taking note of her attire for a moment Rohan wondered where she had acquired such clothing.
He thought that maybe she was part royalty or perhaps even a noble's daughter though this was something that he wouldn't ponder about for too long, as his gaze watched her for a moment more as a smile formed upon her lips in the glow both from the light of the fireplace and the candles. Mara even inquired about there being plenty of meat from the deer outside and that it wouldn't take her very long to process, she would even make sure that Fenris would get some of it a smile formed upon his lips as his gaze shifted to Fenris who was laying, a few feet away from the fireplace his tail wagging slightly as her peered up at them the light of the flames gave off a sort of glow to his eyes. They both watched Mara as she placed her bow against the small table by the door yet when she mentioned about cooking, a meal as a way of thanks for not killing her on sight a slight chuckle escaped from his lips then Rohan shook his head lightly "I wouldn't have killed you." he began "Though I would have asked you to leave. But I don't kill unless it is necessary." he said as his eyes, looked within hers "However if you are staying and if you do want to cook that would be nice." he paused allowing his words to trail off. "We haven't had a home cooked meal in quite sometime." he added.
After a moment he spoke once again "Speaking of food I should have some provisions delivered within the hour." he said then his hazel eyes, shifted to look down to the floor "So tell me how long did you live in Jholton?" he paused for a moment as his eyes lifted to look at Mara. "Did you have any family there?" he asked raising a brow.

She chuckled lightly, hearing he wouldn't kill her from her intruding. "Then you, kind sir, have more intelligence then most others. I've known plenty of people who would kill first then ask questions later." She took a step or two towards him now that the candles were lit. She then listened to his words about accepting her offer for her to cook for him and that they haven't had a good cooked meal in quite a while. "I'd be happy to cook for you. I quite enjoy it and after so many years being alone, I've gotten quite good about it." she smiled proudly at herself for a moment. And the fact that more of provisions would arrive soon made it even better. "Good. Shouldn't take me that long to prepare the deer for us. Should make some good Jerky for later on in the harsher months."
He then spoke of Jholton and her smile slowly disappeared. She remembered the night of the attack forcing many out of the town or killed. "We....arrived into Jholton about six months before....." her words trailed a moment, her eyes kept onto him but if he looked he could see tears briming even though she held them away. "We were settling in, adjusting to life as....well...normal people as we thought. Then the attack...it was like Aerilon all over again..." She paused softly, Her eyes still trained onto him but her body language changed. She was still open to him but it was obvious the memory still pained her. "I escaped...but...I dont know if my family did or not...."
She offered a soft chuckle as she ran the tip of her middle finger under her right eye to dab any moisture she created. "And now I'm here...in this warm, lovely, not so abandoned Cabin with you." she smiled a moment. "What about you? What did you do in Jholton? Did your family escape?" she inquired to him

A chuckle escaped his lips shortly after she told him that he had more intelligence than others and that she had known plenty of people who would rather, kill first then ask questions later "Yes that is true." he began by nodding his head briefly while his hazel eyes gazed upon her, "There are some people out there that are like that." he said adding a light smile to his lips though it was when she told him how she would be happy to cook for him. For she quite enjoyed it and that after so many years of being alone she had gotten quite good at it however it wasn't long after that, when she inquired about the provisions even going as far as to tell him that it wouldn't take her that long to prepare the deer, and that she could make a batch of jerky for later into the next few months "Ah that would be good." a smile formed upon his lips once again. "Fenris loves Jerky." he said looking to Fenris who by now had fell asleep although when his eyes shifted to look back at Mara the smile which adorned her lips, had seemingly, disappeared as she told him of how her family arrived in Jholton although before she could continue Rohan would notice tears.
That had begun to form within her eyes yet she held them back as she told him that they were adjusting to life there as normal people and she spoke, about the attack that happened and of how it was like Aerilon all over again she stated that she escaped from it though she wasn't sure, if her parents did his eyes resumed watching her for when she spoke of Jholton it brought forth pain yet her gaze remained fixed upon his. Though to Rohan it was apparent of the subtle change of her body language as well as the subtle chuckle from her just before she moved, her hand up to wipe away the tears from her right eye though she told him on how she was here within the warm and lovely but not so abandoned, cabin with him which brought forth another smile from her however when she asked about what he did in Jholton and if his family escaped. Rohan's form shifted with his back now to her from there he removed the cloak from his form and placed it upon a small dull hook on the wall, before he moved toward the couch "Well I was born there actually." he began as he lowered himself upon the couch "Although I kept to myself mostly." he began as he lowered, himself upon the couch which set just a few feet away in front of the fireplace those hazel eyes peering upon the flames which danced along the logs.
However the longer that Rohan looked upon the flames it reminded him of the agonizing screams from the townspeople to his father yelling "Selene...Take our children and run. Save yourselves", then with Rohan telling a young girl "We will find one another again. I promise." these thoughts played within his mind however as quickly as they began, they seemed to disappear as he closed his eyes and a sigh escaped from his lips though there was plenty of room on the couch for Mara to join him. "I never really spoke to anyone while I lived there." he said though his words to trail off a moment, his eyes opening to look to the fireplace "Although other than keeping to myself I did play with other children around my age." he said. After a moment a subtle sigh escaped from his lips "However when the attack happened." he paused allowing his words to trail off "My father..." he said, although words came to a slight break in mid sentence "He remained behind to defend the village. While my mother escaped with my brothers, sister and I." he said .
"That would be the last that I saw of my father." he added and with that Rohan lowered his gaze to look down to the floor moisture began to well up within his eyes, though a single tear streamed down his cheek briefly from his right eye then after a moment he moved his right arm up and using only the middle and index fingers, from his hand to wipe it away as well as any remaining moisture before lowering his arm down and laying his hand flat in his lap.

