The resistance. The last standing force against the Tyran Queen and all the forces at her disposal. It was also the group that took care of and managed the last remaining village with more than ten people in it. The resistance home, known as Haven to those who knew of it was located to the south, within a large hollowed out cavern in the heart of a mountain. The entrance, magically hidden from sight from all who did not know it was there. Was a large gate in the side of the mountain. The city of haven was comprised of makeshift houses built in a circular pattern around a large central crystal which glew with light similar to sunlight and kept the entire cave alight.
Beneath this crystal was the resistance home base, a circular castle-like structure built up around the base of the crystal. The city was bustling with people, those whose homes had been destroyed by the queen and those who had been with the resistance since day one. Today was not unlike any other with the resistance base bustling with activity and at the center of that activity was a man with short, spiky black hair and a proud face marred by a vertical scar that marred his right eye.
He was leaning over a map stretched across a large stone table showing various locations and with figurines representing the queens roving soldiers. The pieces on the map moved of their own volition, magical and expensive tracking spells automatically keeping track of the queens armies.
"She moves forces through the old ruins of the capital city. It makes sense, considering the large magical anomaly that occured there yesterday. Have the scouts obtained any news regarding that?" The black haired man asked in a voice laced with some sort of southern accent.
A man across from him with crisp white hair and a scholarly appearance shook his head as he flipped open a book on the table, "The scouts have brought no reports yet. They seem to have been delayed slightly in the Quarries, Sir Rei." The black haired man, Rei, Sighed gently and stood up to his full height, "Very well. Let me know if anything comes up, Haven could use some good news." The white haired man bowed and hurried out of the room without another word. It seemed every person that came in today was bringing bad news.
Running a resistance and a town was no easy feat. Rei had started it all when the skies had been turned black by the queen. It had started as a group of ten individuals, now the high council of the resistance and city, had their city destroyed by the queens armies. They'd banded together and had brought together countless villages and people who'd lost their homes and using trace pieces of magic had managed to establish Haven within the mountain. Rei was the elected leader of well...everything. So it stung him when all the news coming in was bad.
