The young nekomatta followed the figure across the rooftops of the capital as it fled from the tavern. This had been the fourth night and she had finally caught sight of the burglar in the act. The night air was brisk and due to the lack of moon the rooftops were nearly pitch black. Thankfully Kilarah's cat-like eyes gave her the low light vision she needed to keep up with the predator of the night. She followed the figure like a hunter follows it's prey for what seemed like hours until finally the figure leaped from the roof and moved down into an ally way that was lit with the light of the streetlamps below. Kilarah watched as the figure descended, knowing this to be her only chance as she picked up the pace and leaped off, using the wall to brace her and leaping from wall to wall until she landed upon a set of stairs. Kilarah landed on the stairs, her long hooded adventurers coat fluttering the the wind as she caught her breath for a moment, knowing full well that the figure was directly behind her. Her short pink and white stylized hair flicked in the wind as she stood to her feet and spun around, looking upon Izanth who stood before her adjacent to the staircase and pointed towards Izanth. Her hetero-chromatic green and pink eyes stared Izanth down with a peculiarly sour look on her face. "Halt Knave! You shall run no further thief!" She shouted, desperately trying to hide the fact that she was nearly out of breath. Her two long pink cat tails curled behind her as she stared Izanth down. "Your *pant* pilching days are numbered thief and words will not avail you. You have either one of two choices now. Either come with me and turn yourself in, giving back all the possessions you stole from me and the good people of the tavern or you can draw your weapon and I can have the pleasure in taking it back myself." izanth

Izanth turned about at the sound of the voice and blinked a few times in utter confusion. They arched an eyebrow and looked the nekomatta over. "You are not one of the nekos from Night Haven." It was more a statement than a question though it would have been easy to of misunderstood as Izanth was still trying to piece together this situation and why they would be called a knave. Mind you Izanth was not unused to such treatment of misunderstanding, being a being made of shadow they were often accused of being less than honorable, which was certainly not the case. In fact they had gone to work for Sinead in the Temple of Light having longed for some time to be of service to the gods of the land. They blinked a few more times and watched the nekomatta as she had accused her and even threatened her with a sword if there was no cooperation. "I am sorry miss but you must be mistaken, you see I have only just left to return to the Temple of Light. I have no need to steal as all has been provided for me."

Kilarah would furrow her brow. "There is no talking your way out of this. I saw you with my own two eyes in my room of all things, I saw what you took and I want it back!" She said, standing her ground and trying to point even more if that was a thing one could do. Just then the sound of footsteps could be heard as for armed guards rushed the corner, finally catching up with Kilarah as she had shouted to them to follow her. Several of the guards out of breath and also seemed confused of the situation at hand. "Ah! There you are. This is the one!" Kilarah said as she addressed the guards and pointed at Izanth. "THAT is the one who has been stealing panties from the tavern! THAT is the underwear thief!" She said to them, turning a bright red after a moment as she realized that she just outed herself going commando to catch the thief.

Izanth blustered a bit at this and shook their head backing away. "I have no need to steal panties, and especially no reason to steal your panties. I am not in relations with you and am not interested in you as you aren't exactly my type. So therefore what do I have to gain by stealing your clothing? And as I stated already I work for the Temple of Light, what good would it do me to thieve? It would only set a bad example for the temple correct?" Izanth tried their best to reason as they were still a bit stuck here. Oh what a night to leave their robes at the Temple. But no they were like 'I will go into town just to see how things are. A drink wouldn't hurt'. Izanth gave a small sigh. "You can check my form if you wish but you shall not find your panties upon my form."

Kilarah narrowed her eyes at Izanth, looking them up and down as the guards stopped and listened to them. "You can't get out of this so easily. I just followed you across the rooftops and I saw you drop down right here." She said as she placed her hands on her hips. The guards would approach Izanth, taking up on the offer to search them as Kilarah watched, a blush still burning on her face as she looked to Izanth with an angered look. She would cross her arms after a moment as she was getting impatient before the guards both backed away, looking to Kilarah and explaining to her that Izanth had nothing on them. Kilarah's look would change from angry to confused, scratching her head before looking back to Izanth.
"Buh... wh-I-the... huh..." She would mumble, stepping down from the stairs and looking around Izanth. She looked in bins and around corners as she searched for something. "It's gotta be here somewhere..." She would mumble as she began to search every corner of the alley, the guards looking from Kilarah to Izanth to each other before shugging and moving from the alley to continue searching for the real prowler. After a moment more she would look up before stomping back towards Izanth. "Alright hot shot, if you arn't the culprit then explain how someone could leap down from a rooftop and then vanish?!"

Izanth saw the nekomatta approach and get face to face with them. Izanth however tried to remain calm though they did not like this invasion of personal space. Still they could feel for the woman. A woman's panties were a very private thing. "Well they could have magic and have popped into thin air. Any number of magic users can do tricks of that nature. Or they could have ran faster than you noticed and dodged around a corner to hide before you were given the chance to catch up. I find the simplest explanation though is usually the answer."

Kilarah winced at Izanth's answer as if it caused some sort of pain, her ear on the top of her head twitching to go with the wincing as she turned and took a few steps back and away. It sucked that Izanth had a point and she wasn't sure how else to approach this situation. She had done well to keep up with the criminal up to the point that they dropped off the rooftop and when she followed she came across Izanth but as it was plain to see, Izanth had no bag of snatched panties with them and she hated to admit it but it seemed Kilarah had been had.
"Just making sure... but if you truely are not the culprit then did you not see them? I am absolutely sure I kept up with them and I know I saw them drop from the roof." She said, pointing up at the rooftop where she had leaped down from. Her eyes were only caught for a split second by the curtains of the open window in the building across flapping in the breeze however this detail didn't seem relevant for the case at hand. "You tell me you've been here this entire time and not one person before me has come down from the roof and passed by you?" She asked, raisin her brow as if to say she caught you.

Izanth shook their head then looked about and noticed the open window and cracked a smile. "I am sorry I could not have been of more help. But mother often told me when a door closes, a 'window' opens." Izanth tried to stress it so that Kilarah could get the message without alerting the thief who it seemed had ditched into a side building explaining how neither of them saw the thief. In case Kilarah did not pick up on the clue though, as sometimes people needed stuff spelled out for them even the brightest of people, Izanth gave a small cough to make sure Kilarah's attention was grabbed and they pointed up to the open window.

Kilarah would give Izanth a puzzled look, raising her brow and placing her hands on her hips as they spoke of doors and windows. Her ears twitched as she processed the information while watching Izanth intently. "How does that help me?" She asked as she crossed her hands over her chest. "Windows open when doors close?" She would say, turning and looking to the door before up. It was then when she saw the window, her eyes growing wide as her mind put two and two together. "Oh wait look at that!" She said, pointing to the open window with a smile. "I bet the thief totally jumped into the window as they leaped from the roof." She said, climbing up to the roof and taking a look inside the window of the building. After getting a good look she would looked back down to Izanth and give her a wave. "I guess maybe you really didn't steal the stuff then huh?" She would say with a chuckle before looking back to the window. "Heh... sorry about that." She said, although her last look before leaping into the window and disappearing was as if to say she was going to keep an eye on Izanth anyways.
