*The clomping of horse hooves echoed into the cool night air. The panting stallion brought its rider ever closer to that speck of light that was once no more than a twinkle in the far off distance. Pulling hard on the reigns, he brought the beast beneath him to a dust stirring stop. A piercing gaze settled on the city he knew far too well...and yet he knew it not at all. The sight of if caused his jaw to clench. He leaned forward, bringing a gloved hand to the horses massive neck to give it a reassuring pat."
"This is the right place...I'm sure of it. But I'll be damned if I recognize a thing."
*He urged the horse on with a swift kick to either side and a clicking of his tongue. They set off at a gentle trot, finding the city center nearly empty. He glanced from alley way to darkened corner. What had happened here. Up ahead he recognized the tavern. The tavern. What were the locals calling it these days? Who was the proprietor? The horse eased up to the side of the tavern and came to a halt, snorting his disapproval of the horrendous smell emitting from the backside of this building. He swung his leg over the backside of the horse and lowered himself to the ground skillfully, patting his steed once more before tussling his mane.*
"I'll be back."
*The horse stamped its feet several times then wandered over to a puddle of water and began lapping greedily. The cloaked figure ascended the few steps to the tavern then pressed a hand against the door and gave it a quick shove open. Stepping inside, he paused and took it all in. This was not the place he remembered. He looked to the bar. He glanced to the several tables that were scattered here and there. Nothing. Not one face of the few that were here did he recognize. A hand moved to rub the back of his neck in thought as he peered from beneath a low riding hood. As the hand lowered, he touched his shoulder were those tags once rested. Long gone. Was anything left? A drink...that would do him good. A drink....*

Was above, walking the rafters of the Tavern as her mother once did when she kept watch over the patrons. The door flung open and a cloaked figure made his way inside. Head canted to the left as those baby blue eyes watched him make his way to the bar for a drink. There was something about the way he carried himself. Something about the way his hand reached for his shoulder as if he were missing something. Curious of the man, she kept her mother's old bow which held two symbols upon it. One held the symbol of the zX, the other held the symbol from when her mother was the Goddess of Neutrality. The satchel which held her arrows were draped on her right shoulder, adorning the same two symbols .
Slowly she descended from the rafters, fluttering her wings as she did. The tips of her toes touched the wooden floorboards first, then the balls of her feet. She stood 5ft in height, long pointed ears, her baby blue corset practically a heart, exposing the tops of her breasts and the bottom tip ending just above her belly button which was pierced with a hoop. That long raven hair, pulled into a high pony tail, with curly whisps hanging down the sides. Form fitted leather pants adorned her lower body, her feet bare.
Not many peeked her curiosity, she mainly stayed in those rafters. This man however, she just could not pinpoint it. Moving a couple of stools over from where the man stood, she brought that silver bow up, placing it on the bar top. When Wendy asked her what she wished for a drink, Sabrina bowed her head to the woman before raising it and spoke, "Would one be so kind as to pour me an ale.?" those eyes slowly shut then reopened.

*Pushing himself up to the bar top, he waved down the bar wench and waited for her to approach. As she did, gloved hands rose to grasp the hood on either side of his face and shove it back. Onyx black hair, tinted with hints of aged silver here and there, spilled from beneath.*
"I suppose you still stock Bloodwyne in these parts."
*She nodded and hurried off to fetch a glass and an open bottle. When she returned, she quickly filled the goblet nearly to the rim, sloshing a bit on the counter top before she corked the bottle and slid the chalice of brew towards him. A hand dug into his pocket, rummaging around for the one of the few coins that he still possessed. Fingers curled around it and he brought it forth, twirling it in his fingers for a moment before sliding it across the bar top. It was in that moment, as his hand curled around the goblet that he heard the fluttering of wings. Bringing the rim of the cup to his lips, he sipped slowly as he turned to find the source of the noise, following her with his eyes as she approached the bar. There was something...familiar. Eyes narrowed slightly as the bow was placed on the bar top and he spied the symbols. The glass lowered back to the bar and he cleared his throat, that same itch of longing stirring at his shoulders.*
"I thought..."
*He didn't finish the sentence. Instead, he let the thought fade into nothing as he took in her countenance. One crystal blue eye settled on her, the other was dark and all but concealed by a large scar that ran from just beneath his hairline to mid cheek. He nodded to the bow as he took another sip.*
"I thought I was the only old relic that survived from that age..."

