How strange it was. Returning from another world where you'd lived an entire lifetime. Where you've seen the rise and fall of a kingdom, where you'd seen the world come to it's beginning and end. The very old but also very young Rhemilya Vargo sat on a small stump staring off into the distance over a sizeable pond in the forested area of Tyran. It was her thinking place. Or at least, it used to be...still was. Ugh. World-hopping was confusing. She held up a hand up in the air, rolling her wrist gently and sighing.
"Two days ago...I was ancient. Today I'm fourteen again." She narrowed her brows slightly as she tried to make logical sense of it. The Vargo was always looking for the logical way to pursue things. But that would have to wait for another time. The forest around her was silent and still, the sound of birds were gone and not a sound came from the breeze running through the tree's. She knew what it meant. She knew what it was.
She folded her hands in her lap, "It would seem I cannot get away from you, can I?" She said out loud. To which three humanoid creatures that looked like they were made of shadow emerged from the shadowy forest, each holding a red blade of coalescing shadow, "No matter where you run. We will follow." came their voices, echoey and haunting. Rhemi bit her lip gently and climbed to her feet slowly.
"Fine. But I can try." She then leapt forwards, her form melting and changing into that of a sleek black panther who hit the ground and bounded off at high speed. The shadows launched attacks at her, blades of red flying through the air and dissapearing when they did not hit her. They chased her left and right through the underbrush, just as quick on their two feet as she was on four. She leapt into the air, and then off of a tree to run along the branches. Her footfalls sure enough to keep her racing above. Branches severed as shadows cleaved into them with their blades and she knew if she wasn't quick she was going to be sliced to ribbons...
...Then she hit the edge of the forest. Bursting from the shadowed tree's and losing her footing. She tumbled through the air and slammed into the side of a stranger walking nearby. Her form melting away to her humanoid one as she landed in a heap, "Nnngh."

Sune had been alive for two hundred years and in that time he had been through much and changed much in looks, ability and personality. He had gone from being a slave and test subject to living here in Tyran. His sister Ari and the rest having to save him because he was unable to save himself. She had brought him to live in Silem with the rest of the family but then due to circumstances was forced to move to Night Haven instead.
This move turned out to be just what Sune needed though as he met Wulv and fell in love with them, getting married and having two children. Together they grew and became strong overcoming many an obstacle. Though few in Tyran even knew about this or of the boys struggles. Most here just knew him as that young effeminate bard that sang about love a few too many times and occasionally had a bit of a limp to his step.
He never aged physically beyond looking nineteen which, when combined with his blond hair and blue eyes, had people thinking he must have some elven blood in him somewhere. These days though he had a bit of an odd look with half his hair black and the other half blond. His eyes a mix of black and blue that some say could turn to steal if you upset him.But so far no one had pushed the boy far enough to prove it one way or the other. Not until today.
The day had started out like any other, a cuddle and kiss with his mate before two children came bounding into the room and jumping on there father wanting him to play. He would oblige and chase them around and take them out hunting to hone there skills before returning the home and to bed to nap.
Then it was another cuddle and a kiss while washing down from the morning before getting dressed into his usual bard clothing of a blue pair of pants with black boots and a white shirt that was open at the chest. He knew this meant people could see some of his scars but at least they couldn’t see his right leg.
He would then grab his lute and step out to go and play, a bit of a limp and thud to his step each time that right ld hit the ground. Whistling way a happy sort of tune when suddenly he was being nocked over and onto the ground, hit lute losing a few strings in the fall.
“Oooooff” he grunted as he fell over, the girl practically on top of him as he didn’t have the best of balance. “Are you ok?” he asked and gently removed her from him so he could get up and help her to her feet as well. The lute left forgotten on the path. He looked her over with his blue and black eyes before looking to the forest, able to hear something coming. That’s when his eyes shifted, black and blue combined to make silver. The human looking boy giving a low growl towards the unseen foe.

