(OOC Note: Continuing from Otherwordly Pursuit TR )
If Sune talked about his past as if it was nothing it was only because he was very good about making it seem as such to others. Only his family and those closest too him ever really saw what affected it had had on him outside the physical. When he had first come to Tyran he had been only a shell of a man, sick from traveling overseas and still weak from his time in what he called ‘The Pits’. A dark and lonely place where he had been sealed away and left to die until his family had found a way to get him out again. He still had nightmares of that place, waking up in cold sweat screaming, panting and trying to get away as Wulv, woken by the screaming, pulled him in close to them and did their best to sooth and calm the boy. There were even times when he would sleep walk, or crawl in his case, due to the metal stress and end up waking up to find himself in the oddest of locations. Sometimes with a bit of a panic if those places happened to be small and dark. It’s why he liked being a bard so much. Big open spaces with lots of people around all making noise.
He looked to her as they talked and she pondered on how she had come to be. “could be. The goddesses are know for helping those that are not able to conceive on their own to have children. So even two woman could go to one and have a child that was theirs and not have to go getting a man involved.” he said, confirming her thoughts on the matter.
He chuckled as she said one of her mothers could actually tear the earth apart. “Oh? And you think I couldn’t?” he asked, stomping the ground with his metal leg and making the earth shift to move her a bit again. “granted I’m not a god so it would take me longer.. but I think I could do it if I really tried.” he smirked, the red markings glowing again as he used his magic. “No I imagine it won’t be.. “ he chuckled a bit more as her talk about family made him think of some uncomfortable conversations he had yet to have with his own children. He was not looking forward to telling them about the birds and the bees.
“Really Magic rare? Then it is an odd place indeed. Even here in areas of ‘less magic’ I have seem some great things be done that couldn’t be anything more but magic. “ He said, making air quotes with his fingers at the ‘Less Magic’ part. “I’m no sure I would call it an injury…but the in my mind an injury is something that happens by mistake. Never mind though.. I..” he rubbed the back of his neck with the hand not holding the lute “yes.. never mind you are correct” He said and left it at that as he didn’t want to upset the girl by re-telling the story of how he had not so accidentally lost the leg.
At the mention of trust the frown changed into a look of concern. “I guess I shouldn’t trust so easily.. just I get the feeling you are no threat to me or this land. Or at least you are not so at the moment. I hope my trust is not misplaced..” he said, wondering if perhaps he had told her too much of himself too easily. His own hand more rough than hers from playing the lute and working the soil back home in Nigh Haven.
they reached the clearing at last and Sune let go of her hand, a gasp escaping his mouth. He couldn’t believe how grey it was and the feeling he got from the earth here… it was like it was dead... "all this..death.." he breathed, seeing the magical construct on the ground and inching towards it.