She listened intently to his words. Crystal hues never leaving him. She had watched him turn his back to her for a brief moment as he seemed to be lost in the memory. When he offered her to sit she did, sitting up straight. Proper. Knees together and towards him. Then he seemed to distance himself as he seemed to be recalling more of his memories. she could see the tears weld in his eyes and even began to fall.
She reached up and brushed his tear away after he rubbed most of it off. "That night....will always haunt my dreams. As well as the night that Aerilon....went the same way..." her voice was soft. Her hand lowered from his cheek softly, moving to rest in his hand that laid in his lap. "But...we will always have the good memories too. I remember going to play in the square with the other children the first day we arrived."
She smiled softly, her fingers enclosing around his. "It was the first time I was able to play with other children my age. I was excited and scared. There was a few kids that were cruel. A boy took my doll and broke it....I was so frightened. Then...another boy chased them away...and came to me. We played for a while after that. Became friends..." She smiled softly. "I dont...really remember his name..but...he had the same color eyes you had..." her free hand went to trace his temple. "We lost contact after that night....I hope he made it out alright.."
A moment or two passed, her eyes glanced to Fenris, snoozing away and smiled softly. "I was always afraid to be around animals....I didn't want to hurt them....or hurt others....Sometimes...I lose control..." she blinked and stopped herself from saying more. "Never mind that..." She smiled softly. "Now...."
She patted his hand softly, she had scooted closer to him as she spoke, their knees barely touching now. "What would you like me to make for us to eat first? And after the deer is processed, I can make you something out of the skin. I dont know what yet...."

Not long after he had finished speaking his eyes shifted to Mara who had joined him on the couch his eyes looking over to her as she sat proper with her knees together and toward him. It wasn't long after that when Rohan watched her hand as it reached up then he felt her hand against his cheek only to feel as she wiped away any tears that remained, her hand remained there for a moment as she told him of that night in Jholton and how it would always haunt her dreams as well as Aerilon though her words, were soft but when he felt her hand slowly lowering from his cheek and finally laid against his hand as she stated that they would always have good memories. As she stated that she remembered playing with other children in the square of the village when her family first arrived his hazel eyes looking upon Mara's face, as his gaze took in every feature as he noticed her smile though she would feel his hand tense up slightly though lightened a moment later when Rohan felt her fingers enclosing around his. This feeling brought forth a sort of calmness to his demeanor while she continued telling him that she was excited and scared that she was able to play with, other children her age though she also stated that there were a few kids who were cruel toward her one of the children a boy had even went as far as to take her doll from her and broke it.
It was from that point when Mara stated that she was frightened but that all changed when another boy approached chasing the boy away who had just broken her doll, and not long after that he returned to her where they played for a while after that and became friends a smile formed upon his lips as he looked to her as she stated, that she didn't remember his name yet the boy who had come to her aid had the same color eyes that he had though it her voice was soft. When she said those words Rohan felt her other hand as it moved up then began tracing against his temple as she told him, that she had lost contact had lost contact with him after that fateful night and she hoped that he made it out alright "I am sure that he did...Mara." he said whispering to her. Rohan's eyes remained fixed upon Mara watching as her eyes shifted from him for a moment his eyes taking note of the smile that displayed, upon her lips his eyes watching her gaze as she seemed to be in a sort of mild trance as she told him of how she was always afraid of being, around animals and that she did not want to hurt them or others however it was right after Mara was beginning to state that she would lose control sometimes.
It was within that moment when Mara stated for him to never mind what she had said as she seemed to snap out of the mild trance that she was in as Rohan watched her, a moment and before long she smiled softly then her hand patted against his softly as she moved closer to him Mara's knees lightly touched against his, as she asked him what he would like for her to make them to eat first she then added that she would be able to make him something out of the skin yet she didn't know just yet. Rohan pondered a moment thinking of what she could make them to eat though it had been many years since, he had any kind of deer meat coming out of deep thought he looked within her eyes "How about some Venison?" he began yet his words trailed off, as his eyes drifted toward the fireplace "I would say with some corn, mashed potatoes and something to drink to wash it all down." he laughed lightly. "Although I do not have any of those." he paused allowing his words to trail off. "At least not until those provisions get here. Which I hope is soon." he added with a light smile.

She smiled softly "Well, I have plenty of venison." she chuckled softly as she stood slowly, almost reluctantly to leave his side. "Well, when the supplies come, I'll make you mashed potatoes, Corn and....well...Maybe make a trip to town to pick up something...I dunno.." she smiled some as she went over to put on her jacket.
She kept stealing glances to him as she slowly buttoned up her coat, "How about some good Venison steak. For the three of us. I'm sure Fenris would like that after he's done with his nap." She chuckled softly as she pulled her blond hair free from the coat and fastened it behind her in a pony tail with a leather strip. "Meanwhile...relax...take a bath or...something. I got dinner handled." she smiled more, perhaps a touch of tint upon her cheeks as she moved an unruly lock of hair behind an ear.
After checking to see that her butchering knives were still with her, she opened the door and shivered. "Brr...didn't realize how cold it really was..." she almost said to herself. Then she went out the door and closed it behind her to keep it warm inside. Moving over to the deer she began the careful process of butchering the animal. Cutting the meat and the skin in almost perfect precision. She knew other animals must have smelt the blood, she sure did. Every now and then she had to raise the back of her hand to her nose to help block the smell. Shaking very slightly as she fought to control herself.
"Easy girl..." she told herself

