RULES AND STUFF Anyone is welcome to make a character to play in Manic's hell.
Any and all permanent changes to Manic's Hell must be run past Manic and his queen Darla. This includes changes made by new generals. Such as building new buildings, digging out trenches and basically anything that would permanently change the terrain or the things found in it.
Non permanent structures like camp sites or other things that can be taken down or removed easily are allowed.
As this is a freeform RPG site I can not keep others from making their own hell, just please make it different from mine where possible.
If you wish to make a thread that is to do with Manic's Hell of your own that is perfectly ok. Just used the #M-Layer (Status) to let others know where you are and if that SL is open or not. Example #M-The 9th Layer (Closed). The M stands for Manic so that if another decides to make a Hell there is no confusion.
Those levels of Hell currently being guarded by NPC's may be challenged and taken over by IC characters. This can be accomplished by challenge them in one of the many games of hell or through combat in the form of dice rolls in the battle room when both participants are on. There are different rules outlined for IC V.S IC Battles laid out bellow.
You may only rule one layer of Hell at a time and must either convince the NPC to take back the roll or find another to take your place if you wish to take over a different layer. I may be willing to allow a player to control more of Hell based on high activity and participation in the game.
While it does state bellow that you must have Mani'c permission to leave Hell I will leave that up to you the player. If you want to say that you have his permission without actually asking him so that your character can come and go that is fine. Just please respect the Six exit destinations that I will lay out and don't just have yourself appear in random places in Tyran.
You do not need to interact with Manic in order to play in his Hell and may play out SL's on the forums or in the room if you like. Just know that if I do see you playing in his Hell I may join in if it's not made clear that it's privet play, so please let me know.
I know this is Hell but please follow the PG 13 guid line and the main rules of Tyran when playing.
I May change rules as I think of other things or problems come up but I will notify all of the changes if that happens.

Battle Info: The person being challenged gets to chose the method of combat.
Methods of combat include, Para, Dice (Tyran rules), Dice (My Rules), demonic games and of course Death Match.
You can find the rules for Dice (Tyran Rules), Para and Death Match HERE
You may still back down if the person you challenge chooses a Death Match.
There should be a reason for your fighting please. My Dice Battle Rules:Both Players start with 100 HP Both roll a D20 (Highest goes first)
First person rolls a d20 to attack (If the result is higher than the dodge then your attack lands)
Second person rolls a D20 to dodge (If the result is higher than the attack then you dodge)
If you both tie then attack lands but you only take half damage as you would have dodged somewhat.
If you hit you roll a D10 to see how much damage you do. (Half the result of the damage roll if both parties tie. Double the damage if the person attacking rolls a nat 20.)
A nat 20 is an automatic hit and double the damage. Also if the attack at the time is specific enough you could break bones. Example: Person A kicks Person B's left knee. Not only would the attack land but damage over 10 when totalled together would break the knee in question.
Now the second person takes their turn to attack and the first person defends.
Go back and forth until hp reach 0 for one or both parties.
If no attack is made during your turn you still roll a D20 to see if the action is successful. The other player may try to stop you with a roll of their own D20. Same rules as state above apply but no damage roll is done in this case and you must re-roll on ties as well.
Escape is possible during combat if you choose. It involves giving up your attack and any other action to flee and you must beat your opponent(s) roll(s). Again it is the same rules as above except that you would re-roll on ties in this case.
Win results in a KO of the loser not death.
Playing out the attacks and the dodges is encouraged
See Bellow for info on Demon Games.

The Hell that Manic ruled over was much like the one spoken of when one mentioning Dante.'s In that it had layers to it and each one had it’s purpose and a general or two to make sure all was running well. To lay it out for any that had not been there before there was:

The Gateway Into Hell
There is more than one way into Hell, The most obvious of these being death of course though if you know the way and have payment for the Ferryman you could still find passage. Since you are not dead though it is likely you will be drooped off in limbo to await the presence of the one you seek.
The only way around this is to have an invitation with the seal of whichever layer of hell it is you wish to go to. You can try to forge such documents at your own risk and peril. For though Manic has changed much, he isn't fool enough to let people just come wandering in to cause trouble. Those caught trust passing will be sent to the 4th layer to face trial and possibly punishment if good reason for the slight is not found.
As for leaving hell, there generally isn't meant to be a way of leaving but since Manic has turned the place more into an establishment for reform such things have been made easier to do long as you go through the correct channels. Exceptions being made for those in his service or of his kin. Generally if you want to exiting hell you will have to seek the permission of the king or his council. Once you obtain his permission he will give you his seal sot that you may go.
At this point you would go to the sixth layer of hell via the river styx or the stair to get to level six. Once there you would be asked to stand on a pentagon shaped dais which will then teleported you to the closest exit point established on earth. There are six dais's in total and all are guarded by some best or other that will not let you through without the seal of the king in hand. Attempting to leave without proper permission will see you sent once again to the forth layer of Hell as will any violent attempt to remove the beast blocking your way.
Keep in mind that any time you wish to use the Ferryman's services you must pay him again. So I hope you are either rich or really like lots of stairs.
The gateway itself is located in a cave deep under the water as a means of keeping just anyone from coming in that isn't already dead. The waters around the cave protected by a ferocious kraken. If you are not dead by the time you reach the door then you might wish you were. Especially if you come uninvited.
For those wishing to seek a meeting with the king on a more political front or as a visitor. The kraken will allow passage when you present either your own official seal or one of the ten seals of Hell.

