(Feel free to PM me and join as your alternate dimension counterpart!)There it was again. That spark. That unseen flow below the ground. The young Vargo was kneeling in the middle of a small clearing in the forest while her friend, Lily sat nearby and watched quietly. Rhemilya had been delving into magical creations lately and had asked Lily for a bit of help on how to better feel that curious energy and harness it. She'd succeeded previously in making the female an enchanted robe. But beyond that she was unable to really harness any of that energy.
"Just breathe. Feel it move, let it flow through you."
Lily, sitting at the other side of the clearing had her legs folded beneath her and was guiding Rhemi through a few exercises. She was dressed in the blue robe that had been made for her along with slacks and a crisp white tunic. Rhemi was in her temple robes, as usual. With hair tucked up in a tidy bun. Rhemi nodded her head and drew in a deep breath. She had her eyes closed and could just feel the magic moving through the earth. As she reached out and touched it experimentally, it did the same. It was like a living being. Like a heartbeat beneath the ground. She waited patiently for Lilys instructions as she sat there, palms pressed tightly to the ground.
"Now, if you're up to it. Try and reach out, take a piece of that magic into your hand and then hold it out in front of you. Only a little though, we don't need you blowing up half the forest."
Rhemi grunted slightly, "Really? That's how you encourage me? Try not to blow up half the forest?" She stuck her tongue out at the girl. They'd been at this for hours now and this was the first time Lily had told her to reach out. To sample that energy. She was more than a bit nervous and with how strange she'd been acting lately she was more than a bit tentative. But this fascinated her, what harm could come from something so small?
Rhemi lifted her hands, cracking her knuckles gently and then placed them back on the ground and drew another long breath in. As she did she let herself try and reach out, to pull that magic to herself. At first nothing happened, but then the river of magic shuddered slightly. She felt it being drawn to her. In any other story, she'd take the tiniest of bits and be successful. But this was not your typical story.
She felt herself connect to the stream, the flow of magic crawling up her arms and as it did she felt a tingling sensation run through her back from her neck to her butt. It was a familiar one. That familiar feeling when she shifted.
"Rhemi!"
Came the sharp cry. She opened her eyes and saw that her hands were shifting very quickly between her feline form and her regular form, "What is going on?" She asked quickly, she couldn't raise her hands from the earth and now that the connection with the magical stream had been made, she couldn't break it. Paws. Hands. Paws. Hands. Her hands shifted rapidly.
"You need to pull back. Let it go." Lily said quickly, rising to her feet and hurrying over as small sparks of magic littered the air around the young Vargo. This is exactly what the unicorn had wanted to avoid. The girls own abilities were reacting with the magic.
"I don't know how!" Rhemi pulled at her hands, trying her best to break the connection. Magic crawled up her arms. Her whole form was flickering and threatning to shift as magical energy built up inside of her. That's when all hell broke loose. One second she couldn't raise her hands and then with one mighty pull she yanked her arms up and the magic along with them. From the ground it sprung like a geyser. Rippling through the area and enveloping the young Vargo in it's confines.
With a mighty explosion, Tree's crumpled, grass burnt away and pieces of magic littered the air. Lily was left standing there, unhurt although now alone....
....Rhemilya was gone.

How did one describe the feeling of being both obliterated, rebuilt and yanked through some sort of portal to another world? That's a good question. For Rhemilya it was like being on fire, while simultaneously being frozen solid at the same time. The magic had exploded at her fingertips and spilt from the earth. It had wrapped around her and pulled her to god knows where.
It was like floating in a multicolored river with nothing but endless flowing rivers of blue around her leading in all different directions. She was afloat in this multicolored stream. She could barely focus and she was screaming. She wanted it to stop. Wanted to go back.
~Ah, the naive young female wants to go back? Very well.~
The voice rumbled in her head like some sort of loudspeaker and then suddenly. It was gone. Everything went black and she was laying on something hard and wet.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
The girl wrinkled her nose and let out a soft cry as her body seemed to settle. Something wet was hitting her. She slowly eased her eyes open. She was in a clearing in the forest. One that looked the exact same as where she'd been. It was raining and as far as she could tell, Lily was nowhere to be seen. The sky was dark and cloudy, thunder rumbled across the sky and lightning flashed in the distance.
