Sinead: Sinead was there to speak with the queen before informing the temple of light that they would be involved in the battle. She would make a small mental note about certain preparations after something distracted her. She came to the capital with glamour around her- one would not see the goddess of light, but a half-elf woman. She looked the same, but there was nothing godly about the woman that hid within an emerald coloured cloak. She moved through the front lines - passing by tents of warriors that were anxiously preparing for the worst to come.
Her mind drifted back to a similar time. The first time their city stood on its own, only to have their walls threatened by the old god of evil. How so many of them had to live on the outskirts of the city to protect themselves from destruction. And then there was the symbol that rested on the flaps of his tent. She expected nothing less from the knight.
Sinead entered slowly, her hand shaking ever so slightly. Seeing him scared her, but she tried to hide it. Her hand protectively went over her chest, feeling it pulse against her palm. "Hello, Avaraine. Are you prepared for battle?" She tried to keep her tone level.
Avaraine: The veteran knight smiled as he looked up from the small iron ring that kept the small box of coals from threatening anything else, and diffusing what little smoke they produced away from where he was seated. The mess kit he had been taking his dinner from was placed to the side of the small table that rested in front of the worn cushioned stool. He rose up to greet her, head canting to the side as he found himself incapable of wiping his smile away.
Usually her visits were bittersweet affairs, and in truth- this could be no different. The love they shared, required all of a person- nearly all at least- and a Goddess could not give such a high price. Nor...in fact, could a paladin.
The world owed Sorshonna Devain Dravidian, wherever she was. Her coming to him- had removed the scales from his eyes. He could not remain in Deerford any longer. " To what do I owe this visit, my Beautiful?" He asked, not addressing the obvious. The man looked prepared, one would imagine he usually was.

Sinead: It was impossible to keep her distance, even though she tried telling herself that over and over. She could have simply went to the queen to give her a reply, but instead she found herself in front of him first. Seeing him was important, she justified to herself. What if he died in battle? A little voice inside the back of her head gave mock laugh.
"I was on my way to the capital... and knew you were here." That eerie reminder that she was a goddess. "I wanted to wish you luck while I make my own preparations for battle." Nimble fingers pulled back the hood of her cloak, allowing tresses of auburn brown to spill out around her shoulders. She only wore a simple dress that matched the cloak she wore. The loose fitted material swept along her petite frame until it touched the ground.
Avaraine: " The Queen needs no physical visit." he said almost in a tone that held some measure of taunt. He met her at the first part of the tent, a high enough ceiling to accomadate their heights, and give them a few steps in between each other that he bridged. His hands were bare, no gauntlets or gloves- as he had been taking his meal. The pads of fingers, strong and worn by years of swordplay and combat held a gentle touch against her cheek before smoothing over her flawless skin and sliding long digits over her temple, his hair soon swallowed by the mass of auburn.
" But I did. " He said in admission, drawing the woman whose power was that of the very sun against his frame and meeting her lips without hesitation. What if he died? He needed to make sure he had that one.
A small voice in the back of his head mocked him. If he had known the status of her thoughts, he might've laughed along with it.

Sinead: There was a small wrinkle of her nose as he reminded her of the obvious. All the tension from her body faded when he realized she was there for him. Lips pulled into a smile of relief before they found themselves pressed against his. For a moment she forgot about being in a tent on the front lines of a future battle. Only for a moment.
Her head pulled back slightly, but her hands wrapped around his waist, making sure there wasn't too much distance between them. "I was worried that visiting you would only hurt more..." She was careful to not bring up too much about their situation. "After all of this is over, run away with me?" She was mostly teasing him.
Avaraine: " If you would, I could." He said with a small grin that rang true as he placed his forehead against her own for a moment. For a second he gave himself the time to take in her scent, to enjoy her presence. His lips parted in an exhale of the deep breath he had taken in a heady rush of the goddesses' presence. To him, Sinead was no better nor worse with the enttity that empowered her, so muting such power to him meant little. To him, she had always been divine.
" For a while at least, I've always wondered why we didn't..." Save the pain of seperation, the inevitable reminder that she had given her life to something that for the life of him, didn't seem to need it.
If anything, the world needed Sinead the healer. Sinead the wise woman, Sinead the leader. Sinead the Queen. Sinead the Goddess? Gods, despite what they'd have you believe- seemed to be rather easy to procure- the power that created them changed them- something uniform about them regardless who ascended.