Upon hearing her responses of that there was plenty of venison and the chuckle that soon followed Rohan's hazel eyes watching as Mara slowly stood to her feet from there, she stated that maybe they would make a trip to town to pick up something his eyes looking up to her seeing the smile before she moved to take her coat from the door. After she began putting it on his eyes watching her as she slowly buttoned it up all the while her eyes remained fixed upon him when she mentioned cooking venison steak, and how she was sure that Fenris would like it after taking his nap a light nod would be given while his eyes remained focused watching her as she pulled back, her blonde hair from the inside of her coat and fastened it behind her in a ponytail with a strip of leather when she told him to either relax to take a bath or something, that she would handle dinner "Ok." he said yet his words trailed off momentarily as a smile formed upon his lips while Rohan's eyes remained fixed for a few minutes.
Watching Mara as she moved a lock of blonde hair which she moved behind her ear then after a moment she moved reached out and just as soon as she opened the door, a breeze of cool air flowing through the door a chuckle escaped his lips as she tensed up at the door and before long Mara walked out closing the door, behind her after a moment Rohan began speaking to himself although in a whispered tone while his eyes shifted to look to the fireplace watching the flames within. "It couldn't be her." he said "I'm not so sure if she is the same girl, whom I used to know long ago." he paused a moment then stood to his feet and moved, from the couch to the fireplace "Although the way that she kept looking at me and the way that she touched me. It could possibly be her." his eyes lowered to look down, then to the right for the fire poker which he reached down to grab from there Rohan lowered himself down to one knee began tending to the logs. First he used the fire poker to move around the logs before he reached over to grab one log with his free hand and tossed it in and then, reached over for another log which he tossed within as well "I would ask her...But I don't think I should." he paused allowing his words to trail off while setting the poker, against the wall where he had found it "Even if I were to ask her about that night." he paused once more. "It may do more harm than good." he added.
After a moment Rohan raised off his knee and stood to his full height once again "I think I will go out and keep her company." he said then walked over toward the wall, from his right and reached down to grab his sheathed sword which he had placed against the wall earlier as he quickly went about setting and strapping it, to the left side of his waist from there he grabbed his cloak and put it on as well with the cloak on his hands moved up to pull the hood over his head. From there his boots carried him across the room toward the door his hand reaching down to grasp then turn the handle, then pulled the door toward him all in one motion and he felt the light sting of the cold air as it flowed through the door his boots carried outside as he, reached back with his hand to pull the door closed from there his hazel eyes shifted and looked over in Mara's general direction as he moved from the door.
Rohan's boots stepping off from the porch and touching down upon the snow which crunched underneath him as he started moving toward her. "Need a hand Mara?" he asked as she worked on cutting the deer.

She already had the deer hanging by her back legs in a nearby tree when he came out, A long cut line down the stomach of the deer as well as most of the entrails out when he came out to her. She smiled, turning to him, her hands covered in blood. "I would like that....very much." she smiled softly as she dropped the entrails onto some branches from an evergreen tree.
Pausing a moment she reached to run her hands in the snow. "Thought I could make some sausages out of these. After the offal is cleaned of course." she smiled with a chuckle. "What would you like?" she asked after a moment before going to skin the deer now, peeling the flesh easily as if she were striping a piece of clothing.
The entire time she spoke, it seemed she was shaking, the smell of the blood was strong. She was fighting control over something, it was obvious. But she didnt want him to worry. Not him.

Dark leather boots stopped just a few feet behind Mara as Rohan's hazel eyes watched her as she cut up the deer which was hanging upside down on the branch, of a nearby tree the smell of blood lingered in the air although the smell wasn't as strong as it was before his eyes continued watching as she cut a line down, the deers stomach as he continued watching her work on the deer and before long she spoke telling him that she would like for him to help her. Rohan moved slightly closer as those hazel eyes watched her as she moved bloodied hands to grab then drop some more entrails, onto the branches of another tree while he stood there and continued watching her wondering what she would have him do and as he thought this, Rohan's hazel eyes watched her a moment as she moved her hands down into the snow cleaning the blood from them as she stated, that she could make sausages out the entrails Rohan turned his head seeing her smile then heard her chuckle soon after.
Not long after the chuckle she asked him what would he like then after a moment his eyes resumed watching her curiously for it was, either too cold for Mara or perhaps she was fighting against something this was evident when there was a momentary breaks in her words despite that, Rohan considered on the fact that she may have just asked him to clean the entrails of the deer. However what Mara did not realize is that he had never done that sort of thing before "Well." he paused, "I've never cleaned the entrails of a deer before." he paused as a chuckle escaped his lips momentarily while his hazel eyes peered over toward the entrails, hanging from the branch "As a matter of fact. I was never even taught how to clean entrails before." he said before he turned his head.
Those hazel eyes looked toward her "But I guess I could try." he added then before long his eyes watched as her hands began stripping away at the deer's flesh, then after a moment Rohan's hazel eyes shifted to look back within hers a brow curiously raised yet his eyes remained, fixed upon hers "That is...If it is easy to do?" he asked as a light smile formed upon his lips.