Rhemilya sat up slowly and looked down at herself. No residual pain remained in her body and she was in her human form. She furrowed her brows slightly as a spark of magic flickered lazily around her hand and then fizzled out. She didn't notice that the ground around her had some sort of magical circle carved into the dirt like it had been stamped there. She stood up slowly, a little shakily.
"Lily?" She called out. The unicorn wouldn't have just run off would she? She had to be ok. Right? It was just a bit of magic. Lily knew what she was doing. Rhemilya looked around quickly and called out a few more times. There was no response. In fact, beyond the rain and the thunder there was barely a sound around her. No birds, No bugs, no...nothing. It was strangely silent. It was a bit creepy.
"Maybe she went back to the temple?" That seemed the most obvious train of thought. Maybe she'd passed out and Lily had run off to get help? The storm had rolled in awfully quickly if that was the case. Adjusting her robes slightly, Rhemi hurried off in the direction of the temple and down a path she could have sworn was more worn than it currently was, "Must be the rain mussing up the path." She told herself as she hurried along, occasionally calling out for her friend.
She hoped she was ok.

Round in round in circles she went. Never seeming to make any headway. Twice she'd slipped and fallen in the mud, she was soaked through to her very skin and as she found she made another complete circle to where she started she threw her muddy gloves on the ground, "None of it makes any sense!" She yelled out loudly. The whole time, worry had been bubbling up in the pit of her stomach, threatening to make her panic. Why was the forest so weird? It was like none of her paths were there anymore.
Then there was the eerie silence. Normally she'd be able to hear the nearby city, the wildlife and the sounds of nature all about her. But other than the rain falling down and the occasional boom of thunder that followed a flash of lightning. There was nothing. No sounds. It was like there was nothing alive here except her. The vargo stood there on the spot, sniffling slightly like a lost child might and closing her eyes. Surely her mother could help her. Either of them. She let shaky thoughts and prayers echo out in her head and waited for what seemed like an eternity.
Half an hour she'd stood on the spot, the cold seeping into her skin and making her shiver. There was no answer. No warmth from one mother and no sudden appearance from the other. It was like they were ignoring her which was not something they'd ever done. Maybe they knew she'd been toying with magic? Maybe something big had happened beyond the odd storm that had come out of nowhere.
At this point, panic was bubbling in her stomach like the wings of a thousand butterflies. She looked around the clearing and opted for a different strategy. She'd walk in one direction until she found something familiar. Surely she couldn't miss the entire capital? She hurried along, pushing through the underbrush, leaping over fallen tree's and crossing paths that didn't look even remotely familiar. Why was the city so silent? She wondered to herself as she pushed through a rather thick patch of brush and finally broke free of the forests clutches.
The sight that greeted her told her why it was so eerily silent. Bright green eyes were assaulted with the image of a shattered city being reclaimed by nature. The once grand walls of the city stood in ragged disarray, vines and grass reclaiming them as part of the wild. The buildings that once lined the streets were naught but sunken, soggy timber at this point and the docks, well...the ocean it would seem had reclaimed them. It was a barren landscape. Had she caused this with her magical exploits?
She walked along the streets, boots squelching in the thick mud as she did so. It didn't take long to arrive at the center of the city where a huge crater a mile and a half wide sat. It was large and looked like the ground had been scooped out like butter. As she looked over the edge and into the dark hole she noticed that it was halfway full of water. Did that mean it had been raining for a while now? She looked up at the dreary sky and then to the destroyed city around her.
The only building in sight that seemed to be even remotely intact was none other than the Temple of Light and even that seemed to be leaning on it's last leg. She stared at it in the distance, a rotted beacon in the midst of all this. Suddenly she was running towards it. Her mother would know what to do, what was going on!

The temple doors hung half-on their hinges and half-off. Rhemilya shoved her shoulder roughly against them, the wood groaning loudly as she pushed them apart. Columns of dark light filtered in through large holes in the roof in the altar-room as she entered. The place was eerily still. With the exception of the slight pitter patter of raindrops as they hit the remains of the roof. Rhemilya stood there, frozen. The altar-room looked like it hadn't been touched in years and the whole place smelt of decay.
"...M...Mum?"
That's when she felt the blade press to her throat.