Sinead: "I would... and I think I can." She didn't want to tell him then, but perhaps some hope would help him in battle. Not to mention she liked the idea that he would understand what she tried to do for him. "Or... maybe," the logic of who they were though didn't fade completely.
"You remind me of who I am... the real me." She lifted her hands to gently cup his face. "The person I am meant to be. I can't... I can't give certain parts of me up, but I have found a way that does not require me to leave your side physically. If... If you could compromise with that." Amber hues lingered on his, searching for the answer she wanted.
Her heart was racing, quickening her breath. For the first time in a long time she was scared. She wasn't scared of the threat of the void or Mordred, but with Avaraine she was petrified. She couldn't lose him.
Avaraine: " I don't know what you are asking me, Sinead." He replied not with just confusion, but with interest. What she was getting at was an interesting prospect, but one he couldn't entirely understand quite yet. He needed to get through this battle, and she'd given him hope, but he was suddenly a bit selfish for answers.
"But if you are saying you would like to return to some semblance of a 'real' life.... Then you know I will do whatever it takes to help you. "

Sinead: A hint of a smile formed. "The temple.... the faith needs me, so to speak, as the host. But me and my body are just that... a host. I've found a way to disconnect from it." She couldn't exactly be in two places at once, but she could leave behind the light while her body met with him. "I've given up too much, but I know that I am still needed with the light. If I could do both....?"
She canted her head, wondering if he understood that she could be there with him, but still be a goddess. "I could be here, physically, with you..." Would he take only that part of her?
Avaraine: " The light is no lover of mine. It is a force. Cosmic. Larger than I can ever comprehend, and I've come to know that power intimately. And yet- I would not give half as much to have the Light by my side tomorrow morning, as I would for you." He shook his head incredulous that she viewed this compromise.
" Sinead.... You've worn the crown too long if you think that it defines you to those who truly love you. " He guided her further in towards the stacked cushions and the bedroll for the two of them to sit in some level of comfort. It was meager, but clean and dry.
" If you would be with my, pyhsically. Mentally. You. And left the goddess behind in the temple, where She belongs?" He shrugged his shoulders, " I could ask for nothing more. I have asked, for nothing more. "

Sinead: She nodded now and again as he getting to what she was trying to explain. She always understood his lack of support for the faith. She understood as he did with her need to keep the light close to her heart. Even now, she couldn't fully give it up, mostly because she knew this was part of her and she had a job to do. But he gave her reason to find a way to allow the light to be spread at her command, without her being tied to the temple physically.
She followed him, keeping close even as she sat upon the bedroll. It was a lifestyle she remembered fondly before she became a goddess. She slowly looked around the tent, reminding herself that there was a battle going to happen. All of this could be for nothing.
"Yes. You would have me and I can be there for you in the way I've wanted to for so long."
Avarine: He unbuckled his breastplates bottom straps though he would need further help to get the cuirass off, his tabard removed as well and pulled over his head after he loosened it. Still standing for a moment, he looked down at her, and for a moment committed her face to memory in that moment.
" And I you. " He said, implying just how much he wanted to be with her, for her. "This...other you, this physical you. You would get to live a mortal life again....of a sort, despite you simultaneously being the Goddess?" He asked, obviously needing her help to remove his armor eventually, but not asking for the aid. He had a spell that could snap it back on in a flash, if he needed to.... part of the enchantment of his armor. He didn't want to spend these moments with her incased in mythril and adamantine.

Sinead: Sinead gave a slow nod while gently guiding him towards her so she could help. She met him half way, kneeling while pulling at the rest of the steps that bound his armor to his body. Her movements were deliberately slow, trying to take in the moment but also not rush into any foolish choices.
"I'll lose my powers though, minus a few that I was well practiced in before I ascended." She casually let him in on her plan. "It will take most of what I have to separate. I'll still be aware of what is going on, I just won't physically be in the temple unless I rejoin... myself." She gave out a small laugh. "It's a little confusing, I know. I got the idea from when I was goddess of creation. Part of myself was placed in Enki... It's the same idea, just the temple itself is my source."
The goddess would still thrive, but there would be no mortal woman there to answer the prayers directly. Instead, the followers would have signs to guide them and priests to lean on.
Avaraine: " Sounds like it would be a good idea for you." He said with a nod, she had helped him put on his armor a hundred times before, and helped him take it off- but in truth there time together as lovers had been short, but intense. The passion the two could share....it was something he could never find in another, so he had scarcely tried- a difficult task for a knight seemingly ripped from the fantasy of young women.
His founding by the fey, his annointing by both the light and the ancient magic of the Order- it had lead to a life of great struggle. The idea that the two of them would had the opportunity to be together.... truly together?
" It sounds as though you may wish to adopt a pseudonym. An alias even."