She smiled to him, the distraction of talking to him was helping and he would be able to see her go at ease a little bit. He told her that he never learned how to process a deer like this. Crystal orbs looking to his Hazel. Something so familiar hung in those eyes, but it was something she couldn't quite figure out.
"Its not that hard, Just need to clear the intestines of any solid matter that may be in there." She walked over to him, holding the entrails in her hands.
"See, all this stuff needs to be cleaned out, and we'll need to get some water and run them through to help clean," She looked to him as she instructed him. "Its not very hard, just a bit time consuming. But when these are all clean, any scrap of the deer or any other meat we get can get ground up with some herbs into some nice sausage." Her hands now coated in blood and gore with the intestines.
"If not then....I guess you can help me butcher the deer into what cuts we can preserve for later."

Hazel eyes looking to her a moment while waiting on a response which came shortly after when she came toward him with the entrails from the deer, as she told him that it wasn't hard and that they need to be cleared of anything solid within them Rohan's eyes peering down to the entrails, within her hands as she explained that water would need to be ran through them to quicken the cleaning process from there Mara told him. That it was not very hard just a little time consuming and that once they were all clean any scraps of meat remaining from the deer, could be grounded up with herbs for the sausage after hearing Mara explain to him on what to do with the entrails Rohan looked, not to be interested as he figured that she would be better at cleaning them than he would however it was when she told him. That if he wasn't up to doing that he could help her in butchering the deer into what they could, preserve for later a nod would be given as it seemed that Rohan was highly interested in doing that and it sounded much more simple, than the process that it would take for cleaning the entrails "I think that I will leave the cleaning of entrails to you." he said.
"Because it looks like you know what to do with them better." he paused to chuckle for a moment then smiled briefly as he turned his head and gaze, from her a moment seeing Cornell who was roaming about on the left side of the cabin his head and gaze turned back to her, as Rohan's hazel eyes peered within crystal blue ones "As for cutting up the deer. I can help you with that." he paused. Allowing his words to trail off a moment "It seems much more simple." he said adding another mild chuckle, then another light smile perked upon his lips as Rohan moved over toward the deer. Once he stood before it he then lowered himself down to one knee from there he turned, to look to Mara the smile ever present on his lips as he reached his hand out for her to hand him a cutting tool to use and once Rohan, had the cutting tool in hand he began using it on the deer while hazel eyes remained fixed as he used the tool cutting into areas that Mara had not cut into.
After a few minutes small strips of meat and muscle was pulled out from the deer with his free hand and placed onto the snow below.
Far on the opposite end of the forest a dozen armed men on foot moved through the forest each one clad in dark matching leather armor with a single small silver hand, adorning the upper right side as each one of these men carried either a single weapon or more than one weapon with them, some were swords while others were either a crossbow loaded with silver tipped bolts or armed with silver coated daggers. This group specialized in hunting beasts though they hunted and killed beasts of a specific kind for it was these men, that they had heard from their captain that a beast man lived alone in the forest though it took two scouts three days, to locate the cabin but their scouts returned shortly after to tell them that their intended target was no where to be found.
Though that was a few month ago however they heard very recently from another scout that a beast man had recently returned to Tyran and while walking, through the forest these men were not too far from the cabin yet after more than an hour of walking the cabin came into view, however they kept their distance more than several yards away so as not to be seen though far enough of a distance. So that they could see and watched what seemed to be two people cutting up a deer.
Rohan resumed cutting up the deer and though his eyes remained fixed upon the work at hand other areas of his body seemed to be at work themselves, as the cutting tool in Rohan's hand stopped cutting the deer suddenly as he closed his eyes as he closed his mouth as he took in, a breath through his nose though at the same time Rohan had this odd feeling that they were being watched as the scent that he had picked up on. Other than that of Mara's was something that he was not all too familiar with as his ears picked up the sounds of twigs breaking, within the forest far from where they stood though the sounds grew closer and Rohan's grip loosened from the cutting tool. Which dropped out from his hand and down onto the snow below.
"Mara..." he paused allowing his words to trail off "We are not alone." he said as he shifted his form while those hazel eyes would see what looked like, a dozen men each one wearing matching attire and armed with various weapons the man in the center with a sword spoke up. "Ah. There you are." a smile adorned the man's lips as well as the others as each one unsheathed, their weapons while others aimed silver tipped bolts at both Rohan and Mara while taking note that they were both armed with weapons themselves. "Make this easy for us and drop your weapons." after the leader of this group spoke Rohan shifted his gaze to Mara "They outnumber us Mara." he paused, allowing his words to trail off "We have no choice but to do what they say." he said then after a moment he took in a breath then another and another, as his light breathing becoming slightly heavy as his right hand moved down to unstrap the harness from the sheathed sword as he moved it from his waist.
Within a moment he lowered it and allowed it to drop to the ground below though while this was going on Rohan's left eye which Mara would not be able, to see as she would be standing on his right side his eye slowly started to change from it's hazel color to a golden yellow.
While his heavy breathing continued.

She smiled listening to his disinterest in the cleaning of the entrails. "Its alright." She spoke with a chuckle. She handed him the cutting tool when asked, her hands still coated in the blood. She worked, squeezing the insides out onto the snow very delicately, dropping the deer's droppings onto the white snow. She watched as he cut the deer with eases. Smiling. But he wasn't the only one on the edge.
She too, heard the twigs snap. "Mara..." "We are not alone." He said. It only confirmed it. She nodded and stood up, still holding the entrails in her hands. Shaking now as she fought to keep herself under control. Sweat beginning to bead on her forehead. Then the men came out of the woods. She could smell them, and they stunk. "Ah there you are." The man said and spoke to drop their weapons. She grimaced, almost growled.
She looked to Rohan as he spoke, "They outnumber us Mara." he paused, allowing his words to trail off "We have no choice but to do what they say." And he dropped the knife. She did too, reluctantly. He was right. "Rohan...." she murmered, her voice cracked a moment. She saw his breathing, unknowingly, hers was matching his breath. Her chest rising and falling.
"What do you want with us?" She spoke to the man. "We're not doing anything to anyone. J..Just leave us be!" She said with a grimace as if in pain. She was finding it very hard to keep composure. She wouldn't last much longer in keeping herself in check. Especially now that the danger is very high.