"I'm afraid she isn't home today. You'll have to come back later."
An eerily familiar voice filled the air as Rhemi stayed stock-still. She knew it was a blade against her delicate skin and one quick movement would have her dead in seconds. She didn't move. She didn't let that fear set in as she opened her mouth to speak to the stranger, but they interrupted before she could.
"I'm going to remove the blade. Don't make any sudden moves or you'll find yourself buried alongside the rest of the poor souls who died in this place."
The blade dissapeared from her throat and from the shadows ahead of her stepped a cloaked form with a black hood hiding the mans face in shadow. He leaned against a crumbling column as he studied the female before him, "If I was a betting man, I'd say your name is Rhemilya."
Rhemi didn't move from her spot as the man spoke her name. So this WAS her world? But then what was going on? Who was this? So many questions filtered through her head but she needed to choose them wisely for the moment. She got the impression that the person before her had more than a few tricks up their dark sleeves.
"I...I am. Although I am not sure who you are?" She hesitated to ask what was going on yet. She'd get there if she survived long enough to ask.
"Ah yes, I imagine you may not remember me. It has been so very long. Since the earlier days of Creation in fact." He chuckled lightly and drew back his hood slowly revealing neatly trimmed rainbow hair. Although the strands were not vibrant and rather dark.
Rhemilya blinked. The rainbow haired man? The one who had rescued her and Lily from the templars? She'd seen him die, it must be some sort of imposter, "You rescued me, from the templars. With Lily."
The stranger raised an eyebrow at her and turned to regard the female. She looked so very different from the Rhemilya Vargo he knew. The one he knew wouldn't be caught in such stuffy robes, nor would she be walking about without some sort of escort.
"I believe, you have me mixed up with someone else. I get the impression you're not from around here. Tell me, what gods rule over the lands?" A question someone from this land would easily be able to answer.
"Light and Dark."
She answered quickly and felt that worry bubble up in her stomach as the man seemed to laugh loudly at her response.
"Does it look light outside to you? The goddess of light hasn't shone upon this land in many years my dear Rhemilya. Something tells me, you are not from around here. How did you get here? Tell me everything." He drew a blade and began picking imaginary dirt from under his fingernails with it. It would seem she didn't have a choice but to answer and so she explained everything that happened. It was all she could do to keep calm at this point.

...She told him everything. Maybe this wasn't the same person. But it was. Sort of. She felt like she could trust him. She explained that some sort of magical energy had engulfed her. She retold of streams of magic and the voice that had laughed before she had shown up here and when she finished she still hadn't moved from her spot. The rainbow haired man studied the girl and from everything he knew, she seemed to be telling the truth. He did not know much about magic but from what he gathered. She had ended up in their land through magical means.
"Your story is interesting." He pushed off the crumbling column and walked to a nearby decayed bookshelf, running his fingers along the volumes and then tugging one of the few intact books off of the shelf and flipping it open to the first page, "There is a prophecy in our land. It speaks of an otherworldly being that will bring about light to our world once more. It's an old prophecy, and not one many of us believe in anymore. But from what I can gather of your tale, you are not of this...world. The proof, is that you speak of your gods. Sinead and more specifically, your mother---"
"You know of her? Where can I find her?!" She interrupted hopefully. Not caring what some stupid prophecy said about an othrworldly being.
"Quiet yourself child." He said in a rather scathing tone that shoved the words right back into her mouth as he replaced the book on the shelf, "Your mother, Sinead. Has been gone for a long time. When her position was overthrown by a mortal. No small feat, I assure you."
"You mean...she's dead?"
The man pointed quietly to a small shrine in the corner which bore a nameplate, "See for yourself."
Rhemilya walked quietly to the corner and looked down at the small shrine covered in partly finished Creations and other baubles that seemed untouched by time. The plate had an inscription:
'To the goddess lost. Forever shall she remain at peace.'
It was followed by a name and a date.
Rhemilya shuffled her feet slightly and stared at it for what felt like an eternity until the stranger came up beside her and looked down at it, "It was a dark day when she was lost. But alas, everything has to come to an end at some point. Even the gods." Rhemilya looked up at the man who seemed so hardened and she swore she saw compassion in his eyes for a moment.
"If this is not my world and she is gone...then can you help me get home, stranger?"