Baby blues looked to the man as he began to speak. Wendy came back with her ale and she reached for the glass, curling those long slender fingers around it. Bringing it up and to her lips, she slowly drew in a sip, letting the liquid flow into her mouth then lowered the glass as she swallowed. When the man spoke again, motioning to the bow, Sabrina caught it out of the corner of her eye. She turned to face the man who sat there. A soft chuckle escaping those brown lips. "Tis my mother's bow. For she and my father left here shortly after my brother and I were born. For they said ways of old had changed." Those baby blues looked the man over, then to his face before settling on his eyes, "One's scar. May I ask thee what had happened?"

(continued in room)
Malachi - 06/26/2017 He leaned into the bar, letting his hair fall to shroud his face as forearms came to rest before him. His initial curiosity about who her mother and father would have been to possess a bow emblazened with the zX crest was immediately erased by her question about his scar. He thought for several moments...did he even remember? It had been with him so long, he rarely thought of its origins any more. A gloved hand rose to his face and brushed the hair back as he leaned slightly back away from the bar and allowed the glass to find his lips again. A long pull was taken from the brew inside, crimson staining his lips. He swallowed then finally spoke, clearing his throat just before he did. "A person of my position....so many years ago....tended to draw the attention of those hungry for an increase of their own positions." A smile touched his lips as he talked about days so far removed from the present. He glanced around the pub, the quiet tavern that was now nothing more than a relaxing spot to prop up ones feet. "In fact," he turned to place his back to the bar top and pointed with glass in hand at the far corner where a darkened fireplace, devoid of any warmth, lay dorment. "If I recall, it was an attempt on my life in that very spot that gave me this." Another grin as he raised the glass and motioned to his eye before taking another long drink, draining the remaining liquid.
Sabrina watched the man curiously as he turned and spoke of days past. She brought the glass of ale to her lips and drew in another sip from it. Those baby blue hues moved to the blackened fireplace within the corner. Her eyes studied his features as they looked back to him, seeing how he grinned at the story. "One misses those times, does one not?" bringing her left hand up, she paused before touching the flesh of his scar, "May I?"
Malachi When she reached out to touch his scar, his initial reaction was to shrink away....avoid that physical contact. Instead, he gave a nod of his head and allowed her to touch the scar. As she did, he motioned to the keep for another bloodwyne. "Just old skin these days..." he winked at her, "I'm an antique in comparison to what I see about town these days. A relic from days probably better left forgotten."
Sabrina slender fingers touched his scar and her lips turned into a grin. A hint of mischief glimmered in her eyes. she had to close them for a second, reeling her father's side of her back in. When those eyes reopened, they looked to his, "Does one truely feel that he is probably left forgotten?" closing her eyes once again, then reopening them, "Or does one wish to make his presence known once more?" another grin, another hint of mischief and this time it was her who winked at him. She finished the ale, it not really doing anything for her and looked to the bar keep, "Bloodwyne"
Malachi Her touch was delicate...soft. As her fingers left his face, the keep returned with his bloodwyne then quickly scurried off to find more for his new drinking companion. He realized proper introductions had not been made...and that was as good an excuse as any to get out of answering that loaded question. He offered a hand to her. "I suppose if we are going to travel down that road, being on a first name basis at least might help." He waited to see if she would take his offered hand or not. Either way, he would continue... "My name is Malachi. And you are?"
Sabrina would bring her hand to shake his as he offered it, those her fingers and frame tiny, her grip was strong and firm. she gave his hand a shake, "Tis a pleasure to meet one dear Malachi, for I am Sabrina, Daughter of Saylvica and Loki." after the introductions were made, she turns to the tender who brought her drink and wraps her slender fingers around the glass. Bringing it up to her lips, she took a long pull from it, those eyes closing as she savoured the taste of her drink. After a coupld of gulps, that glass lowered and she looked to him, "that taste better."