Sinead: For her? She eyed him, shaking her head. "For us..." He was the reason she wanted to do it. Not the only reason, but a big part of the inspiration. "I don't want to fight fate anymore." She removed the breastplate, gingerly placing it next to the bedroll. Suddenly she was very aware of him in front of her. "I've missed this.... not just us together, but the simplicity of it. Even as a goddess, I feel so mortal around you."
Sinead bit her lower lip in thought. "An alias? That is a good idea... Although I'm not sure where to begin in thinking of a secret name." She laughed at the idea, happy in the little moment they could share
Avaraine : He found himself chuckling at the idea s he finished taking off each of the leg pieces and kneeling finally to join her. "Where would you have us live? What would we do? " He asked curious of her wishes, she had put no small amount of thought into this, and while he felt loved by the gesture, he also felt some measure of hope.
Sinead. To call her any other name, would it be the same? Of course. Perhaps he too should fade into obscurity. Few knew him these days, his victories and defeats long since forgotten. " Maybe I should take another name- the two of us take what youth we have left and claim a life... together. Both of us. "

Sinead: One arm wrapped around him, leaning her head against his shoulder as he came to join her on the bedroll. "The elves always called me Eruraina since I lived with them. Although perhaps that might be a little too obvious." Since it was the direct translation of her name in elvish. "Both of us changing our names and running away sounds like a fantasy we were meant to have."
She was thoughtful about where they could live and what they would do. In truth, she had no idea. She didn't plan out that much. "The only thing I'll still be able to do is healing. I suppose we could settle down somewhere and just help where we can?" She couldn't hide her life away in a cabin with him, as wonderful as that did sound. Sinead still needed to help Tyran in some way.
"Where do you see us?"
Avaraine : " Mm." His lips pursed in thought as he pressed his face against the crown of her head. Arms slid around her frame, soon claiming her and pulling her close as she could fit, the perfect way there bodies seemed to meld together. "Raina." he said as if testing out the name, the way it formed on his tongue and left his lips.
" I see us in a place not unlike Deerford. Where our talents can work and grow, where we can do more than pretend. Where the nights give way to lazy mornings." He said, half unwilling to dare such a thing.
" I don't know if putting down the sword is in the cards, but perhaps it could be reduced to only occasionally. "

Sinead: Sinead couldn't help but grin as he spoke her name. She arched a brow, silently questioning him if it was okay. In the end, it was just a name to her... one that could keep others from knowing her identity. At least not beyond the small circle she planned on including in her choice. She too wondered if all of this was even possible... for them to settle in the world they were meant to. She had hope.... "It's not you if you did hang up your duty to Tyran. I think you're right. We can make it happen as soon as the void is defeated." She kissed his cheek affectionately.
Avaraine: He couldn't help but grin like a bit of an idiot at her close affection, the scent of her was so unlike their surroundings- a battle camp poised to fight something most of the soldiers didn't understand. His fingertips brushed through her hair and cradled the back of her scalp, his other hand smoothing over the outer curve of her thigh. " I have missed you so very much, Sinead." He confessed, with something that seemed to be the fading of his concealed sorrow. He had never been honest about that pain, half in pride, half in consideration to her own.

Sinead: A small breath of relief left her. She felt content in his arms every time she visited. And now, she hoped, they didn't have to worry about what would come the morning after. She couldn't give him everything, not yet... but she could try this. A promise that after this battle, they could live something of a normal life.
"I have missed you too." One hand cupped his cheek, slowly leading him closer so that her lips could claim his. This was her moment of victory after years of watching him from the other side.
Avaraine: " I've never been less interested in a battle. This void enemy...the mystery. The fact that it hinges on so many variables..." he shook his head and tried to summon a smile about it. If anything, it seemed to show one truth. He'd much rather be spending his time on this new life.
" Thank you for giving me something beyond this to look forward to...."