The band of men watched as the man and woman hesitantly unarmed themselves of their weapons and dropping them on the snowy ground below, however not long after the leader heard the woman as she asked them what they wanted with them then within a moment, the man with the sword looked between each of his men standing on each side of him then he looked back at her. A laugh soon followed while the other men also joined in with laughs of their own which lasted for a few moments then ended, as quickly as they had began a moment past before he returned, his attention back to the two before them "With both of you." he paused to laugh briefly then shook his head lightly. While his eyes looked directly toward the woman "No my dear. We don't want both of you." he said then turned his attention, toward the man at her side "We only want to kill the beast." he added murderous intent lingered within his gaze. As he pointed his sword toward Rohan.
While hearing the exchange between Mara and the leader from the band of hunters who stood before them Rohan continued breathing heavy while his right eye changed, into the same golden yellow in the same exact manner as his left and if Mara was to look she would notice the change in color of his eyes as he turned, his head to look to her for a moment before looking back to the group of men the bones within his body began popping as his hands tensed up as his height and body, began to increase in size while clothing began to rip and tear as Rohan's hands which by now had moved up. As each hand set on each side of his head though coarse dark brown hair had grown on the base of his hands and knuckles, claws slowly began to grow from his fingernails and finally protruded replacing them entirely and before long Rohan collapsed onto one knee. However it was when he collapsed onto the other that screams of pain erupted from his mouth, as his bones continued popping though within moments the screams turned into animalistic growls as his clothing ripped and tore much quicker now as his body continued, growing though by now dark brown hair had taken over his entire form as his head began to transform to that of a wolf the men before them would see the horror unfolding.
All the men could do was watch as the man had fully transformed into the beast that they were looking for though the beast that was once Rohan now stood, to it's full height the remnants of tattered clothing falling from the beasts towering form though the beast paid no attention to the woman standing, at it's side though the beasts golden yellow eyes were now fixed intently upon the armed men as a growl erupted from the beast. Before it lowered itself then began moving swiftly toward the men as silver tipped bolts were fired from the crossbows which the beast, swiftly evaded though some of them had found their mark piercing the beasts right shoulder and massive right thigh causing it growl, even more though the beast continued moving and once the beast was close enough he leapt at the leader causing the men around him to scatter.
As the large beast took the leader down to the ground though before it could deal a death blow more silver tipped bolts were quickly loaded and fired, from the crossbows at the beast who growled in pain after feeling the bolts pierce his flesh the beast quickly turned it's focus from the leader, to the men with crossbows as he swiftly rushed toward them the leader quickly scrambled up to his feet as his eyes watched as the beast rushed away from him. As the towering beast moved toward and tackled two crossbow men taking them both down to the ground, at the same time from there each clawed hand of the beast swatted the crossbows from their hands and then swiftly reached down to grab a hold of both them, by their heads then using it's beastial strength the beast crushed their heads together like a melon as blood sprayed forth shortly after the heads collided together.
After a moment the beast tossed both corpses to the side then it moved on to attack the other men that had remained though they had by now, joined with their leader who was now attacking the beast with his silver sword the beast growled loudly after the the silver sword cut into his flesh. While the remaining men moved in to surround and attack the beast.

Her eyes widened at the laughter the men emitted. "With both of you." he paused to laugh briefly then shook his head lightly. While his eyes looked directly toward the woman "No my dear. We don't want both of you." he said then turned his attention, toward the man at her side "We only want to kill the beast." he added murderous intent lingered within his gaze. As he pointed his sword toward Rohan. "What?! Kill the Beast? He's not a Beast!" she growled as the men began to encircle them. "You will not harm...." She had just caught Rohan's eyes. They were different now. A golden hue, no longer his lovely hazel. "Rohan?" she questioned softly, concerned.
Then Rohan went through his change. She gasped, unaware of what he had been. But she was not afraid. She watched as he attacked the men, heard his pain. "Rohan!" she shouted. Then too, she began to cry out in pain as her own bones snapped and moved. She grew taller like him. Her clothes began to rip and shred, all except her shirt which grew with her and changed along with her. White fur sprouted from her skin, covering her body as her piercing Golden stared at the men who dared to harm him. Nails became claws. She growled in menacing as she charged at the men who now had him surrounded. Tearing at them as if they were nothing.
She was wild. She felt the stabs from the silver tipped arrows and blades. All the while it hurt her, she didn't even flinch. They were hurting him. She would NOT allow that. She roared in anger at the men and stood protectively over Rohan. She would not stop until every last man that was a threat had spilled his red blood upon the white snow.