All she saw was blonde hair and blue eyes before the impact. She ended up flat out on the ground and groaned softly as she sat up, wiping dust from her face and looking at the male she had landed atop. She stared at him a moment as he helped her off and up to her feet. She looked over her shoulder at the shadowy figures looming on the edge of the forest. She watched quietly for a moment before she answered the mans question.
"Ehm....I don't believe so." She said as shadowy figures walked from the branches of the tree's. Looking for all intents like humans made of whirling, coalescing shadow with the exception of one which had similar build to Rhemi who stepped back a little bit. Genuine fear in those eyes of her. Eyes that had once been so confident in herself. She clenched a first at her side.
"Ah, Young again are we Miss Vargo?" Asked the feminine shade with a mouth full of dark red teeth, "So curious to think you could escape to this place."
Rhemi looked at the man, "I would not be upset if you ran." She said quickly with a shaky voice. What was this? Two days ago she'd been a confident warrior. A grown adult capable of facing down just about anything. Now she cowered as a child once more. Mayhap it was this way as her memories and the influence of the other world slowly slipped away from her and felt more like a dream.
"They are after me, and me alone." It seemed she could not escape hell. Even here.
"As we are. Now...we'll drag you back with us alive or dead. Your choice." The shadowy creature said in a voice that was like glass being rubbed down a chalkboard inside an echoey tunnel.

Sune had waited, not out of fear or hesitation but because he was hoping to get a good look at what he might be facing. He had heard her say she wasn’t ok which only confirmed the smell and the feelings he was getting. He was a member of the Shadow Walker’s and knew a shadow demon when he felt one. Hell he was married to a being that was at leas part shadow demon. Not that Rhem knew any of that.
His stance changed as the being came forth, his own shadow shifting in an odd way as he brought his right leg to the front and brought his fists up in a ready guard position. He showed no signs of fleeing or running away. Though his eyes widened a bit at the name Vargo. -A Vargo.. alone.. ? - He thought to himself, used to the family being more the kind to stay so close that even trying to get in to say hi could end in a blade to the throat if you were not careful.
So focused was he on the mention of that name and all it could mean that he almost missed the other things being said. Things that only brought with them more questions. Like what did the creature mean about young again? and referring to this as some other plane?
Everything came back into sharp focus once more as that word “ran” hit his ears. It vibrated through the whole of his body like little shock waves that had him recalling things he would rather not at such moments. The side effect being visible goosebumps on the the visible parts of his chest and face that might fool others into thinking he was indeed afraid.
“I don’t care who they are after. They are shadows and I’m a member of the Shadow Walkers. They are in my domain and hunting on my territory.” He said calmly, lifting that right leg only a fraction before bringing it down again.
The earth shook and a wall of earth came up between them and the shadows, not that this did much beyond annoy the beasts who could pass right through it. Already one was coming through and slashed at the boy. Sune's shadow stretched and in an instant he was gone from Rhem’s sight before appearing once again next to her on the left. His shirt gone as it had been lost to the cut of that first attack, exposing his torso which was covered in the faded marks of abuse and torment.
She would be able to see red lettering done in small red Japanese scroll trailing along the outline of his body as well as on his spine and chest area. The markings glowing as he grabbed up the lute just in time to block one of the beast blades coming at them from the front. This one also treating the earth barrier like nothing. The lute was a lot stronger then it seemed and the blade caught in it.
“Get back he growled” Pushing this second shadow back forcefully with the lute and a grunt. By then the first shadow being had gotten closer and took another swing at Sune's head from the front. Sune ducked, letting go of the lute and hitting the ground with his hands, twisting his body so the motion was directed at Rhem. The earth moved again taking Rhem with it to avoid the initial swing that Sune had just avoided as well as another attack from the third creature whom had circled around.
-I have to think and fast.. This dirt won’t do much if they can go through it.- He thought to himself as he continued to fight the beasts off and keep them at bay.