The River Styx / River of Trails: Most know the River Styx as being the river you take to move onto the other side and while this is somewhat true in this case it is the river that flows all through the many layers of hell and even up into heaven if that is the way you are going. One pays the ferryman and he takes you where you are meant to go, though not always in one trip. Failure to pay results in ending up in Limbo until you pay for passage in the form of work done for General Jinx.
Pay your fee and you may be able to bypass Limbo and move on to face the trials of the river. These are not as hard as they might seem. It plays out like you hear about in stories. Your life flashes before your eyes and in that time you are judged by the ferryman. He then takes you where you are meant to go based on that. Sometimes actual trials are used if it is unclear which path to take. In witch you will be made to think on how you would react to various scenarios. This helping to make the choice as to where to go.The river itself is made up of the tears of lost souls that never managed to leave Limbo or those foolish enough to fall in. Beware the voices and images you see in the river for they only serve to draw you in so you may be consumed next.
Unlike the other layers of hell there is no general. This is the domain of the ferryman, a being that is nothing more than a black cloak that suggests human form and shape. Any attempt at killing the ferryman and take over his boat will only fail as he is not living and also not against just taking your soul for his own uses, whatever those might be.
Keep in mind that any time you wish to use the Ferryman's services you must pay him again. So I hope you are either rich or really like lots of stairs

Limbo or First Layer: A place that often looks like whatever the recently deceased is familiar with. If you grew up in a castle then you would end up in a castle that was identical in every way. You would be able to live here for a long time never realizing that you were dead.
Some that come here get stuck in a loop of living out the last moments of their existence over and over. Limbo is a place in-between places and those that end up here can find ways to return back to the living world in the form of a ghostly figure or angry poltergeist.
To those passing through Limbo it looks a kin to a desert wasteland with no life and only the suggestion of things being there. ghostly outline and voices can be seen and heard but nothing substantial.
Jinx makes sure that everything here runs smoothy and no one interferes too much in another’s Limbo experience. The only way out of limbo is to realize you are dead and be ready to move on from your worldly existence.

The Second Layer / Lust: This layer used to be a place that punished people for giving into the sins of the flesh. It was run by lust and had a never ending wind of wailing souls that blew about. Manic tore these winds of souls apart and sent those involved in consensual sex acts to go work in brothels and strip bars where they could continue enjoying their lustful ways.
For those that had taken part in actual crime and non-consensual sex acts they were sent to the forth layer for further judgment or to fifth level for counselling. The general of this layer is named Molly and she makes sure that all things are run smoothly and deal with any dram or disputes that come up.

The Third Layer / Gluttony:
Manic knew hell was a place to punish those who did wrong but he always asked, did wrong by who’s account? So while he could not convince Cerberus to stop the endless cold rain that fell here he was able to convince the Beast to turn this layer into the lunchroom of hell. His reasoning being that who else would know so well how to cook food then those who so enjoyed it to the point of over indulgence?
Sure it meant giving them places to work and cook that would give them reprieve for the freezing rain waters but then he would always have food to give to his troops and to feed to the beast that roamed the lands. The result being the popping up of many a floating restaurant and fast food joint.
Cerberus remained in charge and was given the oh so important job of general food taster for anything ordered by the king or his family. Spending his days now literally rolling in bacon or helping the fisher men catch the many verities of sea life that live here for that nights menu.