While the battle was raging on outside Fenris woke up with a start from his short nap though not long after he woke up his nose lingered along the floor as he moved, a few feet away from the fireplace and where he had fallen asleep before long the scent stopped at the front door of the cabin but continued outside, however as his nose lowered down to the crack underneath the door he smelled other scents that he was not familiar with his head raised up from the door. As he heard yelling and screaming outside Fenris quickly began pacing about back and forth in front of the door he stopped then, looked up and over to the window not too far from the door and quickly made his way to it upon approaching the window Fenris raised up on his hind legs, as his body leaned against the window his eyes peering outside and within a moment would see a battle unfolding outside.
Fenris' eyes would see ten men armed with different types of weapons all wearing the same type of attire from there he would see two bipedal wolves, one with dark brown and the other one with white hair he whimpered momentarily before he paused and quickly moved a few feet, from the window then after backing up close to the wall Fenris sprinted toward the window and just before he got within a few feet from it he jumped up. The dire wolf would come crashing through the window and his paws landing upon the snow which crunched underneath him, from there Fenris wasted no time as he quickly sprinted toward the men while growling as he sprinted toward one of the men that surrounded, the large beast with dark hair this one carrying a crossbow who turned upon hearing and seeing the dire wolf sprinting toward him. Though it was far too late as Fenris plowed into him knocking him, to the ground and the crossbow flying out from his hands as the crossbow landed in the snow.
Then just as quickly as Fenris took down crossbow man he now stood over him and before long he lunged down as his teeth quickly tearing, into the flesh turning white snow red as he mauled the crossbow man from there he moved onto, another man running into him like the last knocking his weapon from his hand though when Fenris knocked him down. He wasted no time in lunging down to snap his teeth at the man's throat tearing it open effectively taking out, two more of the crossbow men though only one crossbow man remained as the men who remained made no effort to approach, the dire wolf who had mauled two of their crossbow men in quick succession yet they were only interested in killing the two beasts that they surrounded.
The beast that was once Rohan began breathing heavy as the silver tipped bolts that were lodged into it's shoulder and thigh were beginning to slow, the beast down though not enough to take it out from the fight when another beast with white hair joined it's side as the dark haired beast, lunged out with it's claws at the men that surrounded them however instead of his claws finding flesh the massive hands swatted at the weapons. That the men held this attack caused one of the hunters to stagger back slightly giving the beast an opening to swipe it's claws at his throat the claws causing blood to flow like water, from the hunters throat and the form of the hunter dropping where he stood. The beast took this moment to look around while growling, while taking note that there were now seven hunters that remained up until a dire wolf came out of nowhere to leap at one of the seven hunters. Who was knocked down to the ground though the hunter briefly fought against the dire wolf, on top of him before he met a similar fate as his fellow hunters before him as the dire wolf tore into his throat.
Now that there was a momentary opening the dark haired beast rushed toward two of the nearest hunters grabbing one of them by the throat with one of, it's massive clawed hands then throwing him with such force and velocity that the hunter's neck broke instantly when he smacked hard, into a nearby tree from there the dark haired beast took out the other hunter that had followed as he turned around to engage him. He moved his massive arm back and then forward as it's massive clawed hand found it's mark, the moment that it moved it forward with such strength that it's sharp claws burrowed into the hunter's face and through, the back of his head blood sprayed out then spilled with chunks of bloody brain matter which crumbled out from the back of the hunter's skull.
Blood spilling and brain matter crumbling down into the snow below just before the hunter's body collapsed to the ground below though once the dark, haired beast pulled it's massive clawed hand back from the hunter's skull as his body collapsed to the ground below then after a moment, the dark haired beast shifted his form to turn back as his golden yellow gaze peered upon the four remaining hunters.

Blood dripped from her maw, staining her fur around her lips just like it had stained the snow below. Seven men were left, but she didn't care. Her ear turned, hearing the shattering of glass as the dire wolf came to join the fray. His scent familiar....but she did not harm him. The momentary lapse of concentration earned her a strike to her leg which caused her to yelp in pain and stumble. But she recovered fast, turning to her attacker and popping his head from his shoulders like a pimple. Six.
She limped over to two men, holding crossbows. They saw her near and loosed two bolts from their crossbows. One was way wide and embeded itself into the bark of a tree. The other struck her shoulder, jutting out from her flesh as if she were part porcupine. She felt the pain, yes but she kept coming. The men screamed as her claws grabbed both of them in each hand and slammed them together, over and over again into each of their heads just like they were Cymbals. Then dropped them with a sickening thud. Five....Four.
She growled, snarling as she turned on her heal, a few feet from where Rohan was and now Fenris. Her golden hues burning with the desire to kill those who harmed. Her adrenaline running high.

The smell of blood lingered in the air and coated parts of the white snow as the dark haired beast's golden gaze shifted slightly taking note of the white haired beast, standing at it's left side then shifted it's gaze again noticing the dire wolf standing to it's right from there it's gaze then looked in front of them noticing the four remaining hunters, who stood more than several feet from them though the beast was beginning to breath slightly more heavy while the four hunters began moving toward them. Fenris growled and before long he sprinted toward one of the two hunters with long daggers who had broken off from the other hunters, to meet the dire animal though once the hunter was within close proximity the dire wolf leaped up at the hunter and took him down to the ground, though the hunter resisted the dire animal's attacks long enough to move one of his daggers up to swiftly cut into the dire animal's side a few times. Before his throat was torn open by the dire animal as the hunter died within moments choking on his own blood which gushed from his mouth and the open wound.
The three remaining hunters moved toward the two beasts though the dark haired beast growled momentarily before it moved to break away, from the white haired beast yet this was a means of separating the remaining hunters from one another which seemed to work as the leader, and the long dagger carrying hunter moved toward the dark haired beast while the last hunter with the sword moved toward the other beast. Once the two hunters were lured away far enough from the dire wolf and the other beast the dark haired beast wasted no time in moving swiftly, on all fours closing the distance between itself and the long dagger hunter who it ran into, causing him to be thrown back with such velocity, that the hunter slammed hard and his body slumped down against the tree moments later. Though between the force of being plowed into from the beast and slamming into the tree caused the hunter's neck to break instantly upon impact.
While the dark haired beast was distracted the leader moved silently with sword in hand then swiftly moved toward the dark haired beast to run the beast through, which caused the beast to growl in pain as the silver tipped sword pierced into it's flesh causing the wound to burn as the tip of the blade jutted out from his chest, though it missed it's heart by a few inches as the dark haired beast shifted it's form and it's golden eyes stared down the leader who backed far away from the beast. Who by now was moving toward him though after a few steps the beasts breathing quickly became shallow and before long, the dark haired beast collapsed to one knee then the other before falling flat upon the ground though the beast continued breathing yet each breath, was becoming slower by the minute then after a moment it stopped altogether the leader thinking that the beast was dead removed another sword. Though this sword was slightly shorter than the previous while a grin formed upon the lead hunters face.
After a moment he began moving toward the dark haired beast as the hunter's goal was to deal the finishing blow to the beast.