Rhemi stared quietly at the stranger as he seemed to stand tall and protectively between her and the shadows. She shuffled her feet a bit, ready to stand against them if the boy fled like she recommended. But then he was annoucning himself as a member of a group she had not heard of. Perhaps she had ended up in yet another alternate reality? She shook her head quickly and bit her lip gently, "Just...don't get hurt on my part, alright?" She said quickly. She'd had enough people getting hurt on her part.
The shadows on the other hand were ready to do their deed. They leapt forth from the edge of the forest, only to be stopped by the wall of earth that seemed to leap from the ground, blocking their path temporarily. It was lucky for both Rhemi and the stranger that the shadows were not nearly as strong in this world. THey had strength and they could do damage, but it took very little to blast them from existence.
Rhemi waved her hands about a little bit, frowning. Magic did not work the same way here and so her ability to help was limited to getting out of the way as the boy fought to protect her. A complete stranger, standing up for her. Did she really some how inspire such things? She managed to keep her feet though as the earth rotated and watched as several shadows crept from within the wall of earth like coalescing, living things. They bore their red teeth and leapt at Sune from behind.
Rhim too bore her teeth and leapt forwards, her form melting away to that of her feline form, sharp claws tearing the shadows apart in an agressive leap. And then...they were gone. The shadows hissing and melting away into the wall and forest once more. Leaving them in silence. Rhemi let her feline form melt away and sat there on her butt on the ground. She looked up at Sune.
"I apologize...for having you dragged in to that." She said simply. She was unsure how to accept this whole situation. She owed the male gratitude of course, but her mind was also whirling with what this meant.

His thoughts at first had been on just keeping her out of the way and safe. He had not expected these things to be so easily disposed of and wasn’t sure how he might bring them down when he lacked the shadow magic of his mate.
He had just moved Rhemi out of the way and was standing up again to continue the fight when the girl leapt and shifted, this time saving him from those hideous red claws and teeth. He had to chuckle and smile at that. “Heh and her I was thinking I was rescuing you” he teased the girl as the fight came to a close, looking at her with his eyes gone back to the normal half black and half blue. He chuckled and moved his hand to put the earth back to where it was meant to be, those red marking on his skin glowing lightly as he worked and the boy flinching as a bit of blood came dripping from his nose. He turned to hide this from her which only let her get a better look at the scars from whip lashes on his back. “It’s not a problem at all. I’m not the kind of man that would walk away from someone in trouble” he said as he turned back to her after cleaning the blood from his nose, moving to offer her a hand back up again. The red markings no longer glowed and now that things were calm she would be able to see that a few of the red markings were in fact peoples names etched deeply into the boys skin. The name’s Jin, Zow and Wulv being the only names in english type while the rest were in Japanese scroll.
“My name is Sune and you are a very far way from Blackthorn Keep my lady” he smiled a charming smile and bowed to her. Straitening he moved to grabbed up his Lute from the road once she was on her feet. Looking down and sighing at noticing his shirt was gone. “Always the shirt.. I keep telling Wulv that they need to make the shirts with a strong cloth. I’m honestly starting to think they make it weak on purpose so that they can watch them be torn off.” he half grumble and half laughed in a loving manner.