"I am no stranger, Rhemilya Vargo. I am Auran Heimdall and have known you since you were quite little. I cannot help you get home, but I do know someone who might be able to, an old friend." He offered a reassuring nod and then turned, seeming to melt away into the shadows and appear at the entrance of the altar-room, he pushed the doors shut to stop the rain coming in.
"Let us go then with haste." She bundled up her muddy robes and headed for the door, Auran did not move from his spot in front of the doors.
"It is best we wait. It is especially dangerous at night. Let us rest and leave after nightfall."
"But---"
Auran raised a hand to silence her and shook his head, "That was not a request, child. Rest and we will leave in the morning, or I will not help you."
Rhemilya stared at him for several long moments but something in the back of her mind told him to trust him despite only having known him for a short while now. She sighed lightly and nodded slowly. Everyone was probably freaking out at where she was already, what difference was it if she made them wait the night? She bundled up her robes around herself, "Guess I'll just make myself cozy then." She turned and walked towards the hallway leading out of the altar-room.
"The temple is safe. Just do not leave its walls. I will see you in the morning." Then he seemed to dissapear. He would watch over her through the night it seemed.

"Another world." Rhemilya whispered to herself as she pushed into the decayed halls of the temple. Its layout was identical to the temple she was used to. Each room set up the same or similarily. Or at least it seemed like they were from what she could gather through the decaying mess. The kitchens were collapsed and so her grumbling stomach was left unchecked for the moment as she wandered the halls, slipped between fallen columns and stopping to stare at words carved into the wall outside her own bedroom.
'Betrayer.'
She frowned a little bit. She wondered if she too was dead and gone in this world? Auran had not mentioned that fact. She ran her fingers over the still intact door of the bedroom, relief images of Creation carved into them still standing the test of the time. If she ignored the rest of the hall, she could almost imagine she was home again. But then the thunder outside rumbled and reminded her how far away from home she was. She reached up, pressing her hand against the door.
It swung inwards easily and had to wonder what had happened inside the room. It was like someone had taken reality and turned it on its head. Like a magical battle had been fought in the room. Stone spike jutted from the walls in patterns like they'd been manipulated to try and hit something or someone, vines were curled around half-broken spike and everything in the room was pushed to the exterior save for one corner which had been completely obliterated and was open to the dull landscape outside, water ran off the edge of the roof and pooled on a floor littered with pages that looked like they'd been torn from a book.
Rhemi walked along the room, fingers tracing the stone spikes and the vines. The room looked like it had been frozen in time during some sort of battle. The center of the room was clear save for footprints that looked like they'd been burnt into the floor. She walked to the edge of the gaping hole in the corner which provided a perfect view of the large crater in the distance. From here she could see similar stone pillars and vines rising at different places in the forest. She'd thought they were just old stone columns earlier when she'd been lost. But this whole place told a very different story.
She stared quietly into the distance as the light outside waned. She wondered how it managed to be even remotely light during the day with the thick stormclouds covering the sky overhead. She looked up and tilted her head, "Perhaps the god of light wasn't quite from this land?" She turned back to regard the room. A bed that looked similar to her own lay in one corner, still intact. Although the blankets and pillows smelt of mildew. She made a sour face and stopped at the remains of a writing desk. Pieces of parchment littered its surface although they were all covered in one word written over and over again.
'Betrayer'
She had no idea what it was supposed to mean.
"Quite the battle was fought here."
Came a voice from the doorway where Auran was leaning against the doorframe and watching Rhemilya with dark multi-hued eyes. Much like his hair those orbs were dull. Rhemilya remembered the man from her own world. His eyes had been so bright and full of life. Well, before he'd died. She turned to regard the hole in the wall once more, "What happened here?" She asked softly.
"Let us say that two close people had quite the disagreement. Although it is not my place to say any more than that." He frowned a little bit and pushed off the doorframe and clasped his hands behind his back, "You're certainly accepting the idea that this is not your world quite well. I am surprised. A young Vargo I once knew was not such a fan of change unless it was in her own interests."
Rhemilya turned strong eyes on Auran. Eyes that held the strength of the people whom she'd been born from, "I have accepted the fact that I am far away from home. Freaking out won't help me. Even if I did so earlier. Logic will see me home again."
