The last gift would be to the queen. While she was still in love with the queen. Maggie understood her boundaries but still considered Laelia a friend and mentor despite that fact that she was her mentor.
Dear Queen General Kaliba,
I know this is extremely out of order to write you a letter, I still consider you a friend and mentor. And would like to keep writing to you under this pretense if you would allow it.
The rest of the letter was mostly about Maggie and her experiences with the people the way things smelled, tasted all the amazing buildings and animals she had seen. the culture in general. How different it was from everything she had ever known. The letter was written not as a soldier but in such a way that the queen was a special part of maggies life. Like a mother would receive from her child.
Laelia would also receive a small painted picture of Maggie with the two under command all in their uniform standing by a large and fast-moving river, traditional feluccas behind them. With river crops and homes and wildlife. And past the river and grassland. Large swaths of the dune. The painting was of medium quality. So it lacked finate detail but it was enough one could see it Maggie. And the story of the picture was quite clear.

Once Maggie got done with her leave off base. Sending the letters and pictures home. She had to return to her work. Which was getting as much intel as she could from all the tribes that went to the capital? Maggie was smart about it. She had studied the language intensively she could understand it quite well. She couldn't speak it as fluently. She could almost understand every word. The trick was she acted like she didn't. So when. The native people came up to speak to her a lot of times she acted like she didn't understand what they were saying. The tribal leaders were wary of this new faces in their land. Much more so than, the courts. The diplomats had done a good job of reassuring that we were only here to set up the trade routes safely and the safety of the merchants.
She heard a lot more than normally a person would because of her little trick and the natives felt free to use speak clearly with each other. She has heard what they thought about Tyrans presence honestly. And what the people thought if their government honestly. During these times Maggie learned they were having small meetings. Meetings that mentioned words like a revolution. She standing at her place walking a merchant around. As he talked to different traders and set up deals and so forth. She had learned where this meeting would take place

As she slipped in and sat near the door the speaker to her surprise was the face changing. The group was small but composed of middle and lower class men and women. He spoke of the privileges of the aristocracy, establishing equality of all men. And such afterward she approached not the leader but one of the men who was seemed to be part of the group. She got the needed information. And then slipped out but before she could the other Faye changing looked directly at her..she looked down at her hands she was losing her glamour and he could feel the magic. Swiftly she made it out the door and into a very darkened ally. During her time spent walking around the markets and neighborhoods, she had been sure to memorize every street every ally. He had followed her or tried to she quickly lost him. She would have to be more careful next time.
As soon as it was safe she proceeded back to her superior and gave home what she learned plus the name of the leaders. She was rewarded verbally for her good work and then sent to rest. And rest she did. She was told that she would no longer be following this particular group. While she disappointed she respected her orders, But she had a feeling this wouldn't be the last she had seen of the male Faye changeling. Who now had a name..Akiva

Maggie had gotten her new orders. Shortly after she had been taken off gathering information. (To be honest, she was glad) She was going back into culture immersion. She was selected to further venture past the capital cities. She would be guiding merchants with a small group and a local guide. This meant that trading routes would soon be established with tyran .and after that housing would be established for some of the military and people who choose live her like merchants and their families .the next few months for Maggie would be uneventful. As sometimes things were.
Maggie was going through some changes. She had your typical personality of a 20 something young chaotic Faye who had done quite a well in her early military career. She was more than self-confident now she was even a bit arrogant. And she was quite a bit selfish, in Faye years she was still a teenager and rates would always keep a childlike nature about them full of curiosity always challenging. Faye's we're also known for there sexual nature. And Maggie was there. She couldn't stop thinking about it. It's like it taken over brain.every chance she got, every free evening, every three day weekend. She was at the local watering hole picking up.some stranger.

And as much as she said she didn't care for Sampson or only wanted him for feeding and control she really didn't want to break him. That is why she choose to travel in the military. In Maggie's brain and by her logic, not having the affairs in front of Sampson was actually a way of her being respectful to him. And by keeping it in her pants, except her free days she was kept within the boundary of private and professional. She understood more why the queen refused her relationship request. Maggie of course, at this time did not take into the account that queen actually might not even be attracted to her in that way. That was just impossible. Maggie was beautiful and she knew it. She was learning more and more about how she could influence people with her Faye magic.
Maggie was also growing in other ways. During this period of learning about the culture. How they are which hand they used to eat with, how they greeted each other depending on the type of friend you were from acquaintance all the way up to a good friend. How a woman might greet another woman a man greet a man. It seemed complicated, but really it was no different. It was all about boundaries.she was also writing a letter back and forth with Gwen and Hotaru having many conversations. About her growth as a Faye. She was learning that this growth pattern was quite natural. For her development stage, during this time she had received a care package from her great grandpa tempest. So cookies which she shared with her crew a Christmas bobble for the yule. A journal in which her grandpa had written some his travel and war stories in. Left plenty of room for her own. It made her happy and even a bit homesick. But she felt loved. And that mattered the most to Maggie. Her grandpa also was quite understanding of Maggies natural nature even if he didn't understand her faye nature . He understood she was young and had a lot of growing up to do still.

Months had passed during this time Maggie had more than a clear understanding of the language. The trading routes from this land to tyran were becoming clearly establishes. And soon the market and docks were busy as ever. This meant now the housing outside the military base was being established. For people not native to the country of Ashousau. In the capital city, this was no small landmark. The more influence tyran could have the easier it would be in the future to take over the country and extend it as part of tyran. Information and education of the sciences were now being established and freely traded. Teachers and philosophers were being imported and exported along with spices textiles and metals. We were learning about their military the downside they were learning about Tyrans as well. The good side is tyran was planning to use its own people against itself
The short time maggie was in information gathering and the information she did gather was imperative to start the first stage of taking over the country. They had learned that there very clear caste system. And this caste system had put a very bad taste in the mouth if many a number of people. While Maggie was no longer privilege to this information that didn't mean they still weren't gathering it.
The meetings were still small that Akiva was holding and his movement was taking off to a slow start. But it was gathering momentum