Rhemi wasn't COMPLETELY helpless. In fact, in the other world she'd been quite the warrior. A protector of the grove of unicorns where she had spent most of her days. She'd also led the resistance against the queen, but that had ultimately been a losing battle. It still pained her even now how many had died in that battle. She wasn't sure if that particular regret would ever go away. She made a pained face for a moment as she'd landed and shifted back to her regular form.
Her claws seemed so much less sharp, her feline form so much smaller. Then again, the shadow creature had seemed to not notice as her claws were tearing through it like butter. She knew they weren't defeated as she sat there in the dirt and then accepted the hand to help her to her feet. She dusted off her temple robes gingerly, "Well, you were rescuing me. Because there is no chance I'd be able to take on half a dozen shades on my own in this world and form." She made a sour face.
Observant eyes did catch the blood leaking froms the mans nose as he turned to clean himself up. She noted this but since he was hiding, she said nothing and just let her eyes roam quietly over his form. He had some very unique markings she'd never seen before and the names etched into his skin seemed to hold some significance even if she did not recognize them. She offered a light smile as she said he was not the type to leave someone behind.
"You'd be surprised how long it had been since I heard someone say that and mean it." Especially when she'd been in a world that was basically survival of the fittest and nothing more.
"Well it is nice to meet you Sune. Although, I do not hail from Blackthorn like many of my other family." She motioned to the symbol of light on the back of her robes, "The temple is my home." She smiled lightly and then looked at his lack of shirt and giggled a little.
"Luckily for you, you've run into the right person." She plunged a hand into her satchel and after a minute pulled out a white silk shirt embroidered with yellow flower petals on the sleeves, "Ehm...it's a bit girly. Sorry." She tossed it to him and rshrugged helplessly.

As Rhemi's eyes roamed over his form she could of course see the various fades scars from the boys abusive past. He was slender but muscular with a rather effeminate look to his face. All it would take would be a bit of make up and a dress and you could easily mistake this boy for a girl. When he had turned back around he had given her a smile again.
“So a shape shifting Vargo? Never seen that one before..” he admitted and lofted a thin brow in surprise as she told him it had been a long time since any had told her they wouldn’t leave others behind and meant it.
“Really? ..” his voice holding a mix of confusion and surprise now as she showed him the insignia of the Temple of light. The sun danced along his already tanned and scared skin, though he didn’t seem to care that his old faded scars were in full view. Muscles showed more clearly when he shifted his free hand onto his hips, the other lofting the lute onto his shoulder. His black and blue eyes scanned the area about them for signs of any more trouble as he spoke to her and he sniffed at the air.
“That does surprise me… I mean I thought all Vargo lived at Blackthorn…. Not just that but the fact that they nor the others of the cloth would come to your aid is very strange…” He told her, his brow now furrowed in thought.
The furrow left his face as she giggled and tossed a shirt at him. He flushed a bit and fumbled to catch it, dropping the lute in favour of catching the shirt, the instrument making a bit more of a metallic sound as it hit the ground despite looking like it was made from wood.
He held the shirt up to look at it. “IT”S SO PRETTY!” he half squealed and hugged it to his chest as he spun in place, now acting very girly. He stoped as he realized she was watching him and coughed.
“I.. um.. I mean it’s alright..” he flushed a bright red in the face and had to look away from her a moment. He smiled a bit, thinking some internal though as he now put the shirt on and ruffled his hair a bit which only added to the the femininity of the scene. Clothed once more he limped over to pick up the lute, his right leg hitting the ground harder then the left. He settled the lute onto his right shoulder and turned to face her once more.
“why were those things trying to kill you and do you think there will be more.. also.. um.. you never told me your name unless you just want me to call you Vargo the whole time..” he smirked at her, looking more like a girl in that shirt she gave him to wear.