The Fourth Layer / Greed:
This layer was formally a pit of smelting gold but the gold was emptied out and reforged into the coin that is often used as currency down here. There is an exchange booth set up for those that wish to trade earthly coin and gems for Hellion though the exchange rate just might kill you. There is also a bank that is set up much like Gringotts but with greedy souls in charge of the money. It was also where Manic kept his legal teams and court houses. It was the place where those that require further judgment or help with writing a good contract would go. You could also fine Hells version of the stock exchange and a few casinos too. This Particular layer is guarded by a large black and red dragon named Stamos and he does not take kindly to thieves, or those late paying off debts. Often times making them into his lunch without so much as a trial if he is in a particularly fowl mood. The General:

The Fifth Layer / Wrath:
Since Manic had taken over and turned this place into more of a area for reform than damnation he knew he would need a place for those who chose to reform to go. He had the swamp lands cleared away and any still interested in battle were sent to the Seventh layer of Hell.
He set up plans for souls to go to for therapy, rehab, Anger Management, AA and basically anything else you could think of for those that truly want help. The kicker being that once you agreed to go there was no such thing as showing up late or not at all for your appointments. Any who try would find themselves teleported directly to the building where they were signed up at the time. The only way to stop this from happening was to show true signs of reform. Continuously cause problems would get you sent back to the forth layer for re-evaluation and possible punishment if reform was not likely. Other options did included joining the army of Hell too as troubled minds were often more useful in combat.
The Layers General is name Dover and she is a Dryder that doesn’t take any bull from anyone. She can tell when others are lying and is able to move quickly on those eight legs to catch any trying to get away.

The Sixth Layer / Sloth:
Every place with people requires areas to relax, work out, learn and work and that's what you will find here. This is where most of the reformed citizens lived, worked and went to school. It was a place for relaxing and acted like a halfway house for those looking to leave Hell but needing more time to adjust to how things might be different up there. It even has it’s own resorts, Gyms and places of friendly competition so that Demons on their way out can fully acclimate to a different lifestyle.
Bastion Maraschino is the general here as he himself is a half demon not capable or willing to harm others without good cause. The half earning his place to rule here since he was one Manic’s husband and mate. He runs this layer of hell with kind words of encouragement and guidance as no on is perfect and can still need help even years after rehabilitation.

Seventh Layer / Pride
The Labyrinth:
Manic was not able to change everything in Hell as in the end some demons would aways be evil. So it was that the eighth layer stayed much the same. in that there was still the lake of boiling blood full of suffering but there was also now his barracks and training grown of his guard and army.
A large arena was placed here too so that those who wished to could fight each other and fight grate beasts for the entertainment of others. It was not a place for peace or reform but of pride and glory. Below the surface of it all laid the Labyrinth where many a cursed soul wandered aimlessly as they were hunted don by demons and killed only to come back to life and have to do it all again.
The genera for this layer is a Minotaur named Ovid that enjoys both taking part in the gladiator events as well as hunting through the maze for fun.

Eighth Layer / Envy:
The Pit, a place where souls are sent that can not be reformed also where any enemies of Manic are sent. As the name states it is a large bottomless pit of darkness that one is tossed into. Where in they are doomed to fall forever and are torn apart by flying demons only to reform so as to be torn apart again. The pain never dulls and the mind is never allowed rest from the torment. Some souls have chosen to come here as well after the many changes Manic made, not able to accept the path of reform and feeling the need for continued punishment.
It’s general is known only as the Dark Lady and she is the only one the flying vermin will listen to and obey. She has at times tried to take the throne from Manic as she wishes to return Hell to it’s former state but so far has only managed to fail.

The Inner Sanctum / Formerly The Ninurta Abyss
The inner Sanctum was the one and only layer of hell where the river styx did not run. It was a realm almost onto itself as i was quite large. It held a castle made of Obsidian surrounded by lava with but a single path leading to it's doors. This was the place where Manic lived with his wife Darla and newborn Sayden. The inside of the castle holding many a room and servant to the king also held a few secret rooms that only Manic knew off. These were rooms that had once belonged to Asher and contained the most powerful of souls locked up in a variety of jars. Manic did eat souls from time to time but even he did not dare to feast on these as to eat them was to become them. It would mean he would take on their essence, their being and perhaps even their look and nature. It was a fail safe he figured incase he ever found that he was not enough on his own for whatever trouble was presented to him. Aside from this the castle was pretty much what one might expect to find. It had its' large dinning rooms, kitchen, ball room and throne room. With plenty of bedrooms to chose from and more than enough bathrooms for all. There was a study and a nursery along with the servants quarters too. All decorated in a very gothic theme and style. Guards stood watch at the front doors and walked the halls on shift that ere never so similar as to be timed and taken advantage of. Manic never cared much for the gothic theme but then he couldn't complain seeing as he had not build the place but rather taken it over from Amika when she no longer desired to hold the crown. It had been the easiest and perhaps the least violent take over ever as all he did was ask her from the crown and she had given it to him. The woman so consumed of grief that she did not wish to hold onto any reminders of her dead love anymore. His Seal:
