As rain descended upon Tyran, a single droplet would find its way through the cracks of the earth and into the bowels. By all odds the droplet would not land to rest in the dirt or ground, nore would it aid in feeding one of the many ancient trees that overgrew the forest around the capital. Instead the droplet would slink down, dodging all surfaces as it made its way into a secret cavern far beneath the earth. Only light from nearby cracks would shine within the darkened cave and for a moment as the droplet fell, it would reflect light into the cave from the crack it had fallen from. Within the cave was an ancient ruin, a temple that once stood proudly had now been reduced to nothing but rubble. It was in these ruins, amongst the chaos sat an alter, upon the alter lay a staff.
The staff was long and crooked, as if made from the branch of an ancient tree. At it's head was a massive crystal ball. The branch that made the staff twisted and curled over the crystal ball like the claws of a crow clutching an oversized pearl in it's grasp. A swirling black energy would be seen within the crystal ball if any were around to witness it, as if something ever trapped within the staff that seemed to almost glow in the dim light that was cast quite conveniently over the alter. It was as if by fate the droplet of water would land upon the crystal orb of the staff, the water trailing quickly down the glass of the orb to rest on the wood of the staff.
Suddenly without any rhyme or reason, the staff began to shake. It was only slightly at first however it grew more rapid and violent... and then a crack appeared in the crystal staff...