Auran chuckled lightly, "Mmm...I like the confidence. But you are right, just give it time and we will get you home. Now come along, we can stay in the healers quarters. Open air rooms like this are not the safest of places." He pointed to the distant forest where large shadowy figures seemed to be rising from the forest. Rhemilya followed his pointed and stared at the shadows, "What are they?"
"You don't want to know. Come." He turned and dissapeared through the door. She took one last look at the shadows and then hurried in the corridor. Auran was nowhere to be found but seeing as this had been her home her whole life, she knew how to get to the healers quarters which she found was in a significantly less decayed state than the rest of the temple. In fact, it looked almost untouched by the decay of the rest of the temple with the exception of a partially collapsed wall which had led into the head healers room.
She looked at the beds and various things strewn about the room, "It looks like the temple I'm used to."
"As it should. I have preserved this room for a very long time. I imagine our worlds are not so different from eachother in most respects. Save for the obvious."
Auran had once again seemed to appear from the shadows, walking to one of the many beds and flopping onto it. He'd removed his cloak revealing a grey undershirt with a black vest over top of it. He wore black slacks as well and tall boots that encompassed his feet in molded leather, "Choose any bed though, there is food in the preserving bin." He motioned to a bin attached to the fireplace.
Rhemi's stomach growled and Auran grinned knowingly. She walked to the bin quietly and opened it up. It was full of preserved meat and fish. She took a few pieces of what looked like jerky and walked to sit on the bed closest to Auran, facing him as she sat there and nibbled away, "Thank you. For the assistance. And you know...not killing me earlier." She offered a tiny smile.
Auran said nothing for a moment and then sighed as she leaned back and closed his eyes, "My dear Rhemilya. You need never thank me for such things. As for the not killing you, well...that was a fluke." He opened one eye and winked before closing it again and letting himself rest, "Get some rest. We leave as soon as the shadows retreat in the morning." Rhemilya nodded and sat there, eating in silence as her mind digested the facts.
This was turning out to be a very strange day. Eventually though as she laid down on the bed her tired body allowed her to slip into sleep.

She slept so peacefully. It had been quite some time since Auran had seen someone sleep so peacefully, especially a child. Dulled rainbow eyes watched the young Vargo curled up in a mess of blankets as she slept. He rolled a dagger over in the palm of his hand, watching the firelight reflect off the blades sharpened edge, "One move and it would all be over." He told himself. And yet he did not have the strength. This girl could throw this entire land into either disarray or bring light back to them. If the former happened, it'd be worse than it was already.
Magic was a terrible thing. It had brought the world to its knees before dissapearing completely. In this land, Magic was what made or broke entire kingdoms. It was a precious commodity since nobody could harness it anymore, not since the calamity. Auran watched a solitary spark of blue magic flit about the Vargos body. She'd brought magic and the ability to harness it back to their world, even if she didn't know it.
"You either save us, or condemn us. Or things stay the way they are." He fully intended to find a way to send her home. This land had enough issues and their world was not their problem. There was no sense in spreading false hope. He clutched the dagger tightly and walked back towards the door, stepping through it and into the pitch black temple. Despite there being no light, his feet guided him easily to the front doors in the altar room. He nudged them open and looked out over the decayed city.
Towering humanoid beings made of what looked like shadows walked about, searching. Auran narrowed his eyes a little bit, "Hmn...so I was not the only one who felt her arrival. The tyrant queen searches as well." He spat at the ground as one of the shadows turned its head, glowing blue eyes boring into him from high above. He simply smirked and waved before closing the doors of the temple. Nothing could get into the temple, it was protected by blood wards he'd made himself. He headed back to the healers quarters and let himself rest a bit longer. Morning would come before long.

Rhemilya had woken particularily early. Next to her slept the rainbow haired man on his bed, his hood down over his eyes and his breathing soft and surprisingly peaceful. She had gotten the impression that this land was not all that peaceful. She climbed to her feet and dusted herself off a little bit. She sure hoped Auran's contact would be able to help her get home. Already she had that fluttery feeling in her stomach of being homesick. She was so far away. Rhemi was a mature young lady for her age and while she generally did good to maintain her composure, it certainly showed in her half-hearted stride that she was still just a kid missing her home and her mothers.
