Mordred Vargo was pissed. Why, because he could be. The evidence of his anger lay in the broken twisted bodies that lay splintered and cracked about the grounds of 'Blackthorne Keep'. Mordred had gone to HIS home away from home. The Carrion Lands were getting crowded and he needed space. A fool of a guard tried to stop him and tell him, he was no longer the master of the keep. That guard, hung by the neck, skin flayed, ribs broke open and entrails stinking in the sinking sun. The other guards were just mere casualties that got in his way. He warned them to stand down. They were duty bound and died because of their oath. It was time for the boogeyman to be what he had always been, a force of darkness and contempt. At the precipice of the keep, he stood, gore soaked and in silence. Word would reach his queen of the slaughter and who had committed such atrocities. For at least one hundred yards about the keep, bodies swung from trees, a horrified look about them. Strange fruit, swinging from the old willows ominously

To say Laelia Kaliba was furious would be an understatement. The griffon banked suddenly as she surveyed the bloodshed beneath her. Dead. All dead. Her soldiers. Tyran's soldiers. Their son's friends and guardians. So meaningless. So wasteful.
How dare he. How fucking dare he.
She caught sight of him standing on the roof of the keep and her eyes narrowed. Laelia urged Terryn into a dive and once she was near enough she left from the griffon's back. She impacted the stone and rolled several times until she found her feet. Facing Mordred, she skid backwards several feet with the sound of gravel beneath her boots.
"Mordred Vargo!" She snarled, drawing Starscale from it's sheathe and stalked forward with purposeful movements. The blade of the sword flared brightly, basking the surrounding area with illumination and heat.
Aside from the fury in her icy gaze, her expression was stoic as she swung the blade towards the necromancer's head.

Mordred would let dead white eyes settle upon the Queen as she made her airborne approach to where he waited atop Blackthorne Keep.. He would flare both his arms out wide and then snap his hands backwards at the wrist, whip like, invoking a dark entropic energy that would encase both his left and right hand. Laelia drew her weapon on him and he responded in kind. He had invoked her rage, in so doing he garnered her attention. The Queen, the most plotted, tactful being he knew, had allowed herself to be provoked. He had already won. She in her haste operated alone, free of guards and was now dismounted from her griffon. "Bal al kadir Sin karak!" He spat at her as she skidded to a halt...If she focused on anything other than Mordred she would notice bellow her, the broken dead bodies of the guards and wardens of the keep, begin to spasm and quirk with life. She knew his power, met him on his ground and drew her weapon first. Then her blade arced in his direction. She was more skilled than that. They would dance as only they could. She was more skilled but still extremely swift in her motions. He stepped into the blow allowing 'Starscale' to bite deep into his shoulder...As it struck home, Laelia would find herself mentally assaulted then. A torrent of images, sights and sounds would attempt to rip deep into her conscious mind, possibly disorientating her, causing her to loose focus if her mental barriers were not in place. Her rash actions allowed him this assumption and dictated his acceptance of the strike only to try and return one of his own. The visions she alone would know what they were...the things below began to clamor over themselves as they then sought to scale the tower wanting nothing more than to devour the warm flesh of the queen and violate her very soul if they caught her in their grasp.

Starscale cleaved into Mordred's shoulder and it's searing heat caused flesh to broil and sizzle. The sweet scent of cooked flesh wafted into their nostrils. Mordred would notice instantly the moment the vision assaulted her. Laelia stumbled, nearly losing her footing but never losing the grip on her sword. In response, Starscale renewed its vicious increase in temperature, hot enough to light the clothing it touched on fire.
It made no sense. No damn sense. Her eyes squeezed shut for the briefest of moments before she finally gathered a hold of her senses. "You did all this, just to tell me that?! You absolute bastard!" Laelia shouted and raised her foot in an effort to slam it hard into his stomach. She'd kick him off the damn roof if he wasn't careful.

Mordred would be seen as a burning falling ember. Starcscale flared with heat and rage setting the robes he wore on fire. Contingency spells woven into the now burning fabric would flare to life and cause the mystic properties of the sword to fizzle and the pummel to melt free of her hand, leaving only the blade lodged into his shoulder as he fell. the weapon was encased in his flesh as she kicked him from the roof. Then the scene would go all hazy and Laelia and Mordred would be comfortably seated yes at Blackthorne keep, but not fighting, relaxing having drinks staring into a massive scrying device. Actually pleasant. "See I told you that would happen if you charged in all reckless..."No one but them would know that what was just seen was a mere illusion, a game between the queen and her child's father as they played out a scenario of what if's" He snickered and toasted his glass onto her's, "the kick off the roof a bit much though don't you think?"

Laelia watched the scrying device with amusement as Mordred fell off the building and plummeted towards the ground. "Hmph." She sniffed, raising her glass. "Touche." She liked this little game they were playing. Like chess. So far it seemed they were rather evenly matched. "I'd never pass up an opportunity to kick my enemy off of a roof. It's just so satisfying. Especially if it's you." Remarked dryly with a saucy smirk.
"I lost Starscale in that one though. Not my favourite scenario."

Mordred would shrug, "You know you can't beat me, you don't want to..all reckless.." he snickered, "that's what got you pregnant. "He laughed easily. "Thank you though for coming, you know we needed privacy. The illusion of the dead guards will fade shortly though and they will all wake up, so this must be quick. "You know we can't be seen as actually cordial..and next time don't smile at me as you plummet from the sky and impale a void spawn with your sword..you almost gave us away..." He winked at he her and then grew serious, "What I did show in the vision.." he motioned to the scrying orb..."was truth though...I will be staying here for a day or two. Please tell Zephyr I need to speak with him." She knew now it was time for them to be formal...