Air was drawn deeply as she dropped the corpses of the men she killed. White fur standing on end as she snarled, looking around. She heard Rohan's distress and immediately looked to where he was. There was one left. Her ears went back as she saw his silver tipped blade pierce his chest, barely missing his heart. She felt the ire build up as she charged. A noise emitted from her mouth louder than she had ever bellowed before and before the guy knew it, she had ripped him off of Rohan and was literally tearing him apart.
After a moment or two, the battle was done....the men who wished them harm now were slain. She panted in quick draws. The adrenaline beginning to wear off now that the danger was over. She was beginning to feel the burning pain of the silver tipped arrows embedding down into her flesh. She turned looking to Rohan's still form. She whimpered as she moved closer to him.
Her fur began to receed...she was changing back. She cried out in pain as her bones snapped and moved back to more of a humanoid form. "Ro....Rohan..." she weakly spoke before passing out just about a foot away from him, face down into the snow. Her hand outstretched towards him. Her top was intact, somehow. It had the ability to change with her. Her other clothing, however, was not as fortunate. Arrows were pinpointed in various places along her back and shoulders as well as other wounds she gathered in the battle.

A few minutes would pass and the beast's golden eyes opened it's vision blurred yet cleared after a moment while it had began breathing once more, yet each breath was shallow as the dark haired beast slowly struggled to rise from the ground after a moment the dark haired beast finally made it to it's feet, although it staggered with each step it took after a moment the dark haired beast collapsed to one knee and it's golden eyes closed. While it's bones began popping and shifting as the dark hair aligning it's entire form and the claws upon it's fingertips began to revert back, within it's form then after a few minutes it's form had reverted back into it's former as Rohan was now himself once again his hazel eyes, opening and he looked down to the sword tip jutting out of his chest, the silver tip burning his flesh the more he moved. He looked slightly to his right and then down to see Mara laying upon the snow though not fully clothed. "Mara..." he said allowing his words to trail off.
Before he shifted his eyes to see Fenris who approached him with a cloak that he had taken off from one of the hunters Rohan's hazel eyes would look, upon his companions worried gaze "I am alright...I'm just very sore." he began yet winced in pain as he continued to look upon his companion, "I need your help to remove the sword." he paused. "Can you do that for me?" he asked then after a moment the dire wolf looked within his eyes and then looked down to see, the tip of a sword jutting from Rohan's chest a single bark would come from Fenris then after a moment he quickly moved behind Rohan to find, the opposite end of the sword from there the dire wolf's powerful jaws clamped down upon the hilt as the dire wolf began moving back. Rohan could feel the blade of the sword slowly pulling back from his flesh, while he used his hands to pull the crossbow bolts from his thigh and shoulder before long the sword was removed from his form, then not long after the sword's removal the wounds upon his body began to heal as Rohan staggered up to his feet.
While taking the cloak from Fenris and wrapped it around his nude form then after a moment he moved over to collect his sword that he had dropped earlier, from the ground before moving to Mara who was laying face down within the snow and he wasted no time in lowering down to one knee, from there he began to pull out the bolts from her back and shoulders and once he was finished Rohan lifted her up from the snow and within his arms. From there he lifted her form up and onto his left shoulder while his left arm moved up to support Mara's form then after a moment, he stood to his full height once again and began moving toward the cabin Rohan's hazel eyes looked around to the bodies and blood littered, upon the snow as he continued walking toward the cabin while the snow crunched underneath his feet "We have to get rid of the bodies." he paused. As he stopped long enough to look to Fenris "But for now that can wait." he said.
Once he came upon the cabin and stepped up onto the porch and upon reaching the door Rohan reached his right arm out as his right hand took hold, of the handle which he turned while pushing open the door from there Fenris followed behind Rohan who had made his way inside right after, the door was closed behind them then moments later Rohan's head turned as his hazel eyes shifted toward the broken window to which he shook his head. Luckily he remembered that there was a large piece of wood along with nails and a hammer located at the back of the cabin that could be, used to patch up the window even though it wouldn't take long to do yet Rohan would need help in holding the wood up so that the nails could be, hammered in however like the bodies outside the window would have to wait as well then not long after Fenris remained behind in the living room.
While Rohan moved with Mara down the hallway and into the bedroom and upon entering it he closed the door then moved toward the bed lowering her, onto it yet his right arm had remained against her back as he moved his left arm up and his hand removed the tattered top from her form placing it, upon the dresser which was nearby as Rohan's gaze returned to quickly take note of her fully nude form. Then within moments he pulled the cloak from his own nude form placing it over her nude form after a moment, he moved toward a door at the opposite end of the bedroom then after a few minutes he would emerge fully clothed from there, he took one look at Mara as a smile touched upon his lips then he quietly moved toward the door opening it and moving out into the hallway. Closing the bedroom door behind him Rohan made his way to the front door stopping in the living room long enough, to tell Fenris "Stay with Mara." before he opened the door and moved to the outside of the cabin which he walked away from to collect his sword.
Which he had strapped upon his waist once again from there Rohan moved to collect Mara's bow and quiver of arrows moving to place them upon the porch, not long after that he went about moving the bodies of the hunters then after more than thirty minutes all of the bodies were moved to a clearing, more than a few minutes away from the cabin it would be there that the corpses were laid atop one another in a pile as Rohan stood before them. His arms moved up in front of him as his hazel eyes closed to concentrate upon the corpses and then not long after Rohan opened, his eyes to look upon the remains of the hunters once again then he whispered to himself "Ignis." though this word was used once before, to ignite the logs within the fireplace in the cabin although this time when he spoke a few campfire sized fireballs launched from his hands. Setting the remains of the hunters corpses on fire.
Shortly after setting them alight Rohan would remain there long enough so that the flames would burn the corpses down to bones yet before long, he would return to the cabin as he had left the remains of the hunters behind for the wolves to scavenge.