Malachi He took another long pull from his glass of bloodwyne then let the cup come to rest on his knee. His head tilted slightly to the side as he studied her. "You speak so proper. You bring the mind a level of...sophistication...proper up bringing...that I thought was long dead." Another sip of the bloodwyne and a droplet of the crimson liquid slid slowly from the corner of his mouth and down along the edge of his chin. The back of his free hand came to his face and caught the droplet, tongue darting out to collect it quickly. His eyes fell on the zX symbols again. "The days of such...structure and order...I'm afraid they've faded into the sea of the past forever to be just memories." He touched his shoulder where his crest once rested. "I miss those days." He let his hand join the one grasping the glass as they both rested in his lap now, eyes settling on her again. "Did you come out of the rafters...just to touch my scar?"
Sabrina Sabrina's crystal blue eyes watched him as he took another long pull from his glass of bloodwyne, he then let the cup rest on his knee. "I thank one." she spoke as he talked about her speach. He took another sip of his bloodwyne, a droplet of crimson liquid slid slowly from the corner of his mouth and down along the edge of his chin. She drew in another deep unneeded breath as she closed her eyes, trying to keep her mischevous side at bay... damned her father. As she let the breath out, she opened her eyes once more, just in time to see his tongue darting out and licking the back of his hand that he used to wipe his chin off with. Her toes began to curl in her boots. Trying hard to maintain control. He looked to the zX symbol on that silver bow once more and spoke about days of structure and order being faded into the sea of the past forever. Those hues glanced to his shoulder as he touched it, and those pointy ears picked up his words of missing those days. His hand joined the other in grasping his glass and he asked her if she came from the rafters just to touch his scar. A soft chuckle escaped her, "I had not seen one's scar until one's hood was pulled away. For I left them because one walked in with such a demand of attention, I figured I would oblidge"
Malachi His own blue hue searched her, joined by the vacant dark eye peeking from beneath the jagged edges of his scar. He blinked once. Twice. Slowly. His chest rose and fell beneath the confines of his cloak as the glass was rested on the bar top. "You speak so...proper. A structure of dialect that should probably be extinct...it doesn't serve...one...well these days." He glanced around, letting out a disappointed sigh at the near emptiness of the pub. "This place used to...thrive." His eyes settled on a far corner, a smile twinkling in his eyes. A far off look of longing that didn't fit with the thin line of his lips that refused to change. They parted and the words of a broken hearted lover, laced with regret spilled forth. "In that very corner...near that hearth...I worked out many a plan for this place. We..." he caught his words and cleared his throat. "It was a simpler time...right?" He looked back to her as if searching for something. That twinge on his shoulders, a hand rose and he stroked that empty space almost as a reflex, adjusting a symbol that was no longer there.
Sabrina he spoke of her speach once again. Those black wings ruffled slightly as he said it did not serve one well these days, "Whom is to judge the way any shall speak?" his disappointed sigh as he looked around made her heart ache. he looked towards a far corner, her own eyes following his lead. His voice, it was as if he was broken hearted, his words almost as if he were wallowing in the past. This brought a single blood tear to form and fall from her right eye. A trail of crimson streaming down her cheek as she looked back to him. She noticed his hand moving to adjust what was no longer there and another crimson tear fell
Malachi He forced a smile and brought a hand up, knuckles brushing lightly against her cheek as he caught each tear. His hand came to his mouth and he kissed away the crimson. "I meant no offense. It's just...a remnant of a bygone time. I quite welcome it." Fingers curled around his mug of bloodwyne as he brought it to his lips again to take a slow swig. Lowering the tankard, he posed a question. "What has kept you hear all this time?"
Sabrina lids fell over her eyes as she felt his knuckles brushing lightly against her cheek. They slowly parted and those hues looked to him once again as he kissed away the crimson. He spoke of welcoming her speach and a soft smile began to curl on darkened lips. She watched as he took another sip and asked her what had kept her there, all this time. "One should know, for I nae am from the days of old here. For this bow and satchel are my mother's. For I came here to venture the lands where my parents met. Hoping that perhaps I would find the same fate." she closed her eyes, drawing in a deep breath and letting it out as she reopened them. "For I walk these rafters in search of two whom my mother told me about. The first the man whom created her, the second the woman whoms rib my mother was created from. Sadly neither have shown."