Rhemi blew a few loose strands of hair from her face as she noted the curious body type of Sune. It was like he possessed features from both genders. It was cute. Already her mind was flitting through clothing designs even if she hadn't put needle to thread in quite a long time. She rolled her neck a bit, this young body was so very strange to her. and she wasn't sure if she'd ever be able to get used to it again. Maybe she should use magic to age? She frowned, her parents likely wouldn't be fans of that.
"Yeah, the shapeshifting comes from the non-vargo side. It comes in handy to say the least. That being said, It's weird because it's now a different size than I'm used to. Same with this body." She shrugged a little bit and leaned against one of the nearby trees after showing him the temple robes she wore, "Well, I may have lived at Blackthorn, but it makes more sense for me to live at the temple. It's where one of my mums lives and I do tend to follow in the temple footsteps." She was a very devoted child of the light. And creation before that, although she still kept her very creative nature.
"I don't see much of my extended family admittedly."
Now that she thought about it, she hadn't met many of them at all. She shrugged a little. She would some day. When she tossed the shirt at him she dug around in the satchel for a few more moments and then closed the top of it as she watched his rather ecstatic reaction to the shirt. She stifled a small giggle, "I'm glad you like it. It was a gift for a friend...but I don't believe I'll ever be seeing her again so it's all yours." She waited for him to pull the shirt on.
"So...what's wrong with your leg?" She asked with a curious tilt of her head. She eyed his leg quietly as he walked.
"As for those creatures. There will likely be more...we did not disperse them all. I am unsure if there are more than what we saw though, just them being here is...worrying." She extended a hand to him, it was soft and small, "I'm Rhemilya Vargo, Most just call me Rhemi though for short. And you?"

He had listened to her talk, feeling at the shortness of the shirt that was on him but rubbing his arms. “mmm.. soft…” he half purred, nodding as she explained the shifting to him “I see.. well I can change shape too, into a fox. However unlike you my clothing doesn’t tend to change with me” he flushed and giggled a bit.
“hmm so let me get this strait.. you cam here form some other place and now that you are here things like your size and such are not the same?” her asked now rubbing at his bare chin. “Can I ask what were you before you came here?” he would asked, wanting to get the full Picture and moving his left hand onto his hips as he assumed a more comfortable stance, leaning on his right leg for once.
His left hand moved to run through that black and blond hair of his. “I understand.. My sister Ari use to serve there but she gave it up to spend more time with family and to focus on her art shop.Would you b related to Sin then?” he asked, expecting the answer to be yes but not wanting to assume anything.
A sigh escaped him as she talked about not sing her family “I know how that is.. things get busy” H agree with another warm smile on his face that soon left “wait.. why won’t you be seeing her again?” he wants to know, his eyes looking to the ground as she brought up his leg. “I’ll show you but.. you have to promise not to freak out” he told her.
Blue/ back hues widen when she mentions there will be more. “that can’t be we must stop the from coming through. He looked to her hand and took it with that fresh left hand “I’m Sune Oinari. Nice to meet you Rhem. Let o see what we can do about keeping more of those things from coming through.” he said seriously, noticing how soft her hands were in comparison to his own brought ones that has been hardened at the finger tips from playing the lute

"Funny you say that, it took me forever to figure out how to properly infuse the material so that it changes along with my form. I could make you some clothing some day if you'd like?" She'd made some for herself as well as her friend Lily who also tended to lose her clothing during her shifting previously. Rhemi let the offer hang in the air and would happily do something up for him if he liked.
She rubbed her head gently as her words made him rather confused. She bit her lip gently, "How do I explain this..." She pondered for a long few moments, idly twirling a few strands of hair around her finger before speaking, "I was born in this land, this world. Through a recent accident, I ended up in...I guess you'd call it an alternate world, a different timeline. I spent the last fifty three years there and recently ended up back in this world. But it would seem that time moves differently here, so when I came back...I was young again." She rubbed her head a little bit, "Does that make sense?" She asked with a tilted head.
"I've met Ari! She is lovely." SHe remembered meeting the phoenix before, though it was technically a long time ago for her now. She nodded quickly, "Yup, Sinead is one of my mothers. Krixia is the other. Don't ask how I was born. I still don't know the details." She had posed the question before, but the answer she'd recieved from both her parents had been confusing and uninformative.
Rhemi waved a hand quickly, "It's not a big deal. I see the family that matters to me most often enough. I'm not complaining." She motioned to the shirt and spoke, "The shirt in question was made for a friend from the other world. I no longer reside there and have no viable way of returning. Therefore, it is a gift ungiven." She offered a smile to show it wasn't such a big deal. She had no desire to return to that dark land.
"I've seen many things, I can assure you I won't freak out." She was after all, a very level headed Vargo. It took a fair amount of crazy to unnerve her.
"I'm sure there is a way, unless they just followed me through the stream. It is possible they are all that will ever get through." She shook his hand gently and nodded, "Alright, but I'm not sure where to start admittedly."