She slipped out through the door and into the degraded altar-room. She took a moment to stop at the remains of the altar and fold her hands in prayer. She didn't know if it would be heard by anyone but she did so anyways. Asking for help in finding her way home. When she was finished she placed a small carved piece of wood from her pocket on the table. A gift she'd been making for one of the orphanage children back home. It seemed a fitting offering.
She let her eyes roam over the crumbled statue of her mother for a moment and then walked towards the main doors of the temple. She nudged them open and poked her head out. In the distance the large human-like shadow creatures were still walking but as it got lighter outside, they seemed to flicker and fade slightly. Clearly they could not function in the daytime. She watched them quietly. It was like watching a sunrise...but without the sun and only grey, gloomy stormclouds overhead. It was still raining.
"What are they?" She asked softly as she looked out over the land and the large creatures walking. They were not anything she recognized. That was for sure.
"The queens scouts. Per se. Creatures she controls."
Auran had yet again appeared out of nowhere. She jumped a little bit and turned to see him leaning against the nearby remains of a pew. She tilted her head, "How does the queen control something like that? And for what purpose?" She turned back to look outside. The large creatures were now barely visible and almost gone as it got a little lighter out.
"Well, I don't often see them in this part of the land anymore.I imagine they are searching for you. Your arrival will have put up a rather large magical signal. The queen knows how to track these things. As soon as they fade, we should make haste to leave as her human scouts will soon follow."
RHemilya turned to regard Auran but he was gone once more. She grumbled. He did that a lot it would seem. She waved a hand dismissively at where he'd been and turned her eyes back outside where the creatures had all but dissapeared. She nudged the doors open and stepped into the rain. A sharp whinny to the east had her eyes turning to the east where a group of riders were thundering across the remains of the city, dress in black platemail.
"That would be our cue to leave. To the forest." Auran was beside her once more, a travelling pack slung over his shoulder. He pointed to the forest and with an understanding nod the two of them hurried off down the steps as the riders rode towards the temple. She was sure they were clearly visible as they slipped into the edges of the forest.

....And to the forest they did go. The group of riders constantly at their heels for days on end. Auran was careful to keep the pair of them hidden through various means and more than once Rhemi had been forced to sleep inside a hollow log or a concealed nook on the side of a hill. It wasn't the most comfortable of journeys and with the many dangers that seemed to be all around them, along with the potential for their pursuers to find them...there was only one thing that kept the young Vargo going. The potential to go home, to get out of this very strange nightmare. She wasn't sure how long she'd been away from her home but she knew she was getting homesick very quickly.
In the middle of the gloomy day as the pair trudged through a lighter rainfall, Rhemi looked over at Auran, head and face hidden in the hood of his black cloak. It was only in the dim light that she noticed the faded symbols running along his robes. Symbols of Creation and Light both intertwined with eachother. She tilted her head a little and decided to ask about it later. For now she had only a singular question that was begging to be asked.
"Auran...Do you think I'll be able to actually get home? Don't hold back...just because I'm a kid." Her green-yellow eyes bored into the man as she asked.
Auran reached up and tugged the hood of his cloak back as they came to a halt alongside a rushing river on the edge of a small forest. He looked down into the swirling water and let soaked strands of faded rainbow hair fall down on either side of his face, "If you wantt he honest truth, I'm not quite sure. The person we are to meet, may know of a way to get you home. Admittedly, it is dangerous for you to even exist in this world." He rubbed his eyes a little bit. He had been learning over the course of the last few days that Rhemi was genuinely intelligent and more than a bit mature for her age. He found himself giving her more information than he might normally offer to a child.
Rhemi looked to the side absently, "So...there is still a chance then? That's better than nothing. Although, you have said it a few times that it is dangerous for me to exist here. What do you mean by that?"
"You bring magic to a world where Magic is what controls the fate of the realm. Magic is the reason this world exists in the state it is in. Magic here, is a limited resource. You come from a world where, as you've explained...you can channel it freely. That, here....in the wrong hands could be disastrous here. It is the reason I hope to return you to your world post-haste." He didn't mention that Rhemi was likely the only thing that could save this world as well. But Auran wasn't willing to risk Rhemi ending up in the wrong hands.