Malachi - Yesterday at 4:42 PM She spoke so....proper. She reminded him of the pomp and frill that once adorned that mighty hall he'd only just recently began to clean and refurbish. The Night Lord Manor, there was much work to be done. Downing the last of his bloodwyne, the tankard found the countertop and his fingers released it. He looked at her for several long seconds before he finally spoke, a tired breath slipping from him just before the words. "You are going to find that most everyone from that time has moved on..." A soft blue hue found the hearth and settled on its cold emptiness. "...I suppose the spark that once drew them here has lost a bit of its luster." Looking back to her, he added with a curious smile touching the corner of his lips, "But with a little luck, we might catch lightening in a bottle once again." There was a playful wink before he pushed away from the countertop and tugged his jacket a bit tighter around him then coaxed his hood back over his head. "Care for a walk?"
Sabrina watched him closely. He had such a sadness about him. A sadness for the way things have changed perhaps. He looked to the hearth, then back to her. That curious smile he formed and the words that followed, caused a smile to curl upon her own. The wink made her shiver slightly and those baby blue hues followed his movements as he pushed from the countertop and tugged his jacket tighter. When he hid behind the hood once more, her lips almost pouted. For she was enjoying looking at him. He looked distinguished. Like a man whom had seen much. He asked her if she cared for a walk and that tiny body hopped off the stool she was on. "'twould be a pleasure." A smile touched those soft darkened lips once again, she waited to see if he would offer his arm
Malachi - Yesterday at 5:03 PM A true gentleman, any gentleman...would offer an arm. He had been royalty once. It was in his blood. Once she had accepted his offer of a walk, he crooked his arm and waited for her slender one to slide within the confines of his escort. He glanced down once she had (if she did), then looked back up as they moved side by side across the floor. He would give the door a gentle shove to allow it to open, pausing to let her hand fall from his arm as she would be permitted to step across the threshold of the doorway first. It was only proper, and was that not what he wanted to restore? Order? He followed close behind and resumed his place beside her, descending the steps one at time slowly as he glanced towards the sky studying it. "Always with the weather." As he spoke, clouds were ominous in the distance. A definite threat of rain. He led her to where Nox was tethered gave a pat to his steeds massive side. She snorted her greeting, pawing at the ground restlessly. "I know girl...we are leaving." He stepped nearer to the horse, allowing Sabrina's hand to fall from the crook of his arm only to catch it within his own hand. That piercing blue hue stared out from beneath his hood as he helped her up onto Nox.
Sabrina watched as he offered his arm to her. She slipped her's between the opening of his arm and his side. Her other coming up and fingers gently lay against the lower part of the arm. Footsteps glided across the floor as she walked with him towards the door. Once there, she pulled her arms from his and awaited for the door to open. Once it did, she moved outside then awaited for him to step out and offer his arm once more. When he did, her own arms took their position against his. Footsteps descended the stairs slowly with him. This was the first time, she had walked arm in arm with someone besides her father. It felt nice, propper. "They say that rain cleanses the land of sin for those whom have recent past"
Malachi - Yesterday at 5:52 PM After seeing that she was safely settled, he slipped himself up and onto Nox's back. He assumed her arms would snake around his waist at some point. He gave a gentle nudge into Nox's sides and clicked his tongue to urge her on. She moved at a slow trot, the gentle bouncing was soothing. "It would take a monsoon to wash away the sins of Tyran." Reigns gripped firmly in his hands, he guided Nox out of the city. As the murmurings of the town center faded into the distance, he began to speak more freely. "I, myself, have sinned greatly against Tyran. I deserted her when she needed me most." He grew silent, not speaking for several minutes. Pulling Nox to a hault, he glanced from side to side then clicked his tongue and pulled the reigns to guide her left. The rain began to pour down all around them. "The storm of rebirth is on its way...I assure you."
Sabrina once he was on the steed's back, her arms came up to snake around his waist and she inched herself closer to his back. The slow trott of the horse felt good. A soft laugh escaping as he spoke of it taking a monsoon to wash the sins away. They rode for several moments in silence, before he spoke again. Speaking of his own sin of deserting Tyran when she needed him most. "One is back now, perhaps she would forgive him for deserting." The skies seemed to open up and the rain around them, heavy. Sabrina tilted her head back, closing her eyes, and allowing the rain to freely touch the flesh of her face. It slid over her flesh and dripped down. She enjoyed the rain, welcomed it in fact. When he spoke, she lowered her head till it was facing forwards once more. "Let this be the storm that one speaks of, My Dear Malachi" her final three words seeming to roll off her tongue as if he were a long time lover
Malachi - Yesterday at 6:18 PM The silky smooth texture of her words washed over him for a second before he responded. "I do not seek forgiveness." They broke through undergrowth into a clearing, the Night Lord Manor sprawled out before them. It was covered in vines and age, long forgotten by the people of Tyran. He raised a hand to his face and nudged back his hood letting the rain spill down across his head and face. He looked over his shoulder at her and nodded back towards the Manor. "This was my home. It doesn't look like much now," smiling he turned his gaze back to the manor, "...in time it will be restored to its former glory." Another click of his tongue and Nox was trotting across the cobblestone bridge that granted access to the Manor grounds. The clip clopping of her hooves against the stone was soothing. As they drew nearer, he spoke again. "Until you find what you are looking for, the extra company would be welcomed."
