Trent did something he never did. He spent the entire day at home. Not in the lab, not in his library, not in meditation as he projected his will into the Far Plane. No arcane mysteries, no eldritch horrors, no infernal sigils, or abyssal glyphs. No scrolls or tomes, or even a codex was cracked that day.
Instead, he spent much of the day looking at either the fire, a map of tyran spread upon the wall- one in such detail that it could be mesmerizing- detail that seemed to continue in real time. He cooked dinner, beef tenderloin with a mushroom sauce composed mostly of white whine, smashed potatoes seasoned with garlic and chives and dab of cream. Squash, zuccinni, and diced tomatoes made a warm vegetable dish that was surprisingly high in color.
The sometimes fearsome wizard, wore a pair of well-worn brown trousers, and a tunic that dipped low to his chest. For a moment one would be forgiven to not even recognize the Magister of House Kaliba. The smell might've been enough to draw Milhin to him, though he suspected she was close enough at hand- as he was seldom close himself, she'd not miss the opportunity.

She was indeed close at hand, taking full advantage of Trent's presence. Just having him in the same space, regardless of them doing their own things, was a treasure to her. Later in the day, Trent had disappeared into the kitchen, which was amusing to Milhin. She hadn't known him to be much of a cook. She surely wasn't skilled in a kitchen. It was unlikely anyone ever wanted her to be there, and that was fine with her.
That said, she did sneak in at one point to dip her finger in the mushroom sauce and give it a taste. The high temperature didn't bother her in the slightest as she licked it from her fingertip. "Mmm. Hidden talents, Darling." She crooned, sidling up to him.

" Odd thing... Reign is a talented cook." he mused, as much to himself as anyone else. His arm slipped around her waist, as he leaned in to put his lips against tip of her ear at the cartilage. "When I took his power, I took more of his abilities than I thought--- a bleeding effect, if you will."
Most of Reign's passed on memories were distortions, not entirely useful. But some had been surprisingly useful. " I thought it would be nice to have dinner together, something servants didn't make." He said with a smile as he nestled in against her.
" I had a few things I wanted to ask you. "

"That's very interesting. I learn something new about you all the time." She chuckled and leaned against him, setting her head against his arm. "I enjoy the idea of you cooking me dinner. It's so delightfully...mundane." And yet it showed his affection through his effort. "It makes me wish I possessed the skill to return the favour." Milhin teased.
"I'm certain I can muster answers for you. If your dinner is ready, I can help bring it to the table." She offered, the least she could do after he had gone to the trouble of cooking.

"Unseen servant, is currently making the table. I cheated." He said with a smirk before taking her hand in his. " Come. Sit down." He said, leading her to the table not far off- where ghostly forces were currently setting down silverware.
" I wanted to know about your father. Your mother. I realize now, we've never talked about it. Your lineage I mean."

Milhin's head canted as she considered his desired topic of conversation. "You want to talk about my blood?" Her brow creased slightly and she allowed him to usher her towards the table. "Very well, if you wish. Is this because of the baby? You would like to have a better idea of what to expect?"
She settled herself, folding her hands in her lap. The idea didn't offend her. It was only that she hadn't been expecting it.

"No. Not entirely. " He answered, not so much a tone to alleviate any concern, but matter of fact. " Curious, yes- but also wondering how history can affect our future. Relics are rare, but still they keep showing up. And while, the mother of my child is forever young....it is worth noting you are one of those relics. "
Trent was a student of history as much as any other subject, and it was past time he got to know what MIlhin could recall.

Milhin chuckled, amused by his train of thought. "I suppose." She agreed, with a nod. "You have met my mother, Travine. A high demon of hell, somewhat psychotic. Came to love a dark elf mage by the name of Xanatos LeNoir. They coupled and had me. My mother was stabbed in the stomach by some bitch named Kalia while she was still pregnant with me." She shrugged. "Ironic I became Baracus's priestess years later. But that is something you already know."
"I don't have many memories of my father. He was often absent. Known for being a villain. Many were the hero that sought to destroy him. That is how he and Valerian met."

He nodded, why did that sound sad? He knew the story enough- he knew the horrid matter of it all. Why did the beginning sound so unfortunate?
" And who were the LeNoir's? Anyone of note in the family- other than your Father I mean? When you mentioned the House of Misery, was it a family affair?"

She worried at her bottom lip. "He had a son. Named Dartanyin. Though as a child he was taken in by Valerian. I believe that was one of their points of contention. I never met my half brother, however. He faded into obscurity."
"The House of Misery...I took it upon myself to join of my own volition. To make my mark on Tyran. My father was long gone by that point. I hadn't informed my mother of my decision at the time. Joining was something I did on my own."

" What would you say the philosophy of the House of Misery was? What drew you in?" He asked pouring her a glass of wine.
" My father never really mentions anything about that time- not willingly. "

"I understand why he wouldn't." She said with a sage nod. "The philosophy?" She smiled faintly. "Of course each member had their own. But the overall philosophy? I think was that there is beauty in darkness. That those who have the will and the power should rise up to take what they can and assert their dominance. To spread misery, perhaps. Everyone had their own reasons for being there. And yet...we all found a common goal...a reason to unite."

He nodded at the sentiment. " Is that something you miss?" He asked, curious to her thoughts on what once held the House of Misery. "Not the temple foolishness, but what once was. "

"Sometimes I miss pieces of it." She answered honestly between bites of her dinner. Rosewyn had discouraged her from drinking wine and so she drank soft cider. "There are times I miss the camaraderie. A common goal. Indulging in darker natures." Her mouth curved. "But there are times I have all of those things in you. So it is no burden, truly."