"The quicker we get you back home, the better. Now let us hurry on." Rhemi knew the conversation was over and turned to follow Auran as he walked along the rivers edge. Though it was short lived as a whisping noise was followed by a blinding pain exploding through Rhemilyas leg. She let out a cry of pain and stumbled, clutching now at a red feathered arrow protruding from her leg. She heard hooves in the distance.
Auran reacted almost instantly, throwing up his cloak which helped to disrupt the arrow trying to find its mark on him as well as he hurried to Rhemi's side, kneeling down beside her. The sound of hooves drew quickly closer and Auran knew there was very few options with the girl wounded. He stood up and moved in front of her, protectively as he drew two small daggers from the inside of his cloak.
The black-plated warriors rode in quickly, surrounding the pair with spears and arrows notched in bows. A slim rider with a helm bearing the image of a dragon reached up, tugging off the helmet and letting red hair cascade about her form. She had bright green eyes and sharp features.
"Ah, it seems we have finally caught up little brother." The woman said in an accent very similar to Aurans.

Auran stood protectively between the now injured girl and the group as they gathered around them. Their backs to the water, "What is it you want, Kari?" He asked in a scathing tone. He knew what she wanted. She wanted Rhemilya. Not many people in this world could wield magic and those who could, were a force to be reckoned with. His mind searched for options as the group tightened their circle. Tugging strands of red hair from her face, Kari would dismount from her horse and walk up to stand a few feet from Auran.
"You know full well what I want, what the queen wants and when I want it. Now you can either hand her over, or we will take her forcibly. I will not hesitate to kill you as I did last time, Little brother." Auran narrowed his eyes, hands clenching the daggers beneath the sleeves of his cloak as he stepped back, almost right against Rhemi who was on the edge of the rushing river.
"Well, I guess I shall die then." And then he kicked the young Vargo right over the edge of the river. The woman gasped and drew her blade angrily as chocolate brown hair dissapeared into the river, "You've only delayed the inevitable. How many of us do you think you can take on with those two little pig stickers?" She grinned and held her blade up calmly and advanced towards Auran....
-----------------------------
The last thing Rhemi remembered was being pushed into the river. Pain shot through her leg as the last vestiges of air escaped her lungs. She tried to get to the surface but never made it and watched helplessly as the world slipped away into black. She just remembered the cold rush of the water surrounded her and then she was gone. Was this what it was like to die? Why had Auran done that? Why were those people after her? The last of these thoughts bubbled away.
It wasn't until several days later that she awoke. Warmth on her face from some sort of external source and some sort of soft material laying atop her. Her head was on something soft and she heard movement nearby. She groaned softly and eased her eyes open. Maybe she was back home in her own bed and one of her mothers would be coming in to wake her up. She eased her eyes open slightly. Green-yellow hues wincing as the light stung them.
"Nngh...." She groaned.

(OOC note: I make my text bigger so I can see it )
Sune had worked for the queen for he knew not how long but then working for her had this way of playing with ones memory. Was he born here or bought and sold here? who were his parents? Did he have any siblings? He couldn’t recall any of it anymore than he could recall how he had gotten his metal leg. The only things clear in his mind was that he belonged to the queen and she held the flute that controlled him.
The castle BlackHeart located in the desolate wintery north was his home. The run down city bellow his play ground and training arena all in one. The dungeon’s bellow where the queen kept her enemies a place he feared and had only been to when he had failed his queen and she had seen fit to put him there.
He walked the halls now looking like nothing more than a human scribe wearing brown boots, leggings and a shirt. Over which he wore a red overcoat to keep out the cold and as a marker of his station. It was not his real station of course as he was a tracker and hunter for the queen. Few in her realm knew that though, just like few knew the boy could change into a fox at a whim. It was a secret kept between him and the queen.
The soft thud of one foot was followed by the more metallic clang of the other as this same boy now slips into a secret passage of the castle and came out into the queens room, staying in the shadows. “my queen you summoned me” he said quietly, the call of the flute she had probably just blown on bringing him here to her.A flute that was in itself a work of magic sealed into solid shape.