Sabrina looked to the Night Lord Manor, listening to how it was his home. As the horse trotted against the cobblestone bridge, she spoke once more, "I would be more than willing to help one restore it. For twould give me something to do besides wait within the rafters day in and day out, waiting for one that may never come. For the one I ride with now, brought me out of those rafters, out from the confines within a near desolate Tavern. For that I will show my appreciation of one by helping him" a smile touching her lips as he spoke of the company being welcomed.
Malachi - Yesterday at 7:11 PM Nox came to a stop on her own just outside the Manor entrance. A routine had developed between her and Malachi. He swung his leg across her back and lowered himself to the ground, turning and offering his hands to help Sabrina down should she need it. Once she was safely on the ground, he would pat Nox on the neck and nod his head to her. She snorted and trotted off, disappearing around the corner of the manor. He watched as Nox disappeared then turned his attentions back to Sabrina and offered a smile. "Yes, the help would be greatly appreciated....there is much to be done here as you will see once we are inside." Moving towards the entry way, he disappeared inside. Once she followed, she would be greeted by high vaulted ceilings and a long hallway that split into three distinct directions several hundred feet from where they entered. The elegance it once possessed was evident if only in certain aspects of what remained. He looked around, eyes moving to the ceilings as he smiled. "I misspoke earlier. This place ~is~ my home."
Sabrina slips her arms from around his waist, slowly, having enjoyed the closeness of the ride when the steed came to a halt. After he slipped from the horse, she swung her leg around, dangling both off the side of the horse. Bringing her hands to his, ahe slipped from the horse, her eyes staying locked on his as she did. Once on the ground, her hands fell to her sides. Those baby blues watching as the horse trotted off then they settled back on him. A smile and nod at his words were given. He led the way into the Manor and she would follow closely behind. Lifting her head slightly once inside, her eyes taking in the view, imagining in her mind how it may have looked long ago and how to restore it to its former beauty. "Once a place becomes a home. Twill always stay with one." Those baby blues looked to his mismatched eyes once again. That right arm rising to touch his scar once more. She felt .... at home
Malachi - Yesterday at 7:37 PM His hand raised to catch hers and grasp it gently. Smiling warmly, he lowered their conjoined hands...holding on to her hand a bit longer than he should have before slipping his fingers from hers. "You are welcome to stay as long as you like. There is a ~lot~ to be accomplished in a short amount of time." He began to move slowly down the hallway, looking up to the tattered paintings that adorned the corridor. They no longer held their luster and charm. Reaching up, he grasped the frame of one and lifted it from its hook. He brought it to eye level and tried to make out what it might have been. "We lose what makes us...us...sometimes. But do we cease to be as unique? Can we never return to that...glory?" His hand slid up the frame and across the fabric, fingertips grasping a hanging flap of canvas. Smoothing it out, his eyes narrowed as his own face stared back at him.
Sabrina drew in a breath as his hand caught hers. A soft smile played on her features as a sparkle shimmered in her eyes. She felt the need to kiss him in that moment and lids closed over her eyes. When they parted, she let out the breath and nodded her head at those words of her being welcome to stay as long as she liked. He began to walk down the hall and she walked with him. She looked to the tattered paintings, studying each one with her eyes. Those baby blues watch as he lifted the frame of one off it's hook. A hand came up, fingertips curling against his shoulder as he stared at his own face. "I believe that one only loses what makes him unique if only he allows himself to." Tilting her head slightly to the right, "Stories of old, are those of Legends. One could become again if only he rose to be that Legend once again. Let not the stories die, there in his former glory would be restored"
