MURDER AT THE NORTH POLE!

Wednesday, December 12th at 8:30pm EST

This is a tweaked, special Christmas edition, version of the party game "Mafia" that will be held by me in the Event Room. While not mandatory, players are heavily encouraged to use North Pole related nicks because it will be hilarious. Reindeer, elves, snowmen, Heat Miser, Santa, Kris Kringle, Mrs. Claus, etc. Get creative, only restriction is no two nicks can be the same and avoid religious nicks out of consideration.

HOW TO PLAY:

Players will be assigned various roles in PM (private message). The game has two phases, "night," when the Killer chooses a victim, and "day" when Innocents vote to hang a suspect.

As the players arrive at Wendy's, the Moderator (me) will secretly assign game roles. Players can freely RP until it's time to go to bed.

NIGHT:

1. The Killer selects his/her victim, notifying me of the unlucky soul via PM.

2. The Detective picks someone to secretly learn their role.

3. The Doctor picks someone to secretly save. He/She can choose themselves or someone else. If they pick someone else, that person is safe from the Killer, but if the Doctor is the chosen victim, he/she is dead and Innocents can no longer be saved.

DAY:

1. The Moderator notifies everyone to wake up and announces who died overnight.

2. Players RP, discussing recent events while trying to hide or fib about their own roles.

3. Make an Accusation! Players accuse someone of being the Killer, and must explain their reasoning behind the Accusation. (Which can be total BS, that's half the fun.) All Accusations must be seconded, which determines who has become the Accused.

4. Defend the Accused! Some may believe (or secretly know!) that the Accusation is unjust and can defend the Accused. The Accused and defenders can argue made up alibis and even accuse others of the crime.

5. The Vote. After some time, the Moderator will call for a vote, majority rules. If deemed not guilty, Accusations begin again and the process repeats. If the Accused is deemed guilty, they are hanged and the night phase begins again.

The game is won when the true Killer is executed, or when the Killer has successfully slain all the Innocents.

ROLES:

There are only three basic roles for the game outside of Moderator.

1. The Killer - chooses a victim to murder each night

2. The Doctor - chooses a player to save each night

3. The Detective - chooses a player to learn their role each night

4. Ghosts! - murder and execution victims get to RP freely as ghosts this time! The first three to die will be assigned as Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future!

More roles can be assigned determined on how many players we have.