It was the length of a normal flute but made of such fine glass that had it been in better shape and not all cracked and scratched up, one could have probably seen right through it. Along the left side of the flute was a silver inlay that spelled out the boys name while on the other was the intricate tracing of a fox image. Delicate crystalline holes doted the top where fingers would dance along their surprisingly smooth surface to play the thing. It played just like any normal flute but the sounds it made.. they were more like the howling of a lost soul or an injured beast. That said, the call to him had been a silent tune only he could hear.

Ah yes. The queen of the land. The head honcho. The countess of the dark. Purveyor of shadows. She held many titles given to her by the lowly commonfolk. Some called her evil, some called her the best thing that had ever happened to this land. Those people were very wrong. She was a corrupt soul with a blackened heart and who cared only about the power she amassed and that she stayed the top of the food chain no matter what. She did not generally do thing herself, that's what her subjects were for. Perfect little minions to do her bidding.
She remained in her lavish chambers, a warm fire burning in the hearth as green-yellow eyes stared into the flickering flames. The woman, with her chocolate brown hair falling about her in perfectly styled waves sat on her bed, pillows piled behind her back and a pair of glasses perched upon her nose as she read through a book titled 'Magic Through the Ages'. She loved magic. It was as much a part of her as her own soul. Or at least, that's how she felt. She was relaxing, having just blown a few notes on a curious flute she kept on a stand on her bedside.
She made a sour face when the boy slipped into her room, his metallic extremity clanking loudly on the floor, "Getting a bit slow are we? Perhaps next time I will call Arturius instead. At least he can walk about quietly." The queen did not look up from her book immediately. Leaving Sune to stand there in silence before she finally closed the pages. The woman looked up from her book and tugged her glasses off. She was a beautiful woman, the spitting image of the two women who'd bore her. Neither whom was amongst the living anymore.
The queen grinned widely, "I did however summon you. You are correct. I have a bit of a job for you actually." She climbed to her feet, a dress custom made by her own hands fell about her form as she walked to a large pensieve in the corner, looking down into it and running a finger along the glistening surface of the liquid inside.
"It would seem a curious soul has come to our lands. One who posesses similar abilities to my own." She of course meant the ability to channel magic, which in this land was a rarity, "I need you to find and eliminate her. I believe the unicorns have taken her in." She looked over her shoulder and tossed a piece of parchment at Sune, "Her likeness is drawn upon that. Don't bother coming back until she is no longer breathing."
The parchment held a picture of what the queen had looked like as a child. She would give no answer beyond this.
"Understood?" She asked.

His blue eyes drifted along her form from where he stood silently waiting. He shifted his weight as the fire light flickered in the hearth. He liked the way her hair fell along her body and onto the bed but the he liked most things about her appearance. She was very attractive and he had thought many times about getting closer. It was a desire he couldn’t fully ignore but one he would never be able to fulfil either. So he settled for getting to look at her like this, alone in her room with her, where he was sure few others got to go.
He pursed his lips at the mention of being too slow, trying his best not to wince as she verbally lashed out at him and threatened to call in Arturius next time “My Queen. I’m sorry for my timing..” he wanted to blame his lateness on his leg but who knew what pain that might bring so he just gathered himself and bowed to her “I will do better to be on time My Queen” he promise her, straitening and moving a bit more into the room so she could see his long shoulder length blond hair and blue eyes. She had his full attention now. “I will see to adding padding to my right boot My Queen” He added, in hopes this would help him move more quietly and that she wouldn’t refrain from doing him harm.
Again he was left to wait at the foot of her bed though the waiting wasn't bad considering that he got to be here with her alone. He would never admit to her that he cherished such moments, even with how cruel she could be to him. He couldn’t help it, she held his flute and thus owned him mind, heart, body and soul.
His eyes followed her as she got out of bed and that dress fell to the floor. He found himself licking at his lips and wanting to get closer still but stood where he was, only pivoting on his heels to follow her movement as she went to work at her pensive in the corner. He listened intently to her every word in regards to there being someone new and interesting in the land, a blond eyebrow raising in curiosity. The paper being tossed landing at his feet so he would have to stoop to pick it up.
“Yes my Queen. I will find her and kill her.” He bowed to her, paper now in hand. “I will need the same elixir as always to hide my leg My Queen” he reminded her gently, as she was the only one capable of such magic and he would need it. After all running around with a metal leg stood out regardless if you were a fox or a human.