Sune got an excited look on his face at the offer “could you please.. I mean it’s not like I care if I’m naked, but others might not lie it so much” he smirked as he looked at her, taking in her form, she was a pretty girl for sure and despite how young she looked he could tell she was very mature. He listened intently to what she said, a single yellow fox ear popping into view through that hair of his and swivelling towards the forest so he could listen better. He nodded “after some of teethings I had been though yes.. It’s much like the glade where the fae live. Time there does not travel the same either.” he replied, adjusting the lute on his shoulder. He smiled and reached out to pat her shoulder with his free left hand. “Don’t worry about it… I know how I was born and it’s ally not that interesting” he chuckled.
“Ah I see.. well then I’m sorry for your loss though I’m sure Sinead and Krixia will be more than glad to know you have returned. I shall where this shirt with great pride and kept safe” he said, putting his hand to his chest to swear to her, a soft red glow coming from the marking under the shirt she had seen before, making him wince.
Hearing her say she wouldn’t freak out he would pull up his pant leg so she would see the fully metallic right leg underneath. It as truly a magnificent bit of work and looked in shape to be just the same as a real leg. the surface of it covered with magical runes and engravings to make it work. “I lost my real leg.. so Gwen and hotaru made this for me so I can walk. It’s a bit heavy though so it can make me limp a bit.” he shrugged as a limp was a small price to pay to be able to ask again.
He let the pant leg fall and moved now towards the forest, another black fox ear coming into view through that hair of his as he focuses both on the forest. “Well.. the easiest thing to do would be to trace your steps and if my nose is correct.. you cam from this way” the boy said and took hr hand gently in his to lead the way, giving it a squeeze as if to say he would keep her safe.

Rhemilya sighed lightly and tousled her hair gently, "Well, let me make sure all my old materials are still hanging around my room and I would be happy to. After all, you did kind of step in to help me out without even knowing who I was. It's the least I can do." She glanced back towards the temple of Light in the distance. She still had yet to go and see her parents, she didn't even know how long it had really been here. Based on the quick conversation with Lily earlier it had only been a few days at most. For her...it had been fifty plus years. She narrowed her eyes a little bit as her memory flitted about. She wondered if she would forget it all?
She noted the curious fox ear that popped into existence atop his head. It would seem she was going to run into all the non-human creatures in the future. She'd gotten used to them though, she'd lived with unicorns for many years in the other world so shapeshifters were not at all unfamiliar to her. She cast a sidelong glance at Sune and frowned slightly, "Fair enough. I appreciate the comforting words." She dusted the last bits of non-existent dirt from her robes. A habit she had retained even in the other world. She hated getting dirty.
"Yeah...still trying to figure out how to break that news to them. Hi mum and mum...I'm back, but y'know...I haven't seen you in half a century. But its cool, I'm back now." She laced her words with sarcasm and sighed lightly, glad that he liked the shirt. She pushed hands into her pockets and traced a foot in the dirt quietly. She was so all-over-the-place since she got back. It was like two different halves of her had merged. It was a strange feeling.
She was distracted though as he pulled up his pant leg and revealed the curious leg beneath. She crouched down and let her eyes roam over it. The creative side of her was already trying to figure out every aspect and break it dow in her head, but all that came out was, "That's so interesting! Y'know...minus the loss of limb. Magical construct I assume?" She climbed to her feet and looked towards the forest.
"If you'd be willing ot help. I'd very much appreciate i----" She was cut off as he took her hand and lead her off. Well alright then, apparently he was helping! She hurried along into the wood.
"The clearing is not so far off."

