Rules:

Please pay close attention to how the settlement achievements work a. Settlement achievements may be done in one single story line, players simply have to add all posts together. b. Players may band together in order to make things progress faster. Achievements:THE SETTLER - 5 posts A story about how you first settled into Tyran. E.g.: You arrived by boat and got a room at Wendy's Tavern where you remained until you earned enough gold to rent a room above one of the stores in town.
HOMEOWNER - 25 posts You've now become established enough to get a home of your own. It’s a humble place, nothing too grand, but it’s home. You've either built it yourself or purchased it in a town.
ESTABLISHMENT OWNER - 50 posts You own a business or multiple living establishments of your own now. It can house several people, or provide services and goods to others. Note: This achievement also applies to those who wish to have clan or family headquarters!
OVERSEER - 75 You have decided to oversee a small town. It has no grand armies or great defenses, but it might produce rare goods or have a unique and curious culture for travelers to enjoy.
GRAND CITY - 100 Your small town has blossomed and seen golden times, growing in size to become a grand city of its own. You now have trade routes, possibly a monarchy of your own, maybe even an army and defenses to protect your people.
CONQUEROR - 50 post minimum of the story explaining how you took over another player's city. Requires an official battle between the conqueror and a champion of the city's choosing. Winner gets the city. * City owners MUST be notified of the situation. If the champion of a city does not respond within the 50 posts in 72hrs, the conqueror wins. (This is a perfect achievement for those who love battles and/or don't want to waste their time building a city of their own!)

Once in history, the cities of the greatest human empire were marvels of engineering; great white cities with crimson flags, pillars of marble, white domes of stone, or hammered bronze. Now? In a darker age, with the old world dead and gone, even Tyran reborn more times than one counts, there was but one city left. A seed of one of the great cities, spirited away from the height of the Arisalonian Empire.
Sitting near enough to the ocean, far out from the White City, were more recent constructions. Palisades dotted the hillocks, the plains, the wooded paths. Roads were being built for easier trade, though could’ve been built faster if not often patrolled. The White City’s approach to peace was a vigilant one, one perhaps dancing a fine line between paranoid and inhumanly efficient, but those wishing great freedom had no words against what happened within the White City’s walls. New Arisalon was a haven for the learned, a place where art was treasured. A great Opera stood in this city, nearly as impressive as the Rikkenmark Academy. Science was treasured, craftsmen were respected, the singers of songs, the performers given great acclaim. It was a place where mankind could prosper, paid in full by the dedication of the Ruling Council, the Guardian Elite, and the First Servant. Soldiers were taught the philosophical difference between fighting for, and serving a populace. It created a humility across both militant and artist, expansionist and pacifist. New Arisalon for all its sophisticated (relevant to the period) technology, its highly evolved view of magic and the research of, its strength came not from the soldiers but from its culture. In generations to come New Arisalon would produce great men and women. The interior of the city split into three rings, the city itself built as a circle. The Servant’s Circle at the center, the home of the People’s Palace, the House of Laws, the Hall of Memory, the Grand Sigil, and Eagle’s Eyrie. The Circle of Eight, came next. The Eight Wards of the City, Industrial, Arts, Markets (two wards), Residential (three wards), and the Sword Ward, a place of monuments, barracks, training facility, and personal residences. The outer most circle, was before the walls. Dotted with residences, caravansaries, businesses, bars, taverns, all matter of such. Outside the walls of New Arisalon, there was no such organization. A slum ‘ward’ had slowly taken form, refugees who had neither skill nor education, who had not as easily made entrance into New Arisalon. A few of them worked within the city, but most took up work as laborers to the outlying villages, or merchant caravan workers. |

Small Blurb: Gaius
the mountain city, Dracyl Mcarther is officially the head but shares
the responsibility with his father Pendragon. The city was formed as a safe haven for those that needed
a home and is also populated with refugees from the McArther home world
of Argos due its violent flora and fauna making the world almost
uninhabitable at the time. The defenses of Gaius
seem a bit lacking but only because most dont see them, The Mcarthers
themselves are the Main defense, each are attuned to their own element
and have many lifetimes of experience with their defined element. Other defenses are crystals around gaius that can focus their energy into lightning and a security
force of Golems that patrol the city, though they are made of rock they
are not the clunky things most imagine. They stand almost eight feet
tall and have the shape of a normal man though the stone does looked
cracked around the joints. They are faceless and when they speak their
body vibrates to create the sound.
Gaius used to be close to the capital, opening trades routes between it and the western lands but Since the Earthquakes had to be moved. It now rests on a mountain plateau just a bit east of Night Haven. Only part of the city now rests within the mountain, a small section for Gaius's light sensitive, The mayors office and the Mcarther family home. The rest sits under open sky with a wall currently to keep any animals out. The Gaius Academy of Arts and Magic has also been implemented into the town rather than being seperated as before. A school Headed by Pendragon
who teaches general classes, Hotaru who teaches Magic, Gwen who teaches
Alchemy and finally Tempest who teaches Combat.

A monolithic complex the Temple its self is 1/2 SqMi with the main temple grounds being a combined 10 SqMi. The temple grounds houses a barracks for the homeless and travelers it can fit 500 at any one time, several gardens, a magical arts training ground, daycare, and several other features that are being added each day. in the after math of the quake Sakura has ordered construction of a wall all around the Island and that homes be rebuilt. Some characters that have participated in stories at the temple of light include - Lycard, Valerian, Silence, Tempest, Opal, Orchid, Harmony. |

Tyrannights is a free-form play by post RPG with a medieval fantasy setting. It was formed in 1997 by Shawn and Doreen with many different owners and versions over the years. Its current version is Tyran: Tales of Legends owned by Sinead and Laelia.
Tales of Legends is world and character building focused with and original setting. There are no forced character aps or registration, so come stay in Wendy's Tavern for a drink. Have you character serve one of two Tyran gods. Rule a city of your own, or serve Tyran's Queen. There are limitless possibilities for your character's story... so what are you waiting for?