It all felt like a dream. She was there...but wasn't. She heard his voice call to her. "Mara..." It sounded so distant. She wanted to open her eyes...but she couldn't. She could feel his arms lifting her up. Carrying her.
Sometime later, she shot up in bed with a gasp. "Rohan!" She blinked looking around. It was safe. She was safe...He was safe. She took a moment, running a hand through her tangled mess of hair. Moving the cloak around her naked form and tucking it around her as if it was a towel. Her body hurt. Her wounds would take longer to heal than normal, thanks to the silver it was made from. Fenris looked to her, concerned. He stayed by her side. And she smiled. Looking down to the creature as her hand reached down and stroked his head.
Standing she looked around. She smelt burning flesh. Her nose wrinkled as she moved from the bedroom towards the front room. The cold air coming from the broken window made her gasp, freezing in midstep for a moment from the shock. She waited a moment before moving forward, barefeet padding along as she reached forward to open the door. She saw him. Standing there watching the corpses burn. A soft smile appeared upon her face seeing that he was okay. "Rohan..." she smiled to him. Fenris moved passed her, trotting to Rohan as if he was happy he was okay as well. She chuckled watching them with happiness in her eyes.
It was cold there clad in just the cloak, but she didn't care. They survived.

Upon closely approaching the cabin he looked up to see Fenris running out from the open front door though his hazel eyes would also look up, to see Mara standing within it although he also took note that she still had the hunters cloak draped about her form a smile formed upon his lips, as Fenris playfully leaped up to stand on his hind legs as the dire wolf's tail swayed back and forth wildly all while he leaned against Rohan whose arms moved up. Rohan's left hand calmly ran along the side of his Fenris's head while the right hand moved up and down along his side however Fenris's tailed, stopped swaying when he felt Rohan's hand stop at his side a whimper escaped from him though it was at that moment when Rohan felt, a warm fluid upon his hand that he seemed to stop petting his side as his right arm moved up and his hazel eyes taking note of the blood. The smile quickly disappeared as he looked to the blood that now coated his hand "What happened?" he asked in a whisper tone.
A brow perked though it took him a few moments to remember that they were attacked by hunters yet he quickly pieced it together that one of them, had cut Fenris when he had come to their aid Rohan's eyes peered down to look within Fenris's eyes as his blood coated hand moved down, hovering just over the wound as a mild golden aura emanated from it then after a moment he began moving his hand along his side again. The wound having been healed by Rohan's hand as those hazel eyes shifted up to look up toward Mara the smile appearing upon his lips, "Alright that is enough Fenris." he said just before the dire wolf pushed off, from Rohan and lowered himself back to the ground from there, the dire wolf moved back onto the porch and then made his way back through the door and plopped down in front the fireplace his tail swaying mildly. Before long Rohan lowered himself down to one knee his hands dipping into the snow washing the blood off from them.
From there Rohan raised to his full height once again and then moved and stepped up onto the porch though just as he approached the door that was when, he made his move a smile formed upon his lips as he closed the distance between himself and Mara their forms ever so close his right arm moved up, then around her form his right hand resting against her lower back as Rohan pulled Mara against him those hazel eyes fixed and staring deep within hers. Rohan's left arm moved up and his hand brushing back a strand of blonde hair from Mara's face and then lowered to her cheek, remaining there long enough to caress it then after a moment Rohan's hand dropped from her face and his left arm wrapped around, her body to meet with the other arm as the smile disappeared from his lips just long enough for him to speak "I remember promising a girl no younger than thirteen." he began.
"I had promised her that we would find one another again." he said "Although it took a long time." he paused allowing his words to trail off though his thoughts, lingered as his eyes continued looking within hers "I believe that I have kept that promise." he said as the smile formed though instead of saying, anything more Rohan leaned forward pressing his lips passionately upon hers then after a few moments Rohan would break away from the kiss.
Although he kept his arms around Mara yet Rohan's hazel eyes remained fixed upon hers while another smile formed upon his lips once more. "Wouldn't you say Mara?" he added with a raised brow while his hands moved slowly along her back.