He watched her tussle her hair nodding as she requested going to temple of light the check first. At least he wouldn’t have to go to Blackthorn, was all he could think. “yes well.. after living a life as a slave you tend to turn around and want to help others once your free.” He shrugged as he saw it as no big deal and just how things should be. He could see the look on her face changing but didn’t question it, noting the look to the temple and wonder if perhaps she was egger to return or nervous to be going back.
He chucked a bit as she thanks him for the comforting words “oh indeed, some births are far more unpleasant than others. Then again I have seen pregnancies where the child just appears in the mothers arms with no fuss or ceremony” he shrugged. Smirking a bit as she dust herself off and those ears on his head disappeared from view back into his hair.
“that does sound like a though one.. I have two children of my own and I can’t say that I wouldn’t tear the earth apart trying to find them if they went missing” he admitted, though he looked too young to be a father she would know from her own looks that this was not everything of course. “I would think they would be mad and glad to see you. Mad that you disappeared and they couldn’t find you and glad that you are back and alive.” he told her, shifting where he had been standing as he talked.
He blinked a bit a her reaction of that’s interesting “well.. at least it’s not a scream or a girl fainting” He giggled, noticing how keen an interest she had in it. It was definetly a fine bit of work as the medal was sooth and curved in ways medal should not. Being close to it she could could feel a bit of the magic from it and it would taste like iron on the air a soft hum coming from it. the engraving work done making the leg look more like it should be a bit of art put out for display rather than helping this boy walk around. He nodded to the question “yes and putting it in place nearly killed me but then.. well I wasn’t exactly living before” he frowned, remembering just how hard it had been when he first came to Tyran.
He had been sick and only missing half the leg then and no mater who he received help from, in the end all other false legs just frustrated and hurt him. Then he lost the rest of the leg in a manner.. it was too gory of a tale even for memory sake and he just got this distance look in his eyes before he shook it off.
He walked with her hand and hand towards to clearing, those ears coming and going from view as he sniffed the air and followed her scent back to it. “Oh. not sure if I said.. but well ..I’m a kitsune..I don’t normally show people or tell people that but I figure since you can change into a panther your not about to look down on me for that like others do.” he said, not because she had asked but because he felt he should explain the ears.

Rhemi frowned a bit at his words. Life as a slave. She could only imagine what that was like. She had lived a fairly decent life so far in every regard. Sort of. Unless you counted getting trapped in a different world, separated from all you knew and being forced to grow up without your parents. Alright, Maybe she understood the crappy mentality at least a little bit. She tilted her head a bit at the others non-chalance at the subject. She shrugged a little. She wouldn't read into it all that much since he seemed so unphased by it. Did she really need to?
"I do wonder if thats how I ended up here." She'd never really inquired on how she had come to be with two mothers and no father. Had she been the product of magic? Or perhaps of some otherworldly force? One of her mothers WAS a goddess after all. She grunted and rubbed her temples. THis was not what she needed to be thinking about right now. At all. Her eyes watched as his ears dissapeared into his hair again like some sort of pointy groundhogs. How strange. Perhaps he was a shapeshifter as well, that'd be nice to meet another like her.
"The difference is that one of my mothers could actually tear the earth apart." She frowned a little bit and laughed lightly. She imagined the two days of her dissapearance had at least worried the pair of them along with Lily. She didn't ask about how he looked to young to be a dad. She'd learned long ago that look did not necessarily represent age. After all, her best friend Lily only looked sixteen and was several centuries old already. She nodded in agreeance with the mans kind words, "Still doesn't mean it will be any less awkward of a conversation."
"Well, I've learned much of magic in my years elsewhere. Constructs such as these fascinate me, only because they are such a rare thing where I came from." Magic itself was a rarity, to see anyone with enough of the energy to make and retain such a construct was something you'd see maybe once in a lifetime. Or at the side of the queen, her guardian had such a similar limb. In fact...this person reminded her a lot of a creature that had hunted her many many moons ago. She cast a curious look upon Sune for a moment before climbing to her feet, pushing round glasses up the bridge of her nose, "Well, at least something unique came of such a grievous injury."
She allowed him to clasp her hand, her own hand smooth and soft. Her skin hadn't been so soft in forever! Her hands had been calloused from years of work and training. How curious a sensation it was. She walked along quietly and glanced over at him, "I got a bit of that impression. It is nice to meet another who is similar to my own race. I appreciate the trust, although you are not required to give it. We are still but strangers." She smiled lightly and looked forwards, "Well, perhaps friends bonded by trauma is a better word." She shrugged helplessly.
It was not so far to the clearing, and a clearing was the best definition. The entire area was grey and dull, even the trees were gray and lifeless. It was like the life had been literally sucked from the area, a small magical construct was on the ground in the center, "This is where I came back through to this world." She said softly.

If Sune talked about his past as if it was nothing it was only because he was very good about making it seem as such to others. Only his family and those closest too him ever really saw what affected it had had on him outside the physical. When he had first come to Tyran he had been only a shell of a man, sick from traveling overseas and still weak from his time in what he called ‘The Pits’. A dark and lonely place where he had been sealed away and left to die until his family had found a way to get him out again. He still had nightmares of that place, waking up in cold sweat screaming, panting and trying to get away as Wulv, woken by the screaming, pulled him in close to them and did their best to sooth and calm the boy. There were even times when he would sleep walk, or crawl in his case, due to the metal stress and end up waking up to find himself in the oddest of locations. Sometimes with a bit of a panic if those places happened to be small and dark. It’s why he liked being a bard so much. Big open spaces with lots of people around all making noise.
He looked to her as they talked and she pondered on how she had come to be. “could be. The goddesses are know for helping those that are not able to conceive on their own to have children. So even to woman could go to one and have a child that was theirs and not have to go getting a man involved.” he said, confirming her thoughts on the matter.
He chuckled as she said one of her mothers could actually tear the earth apart. “Oh? And you think I couldn’t?” he asked, stomping the ground with his metal leg and making the earth shift to move her a bit again. “granted I’m not a god so it would take me longer.. but I think I could do it if I really tried.” he smirked, the red markings glowing again as he used his magic. “No I imagine it won’t be.. “ he chuckled a bit more as her talking about family made him think of some uncomfortable conversations he had yet to have with his own children. He was not looking forward to telling them about the birds and the bees.
“Really Magic rare? Then it is an odd place indeed. Even here in areas of ‘less magic’ I have seem some great things be done that couldn’t be anything more but magic. “ He said, making air quotes with his fingers at the ‘Less Magic’ part. “I’m no sure I would call it an injury…but the in my mind an injury is something that happens by mistake. Never mind though.. I..” he rubbed the back of his neck with the hand not holding the lute “yes.. never mind you are correct” He said and left it at that as he didn’t ant to use the girl be re telling the story of how he had not so accidentally lost the leg.
At the mention of trust the frown that had been on his face when talking of his leg again had changed into a look of concern. “I guess I shouldn’t trust so easily.. just I get the feeling you are no threat to me or this land. Or at least you are not so at the moment. I hope my trust is not misplaced..” he said, wondering if perhaps he had told her too much of himself too easily. His own hand more rough than hers from playing the lute and working the soil back home in Nigh Haven.
they reached the clearing at last and Sune let go of her hand, a gasp escaping his mouth. He couldn’t believe how grey it was and the feeling he got from the earth here… it was like it was dead...
(OOC Note: This has been the most fun I have had in the thread roulette. Thank you to Rhemilya_Vargo for being such an awesome partner for this round. At this point we have mutually agreed to end this story here and move it to a more open thread so that others can join and we can continue the story there.)