"I would want to if you actually killed my soldiers." Something for him to keep in mind. "Ouch." She coughed at the pregnancy comment. Low blow.
She rolled her eyes. "I wasn't smiling. That was a grimace." Laelia replied facetiously with a wave of her hand to indicate she understood his point.
"Thank for telling me all that. Though in truth I want to slap Tyr in the face." To create a child with Monet and then keep the fact from her. Was she just a little bit jealous? Maybe just a touch.
"I will pass along the message to Zephyr. I'm sure he'll be thrilled to have you here, though as you've seen, the decor has changed significantly since you were here last."
"I have information for you as well. About the purpose of the keys."

He sat forward, "and you did smile...Stop acting like you weren't happy to see me and Monet." he snickered and sat back, "I know, Stoic Queen Laelia Kaliba, the grand general always." His tone changed, "don't do that shit again, you matter more to Zephyr than all of Tyran, if anything were to happen to you, do you think me or Monet would not aide him in setting the world on fire?" He waved the comment off..."this is why I asked you here, a mutual exchange of information and a warning...I am going to kill Tyr..." He winked, "and I need your help to do it..."

She had been happy to see them arrive to help in battling the void spawn. But she'd chew off her tongue before admitting that out loud. "That implies I'm the only thing preventing you from setting the world on fire." The corner of her mouth lifted. "I'd like to think I taught all of you better than that, but...perhaps I didn't."
Laelia waved the notion aside. Calidus was a good influence on her. She was better at taking jokes. Not great. But better. But that also meant she tried to tell jokes. Tried, being the operative word.
"Tyr?" She raised a brow. "Why bother?" A curious undertone to her scoffing question.

would grin, "certain things belong to me...Gods nor men will -expletive- with them. Period." He looked her up and down and would grin faintly, "I am the Usurper, this God is trifling, hell his high priest I violated years before he knew divinity. Not to mention his lust for Monet. He is weak, recouping his form under MY roof, how could I be your child's father and the boogeyman if I didn't seize the chance to reassert myself as the rightful one to retain the black kingdom for myself. The poor upstart possessed a doll Laelia and bowed to a pot bellied old shit talker." he laughed, "besides, I need a challenge, these void spawn things, he told me seek to collect the essence of Dreanna and keep him weak..." Mordred broke into laughter.

A grimace crossed Laelia's face at the mention of Amika. Perhaps not the best person to use that choice of words with, but she was soon distracted from the dark thoughts he'd evoked. She couldn't help but snort at the image Mordred painted with his words, hiding her snicker behind the back of her hand. A doll.
"It will be a cold day in hell when Tyr is a challenge for Mordred Vargo. But suppose I'm interested." She gazed at him, canting her head in consideration. "What do you need me for?"

"ban his faith...you are queen the void spawns are a direct result of him and his inability to maintain control. Punish them with death to even mention his name. One by one I will kill all his followers, they will turn from him or face legal death or the boogeyman. You kill a god by killing his followers, Amika will be the first to go, his play thing and object to much...disdain...This thing with this new god is tired."
Mordred stated coldly, "even a god will know to fear mortals and just what we are capable of...they exist because of us...period."

Laelia frowned, folding her arms over her chest. "That presents a moral quandary for me. One one hand, I told Tyr that I would allow people to worship their conscience provided they maintained my law. That said, I deliberately didn't 'deal' with him so that I would not be breaking my word if I reneged."
"The second is that if I ban worship of Tyr, out of fairness I would feel compelled to ban the worship of Sinead. And that is something I cannot do, out of respect and out of sheer practicality for what it would mean to Tyran to do so. Banning worship of Sinead is something I can't do."
Her lips pursed as she watched him, her foot tapping the floor as she silently deliberated. "Convince me, Mordred. You know how my mind works. Make this scenario work for me." She was giving him an opportunity to reframe it in a way Laelia Kaliba would accept. They would see if he was clever enough to do so.

lofted a brow, rose, stalked over to Laelia and violated her space. He backed her into a corner and clutched at her panty line. "Who else would dare even you...The seed is planted and you know the time is right for me to strike." he hovered for a minute in her space, not domineering as he did with most but almost savoring something lost. "You want above all else for me to provide the pretty words that allow me the blame...you have wanted what I have always Laelia, I just admit I want to fu** you and Tyran." He stepped away from her, "so about them keys..." The key refrence would show her that indeed they had control of the situation. "I am the Usurper for a reason my Queen..."

Laelia stiffened, raising her hand and pressing it against his chest firmly, allowing him to come no closer. "I'm not considering this for a petty dare, Mordred. I'm not a child to be pressured into such games. I'm not asking for the words to blame you."
Laelia sighed, shaking her head. "I'm asking for the justification to blame myself." She leaned forward to place her head in her hands for a moment, breathing and thinking.
"Fine." She said, leaning back. She took her glass in her hand and shot back the rest of its contents. "I will outlaw the worship of Tyr in the Capitol. Tyr has lost control and his folly could bring about Tyran's ruin. I see none of his followers attempting to assist with discovering the origin of the Void Spawn or preventing the destruction they have caused. I will no longer provide them with a safe haven in my Capitol."

Mordred would smile deviously, "have i told you how much i truly adore you my queen." his tone was genuine. Tyr violated Monet and thought he could do so simply because Mordred was indisposed. (Hell), it was time for the GOD...-laughable- to Mordred...to realize...somethings...the vargos...let alone. He would make Tyr pay for the violation of his twin, she did say she was tricked. Gods had fallen before to Mordred...another would soon enough. Before he would take his leave he reminded Laelia, "always watching, ever more my queen..." Then was gone.
