Worlds Away: Panic in Spades (Krixia)

"Rhemi? Rhemi?! RHEMI!!" The blonde female called out as she paced the area. She sent out magical probes, she searched every inch of the shattered clearing. There was no sign of Rhemilya anywhere. Which was ironically, reassuring. No pieces meant the girl wasn't dead. But it also meant she wasn't here. Had she teleported? She was somewhere. Magic could be so very unpredictable at times and Lily had not expected the magic to react so violently with Rhemilya's own inherited abilities.
Lily paced the clearing for several hours and finally came to the realization that her friend was nowhere to be found. Being a creature of fight or flight nature. Panic was beginning to settle in. What if she was gone forever? Or worse, dead? Lily's mind wandered to try and find a solution. She needed to find someone. To tell someone. Krixia would know what to do. Or at least, that was the first person her mind latched on to. She was after all, a creature of the wild. Which had made her quite close to Rhemilya's wandering mother.
And so in her equine form she raced through the wilds. Reaching out, trying to feel her way to the female in question. She didn't know where she was but she would keep running until she found her. Whether it was minutes, hours or days. She was a panicked creature on a dead run through the wild. She didn't know what else to do. ]

Having not been long ago speaking to another creature, her path took her towards Lily. As with most things towards her, if one looked for her with intent, they would find her, or some form of messenger instead. This time, however, there was an immediate sense of concern that she didn't know the source of.
It wouldn't take long for the two beings to run into each other. Finding Lily in a more open field, a few different worries crossed her mind when she saw the unicorn. Glad to see her, yet realizing that was the source of the concern...
Though she was purring, she came to a stop and let herself shift into her human form. Gripping her staff tightly, it wasn't hard to come to terms with what would cause Lily to react in such a way, and she immediately jumped towards a potential worst.
"Lily", she started off softly, her voice carrying out with sweet tones in her greeting towards the beautiful creature, but she moved on quickly enough. "Please, my dear, tell me what has happened."
Despite her calm voice, her eyes had quickly turned to feline ones without her realizing it, a hard edge behind them as the anticipation laid right on the edge of keeping her control between rational thinking and instinct.

Lily practically ran headfirst into the woman. For form melted away in a maelstrom of blue and white sparks and she was left, pacing in human form before Krixia. The calm voice didn't help. Her mind flitted back and forth on how to phrase it, how to explain what had happened. How did you explain that someone had just...dissapeared? Lily looked around frantically and continued.
"She wanted to learn about magic. And I was showing her. And then something happened. I don't know what!" She stopped and tried to formulate a proper sentence, "Rhemi is gone. I...I don't know where! The magic it just..." She snorted audibly and her form shuddered slightly. The flight side of her mind was kicking in, she wanted to run. To panic. Lily turned to regard Krixa and shook her head.
"I don't know what happened. The magic just...swallowed her." She said this in a hesitant tone. She felt like it was her fault. Then again, she couldn't have known how the unpredictable magic would react with the young female. Lily had seen magic go very wrong before, but she'd never seen it swallow someone whole before. What more could she say?
"Rhemi is GONE!" She yelled loudly, her form melting away into her equine form. She ground a hoof into the ground.

CHAT LAWGS:
Gone? The young woman.... her girl, her child, was just 'gone'. She was gone from playing with magic. Not dead, that's a plus. Not unfindable, maybe? That was possibly a plus. If Lily thought she was freaking out right now, she'd probably be a little overwhelmed by just how quickly emotions were flooding Krixia. Instead of outwardly showing it, however, the shaman went completely still and suddently stopped making sound.
What Lily didn't know was that there was a battle going on between instinct and logic. Given how little Krixia had that she considered as precious as Sinead and her children, and then her own child, it was a rather hard fight to win, at that.
This lasted only a few seconds, long enough for that unicorn to reappear as it's equine form and stomp a hoof down into the ground. Inside of the woman, however, that was more of an eternity. When finally she came out of it, a slow, long breath was let out. She walked up to the unicorn, unafraid, hands held out. Making her natural aura towards animals engulf her daughter's friend.
"Lily"
The tone was both commanding and compassionate at the same time, but when she reached the equine, one hand placed atop the equine's nose and gently slide up along her head while the other affectionately stroked the side of her neck. "Please. As much as I understand, we're not helping by losing our cool right now."
---------------------------
Gone. Poofed. Dissapeared. However the woman wanted to put it, that was what it was. Lily ground a hoof into the ground like she was trying to dig to the center of the planet. Every inch of her being was freaking out. She watched as Krixia went stock still and made not a sound. Lily was unsure if that was a good thing, or a bad thing. Lavender eyes watched as the unicorns muscles twitched nervously.
The calming aura however, was helpful. She stood still as a hand ran along her nose and neck. Lily had gotten to know Krixia a fair amount since meeting Rhemi and so the friendly gesture was both welcome and calming than it normally would be from any other person. She snorted audibly again and forced her equine form to melt away again, Krixias hand simply resting atop her head now as she stared at her feet rather intently.
"Easy for you to say. You didn't watch it happen." You didn't teach her how to pull at the ley lines and draw magic from the earth. She kept the last part to herself as she twitched slightly and poked the hole she'd made with her hoof with the tip of her bare toe. The only thing she wore was the shapeshifting robe that Rhemi had managed to make her. It was ocean blue with ocean-like designs embroidered throughout.
"She...Dissapeared."
-------------------------
"No, I didn't watch it happen." The woman's hand was stroking affectionately through the hair of the shifter's head, the hand that was on her neck gently stroking fingertips against her cheek. Her eyes locked onto her own fingertips as her head tilted slightly, watching the way the woman's hair reacted to her touches. Purring very faintly, she stepped up to offer comfort to the creature in front of her as well as look for some sort of affection to help sooth her own desire to lash out at... she didn't know what. Her next words, however, were far less pleasant than before. "If I had, then you'd not be wanting to come near me at all right now."
Having left that hanging in the air, she purred a little louder now and let her gaze look up to the sky as her head tilted back. "Please, do tell me, dear. What is it you witnessed happening? It might help me figure out who to talk to or what to do to start looking for my daughter."
-----------------------------
Lily stepped in close to Krixia as she came close, offering affection. Much like an equine might she placed her head upon the womans shoulder and breathed gently. The words were blunt and to the point and she couldn't really expect any less, "Admittedly, I didn't want to come to either of you." She admitted this openly. But Rhemi was her best friend in the world. She couldn't just let something happen to her and run off like it never happened. It wasn't in her nature, nor her races nature.
She kept her chin on the womans shoulder and spoke slowly, "I...was teaching her to harness magic. She's always doing research...studying. It, reacted to her or something. Her shifting abilities. One minute she was there and the next it was like a wellspring of magic swallowed her and tore apart half the area. I don't know how to explain it." She bit her lip slightly.
---------------------------
When Lily stepped in as well, one arm wrapped around the young looking woman, the other hand still running her fingers back and forth against the top of the woman's head. "It's best you did." She also didn't expand upon that, but the more she listened, the more her purrs were joined by growling.
In a strange noise the two sounds collided the longer she stood there. Her eyes closed and she let her head tilt over to rest against Lily's. "Thank you for telling me that. Had I known that was something she was doing as deeply as she was..." Cutting herself off, however, she opened her eyes and just looked in front of where she stood.
"This, unfortunately, is not the best timing for something like this to happen. I may need to ask of you something I would normally do myself. There's things going on I shouldn't speak of aloud that threaten life of many that will call for me to try and slow for further aid soon. Would you hear me out and look for some things for me, for Rhemilya?"
------------------------------
Lily knew there was a slight threat, a slight warning beneath those words. And for good reason. This was the womans daughter they were speaking of. She nodded slightly and just stood there in her embrace, the scent of nature filling her nostrils and doing well to calm her slightly. Perhaps panicking wasn't the best decision at the moment. She was doing her best to calm down, even as the woman purred and growled at the same time. Choose your words carefully, she told herself.
"Well...she just wanted to try and she asked. How could I say no?" She frowned deeply and shuddered slightly again and then slowly stepped back, allowing herself to meet the womans eyes now that it was out in the open, although she couldn't hold it and kept turning her eyes to her toes, wiggling them into the dirt slightly.
"Anything. For both of you." She said simply. She really didn't have a choice in the matter. Could she really say no? She had to do what she could for her friend.
---------------------
Growling and pause stopped when Lily stepped back. She matched that gaze and her right hand reached out, placing her fingertips under the creature's chin. She tilted Lily's head up some while tilting her own slightly, trying to get those eyes back onto hers. She held that chin until eye contact was made once again.
"Do you know the mountains? The mountains me and my cats inhabit now that they're a part of Tyran?" She points towards them, in the general direction of where the temple of peace and creation used to still be called that. "It's not far from the temple, for ones such as us." There was a small purr again after she spoke this.
"What I need you to do is go there, and prepare for a bit of a walk. You need to purposefully get lost, and walk along the mountain walls until you finally realize you've been going in circles. Turn towards the mountain wall as soon as you finally figure it out. A path that was not there before will be. You will enter a cave. Inside will be a spirit of stone."
Taking a deep breath, she finally pulls her hand away from the unicorn's face and lets the breath out slowly. "Once you meet him, he'll ask what you want. I need you to ask him how to find my daughter. You must tell him my name, and that I sent you personally, and that I will pay his price."
Not because she doubted Lily understood, but for the simple fact of how important the issue was to her... "If you understand, will you do this?"

Find the spirit. Everything would be ok. Those were Krixia's instructions. Or at least, the condensed version of them. Luckily for Lily she had a good memory and so the strangely laid out instructions were easy enough for her to recall. Through the deep forests and to the mountain she was told to find. She wasn't sure what to expect within the cave nor what would be waiting for her. Hopefully it wasn't dangerous. Lily did not posess much in the way of fighting prowess after all.
The unicorn's equine form slowly melted away as she slowed down to a walk just outside the cave. Platinum blonde hair fell down her back in a bit of a mess. Krixia had said to remain calm. And so she would. She adjusted the ocean-inspired robes that Rhemi had made for her and walked into the cave quietly. She paused for a moment so her eyes could adjust to the lower light.
She was looking for a spirit. Something she had not dealt with before. As she walked quietly, bare feet skipping over rough stone she called out, "H...hello?" Came her voice, melodic and soft which echoed through the cave, "I'm erm...looking for a spirit?" She shook her head a little, wondering how ridiculous she sounded walking into some old cave and calling out for some sort of spirit. But she doubted Krixia would lead her astray if RHemi was involved.
------------------------------------
It was certainly an interesting journey. What Lily might have not known was that she was being followed. Creatures that kept their distance and were tempted to pounce and strike stayed back at the behest of Krixia. Even though she'd not gone herself, she'd sent some of her own breed of tiger to follow and guard.
This was no simple path that she would take. If she followed Krixia's directions, even her tigers would eventually witness Lily disappearing into the snow, literally and figuratively. That's the thing about seeking spirits. Sometimes you end up where you were never trying to be.
Once in the cave, Lily would find that after she spoke, it wasn't so hard to see any longer. Soft green lights filled the cave ceiling in mossy coverings. The passage into the cave, however, would be heard coming to a close, but there was plenty of air to still breathe, for now. With a tiny rumble, the ground shook for a couple of seconds under Lily's feet, but it stopped just as abruptly as it came then there was silence. A few seconds later, the shaking would return, but the epicenter was more in front of Lily's form. The same moss covered rocks that lit up would push out from the ground and a brighter light shined around the both of them.
By the time the rock formation came out, it took a couple steps and looked more like an amalgamation of various rocks than a creature. Bipedal in nature, the spirit had some rocks floating around it as well, it's eyes two bright blue lights that put a nice contract to the atmosphere. The aura put out by the being was rather... calming in a sense. It was neutral by nature.
Staring at the young looking woman, it spoke with a rumbling, scratchy, deep voice. "Creature of nature. You have no business with us. Who sends you?"
----------------------------------
Lily hated snow. She'd be making Rhemi clean the stalls for a week for making her trek through it. Then again, there was a chance she'd never see the girl again and that thought was sobering. She slipped throught he snow and into the cave, resisting the panicked urge rising up in her stomach as the entrance to the cave rumbled and closed. She glanced over her shoulder as the last of the waning light outside dissapeared, her lavender eyes searching the stone. There was magic here, she could feel it.
She felt the rumbling and stopped walking. Looking around for the source as it waned and then started again in front of her. Rocks rose up, and she had to narrow her eyes as light enveloped the rocks that wer rising up, forming some sort of strange creature she'd never seen before. She'd seen elementals before but this was nothing like that. This was something very different and if it weren't for the calming aura that washed over her, the fight of flight natured Lily would have been long gone.
For Rhemi. That was her strength here.
She studied the creature for a long moment until her own eyes settled upon the bright blue lights that marked what she hoped were the creatures eyes. The voice that came forth was...earthy. That was the best description she could come up with. Lily reached up, a hand nervously smoothing out her hair as she weighed her response.
"I do have business with you. I've been sent here, by Krixia. To ask a favor." Her voice was a little bit shaky.
------------------------------------
Even if it was only a few minutes, it still felt like ages before the creature broke the silence and spoke Krixias name, long and slowly. She shuffled nervously, her form wavering slightly and threatening to revert to her natural form. In all fairness, it was the form she was more comfortable in after all. She bit her lip gently and looked to the side at the posed questions.
Even if it was unintentional, Lily was learning more about Krixia as well. What did the woman do to tax herself so much? These were questions that might be brought up later. For now though, "She has offered...to pay your price. In exchange for helping her to find her daughter, who was seemingly swallowed by magic." How else could she explain it? She bit her lip again and lowered her eyes.
"Although she offered. I don't think she should have to pay your price solely on her own. It was my fault Rhemi dissapeared." She added this quickly, she felt guilty after all.
-----------------------------
Again, there was a long silence between spirit and Lily after she spoke. Though she was not in tune with nature the same way krixia was, it wouldn't be hard for Lily to notice something was actually happening while there was that silence. Little bits of flashing blue energy would seemingly flicker behind the spirit, into the cave wall itself incredibly quick, and disappear just as quick. They weren't even there long enough to light up the room.
The voice came again. "The child of the Shaman and the Goddess. Indeed she is not within the energies of the lands, yet still alive. We see her, we know where she is. This can be done. The most primal and ancient of things will be required for this to come to pass without lasting reprocussions. We need essence for payment. You may tell her she will get her desire answered in this, but the price will be high. Something, I'm certain, she will already know."
A softer, quieter tone came from the spirit now. "Deliver these words back to Krixia, and do not come looking for me here again. You will not find me like this."
Soon after those words were spoken, the mass stepped backwards, back into the cave wall and the rumbling that came with the cave's mouth closing was heard once more, signaling it's reopening, the light from outside flooding in once more.
All the light from the moss receded, leaving the white of the snowy outside air.
-----------------------------
The long silences were driving her nuts. As if she wasn't already on edge! Then again, she noticed it. The tiny shafts of flashing blue light flitting through the cave wall and the creature she was speaking to. She had good eyes and so she was able to watch them for a few moments before the voice echoed through the cave once more. The voice made her shuffle back a little bit.
The creature knew who she spoke of. And the fact that the girl was still alive, made it hard for Lily to hide the relief that flooded her face at the comment. But she was not in these lands. Lily's mind flitted through the potential scenarios. Magic could do a great many things. Alternate realities, Dimensional pockets and even time travel. Of course, none of these were guaranteed forms of magic.
"What is essence?" She asked quickly. But it would seem the conversation was coming to a close as the creature told her to deliver the words back to Krixia before dissapearing intot he wall. She stood there as the cold from outside creeped back in, making her shiver.
"I'm not a bloody messenger bird." She mumbled lightly. Tugging the cloak back around herself a little bit more she stood there for the next half an hour, digesting the facts and trying to figure out what to do. The obvious was to deliver the message to Krixia. But after forcing herself to get lost to find this place, how did she find her way back? She walked to the cave entrance and looked down the mountainside.
A quick breeze blew away her human form leaving her once again an equine who cantered off down the mountain. She'd find her way back as quickly as she could.
