Abigail to keep herself humble, as she had the tendency to indulge herself in the finest things money could buy, would usually walk..even from her manor when she still lived there, was only about an hour half walk to the capital. And from her city, it would be about the same along the coast
However, today was more urgent. Then a simple walk. She decided to fly. She usually didn't ride Peggy, her Pegasus. (Peggy is the name you get when you let young children name things )
She was dressed as she always was to the 9's because well it wouldn't be Abigail if she didn't have a dress for every occasion. Today occasion called steel grey. With Silver thread embroidery going to the skirt to the scene of battle highlighted with orange and red. Her hair braided and weaved in and out of itself to make a complicated pattern in her head that almost looked like a crown.
She landed Peggy in the eastern courtyard. Surprisingly enough despite her fantastic and slightly over the top appearance, she didn't need help getting off her winged steed.
Abigail was expected, and so the pegasus was given leave to land in the palace courtyard. Or the Capital Fortress as many of the people now called it. Though Abi didn't need assistance dismounting, the offer would politely be made nonetheless and her steed would be well taken care of by handlers experienced in managing aerial mounts.
"Her Grace is expecting you." An aid bowed to her and gestured towards the main entrance from the courtyard. "Please follow me." She was led up stone steps and through a set of double doors into the interior of the castle. The stone walls were rather non-descript, but decorated elegantly enough with military-esque motifs. Replicas of well known weapons and armour were placed in strategic areas to draw attention and tapestries and other art depicting famous battles adorned the walls.
Abi was led through a wing of the palace that was reserved for the public during the daytime, private sections cordoned off and guarded to ensure no one crossed those boundaries. Eventually they wound up at a door where the aid knocked sharply and then opened the door. "Your Grace, Queen Abigail of the Trifecta as you instructed." He gestured Abi inside and then closed the door behind her.
The room she found herself in was an office. It was rather spartan in its decor, functional and very Laelia. The High Queen was seated behind a large well organized desk, eyes focused on numerous reports. At the announcement she lifted her eyes to the door and nodded curtly, placing the paper in her hands back on the desk discretely face down before she stood.
"Come in. Please sit." She gestured to the chair on the other side of the desk. It was plush and comfortable. Laelia made her way to the side board where a number of glass decanters and glasses were arranged. "Something to drink?"

Little did people know, that the more stressed Abigail became the mores dressed up. She would become the flashier, it was a defense mechanism for her. If you focused on her 'plumage' then you wouldn't focus on the fear in her eyes. And she felt more confident in dresses like these. She keep her voice steady, it was her emotional armour.
She admired the decoration even though it was not her style..it fit Laelia and her style.
She sat down where instructed "it seems I am only in your office when I am the messenger of terrible news. " she actually looked apologetic. she thought her drink carefully probably more carefully then most. " Anything that is low in alcohol content and fruity." I have heard that Victor has been found, healthy in in good shape, I was very pleased to hear that."
As soon as the drink was made she took a small drink "to be honest Laelia I am nervous, I have been in many battle as Healer and priestess and even a battle cleric, but not as a Leader"
[br
(Laelia ) ]Abigail wore her fashion like armour. Laelia preferred the good old fashioned type. Not nearly so dressed up, she wore simple trousers and a linen tunic belted at her waist. Her only adornment was a silver bracelet at her wrist, and Starscale sheathed at her hip.
"I don't think I would know what to do if people began to come to me with good news." She humour dry and sarcastic, not necessarily understood by most people.
Low alcohol. Fruity. Laelia's brow furrowed out of Abigail's sight before she chose the apricot mead that she so favoured. After pouring two cups, she returned to the desk, offering one to the other woman.
She sat and took a sip from her glass before continuing. "Yes, Victor's recovery has given my family much relief. I understand that you helped my sister when she was wounded. You have my thanks." Her voice was polite, but not particularly...personal.
But Abi's insecure statement at the end changed that. Laelia fixed her with a stare for a long moment, ice blue eyes regarding the woman very carefully. "Do not force yourself into roles you have no experience in. You will only get your people killed." She advised. "If your talent is healing from the sidelines, then that is what you should do. Trust your commanders to advise you and lead during your battles." Her head canted and a pale brow raised. "Do you have any military to speak of?" It may have sounded a touch condescending, but it was a legitimate question with a purpose.

She nodded when she spoke of helping Verity and she did like the drink she even took another sip before speaking
Abigail actually didn't find it condescending but an8 honest question. a She wasn't known for being the military mind of the century.. " Yes, actually I have gone to great lengths to militarize my city. Being attuned to energies I had been feeling a shadow creeping over the land, it didn't didn't feel like the Temples, "
Getting slightly off subject " Which you should visit, I was just absolutely delighted to find out it was was quite welcoming and beautiful. Your nephew, Kieran, assured my safe passage, which I thought was very kind of him. It was the first time I had ever set foot in the other temple "
She cleared her throat " but yes.. I have paladins, battle clerics archer's, ground troops and small navel force and a few seige weapons. I have magic users and battle chemists as well. And of course all kinds if divine and holy spells at my disposal. "
(Laelia ) "Then trust in your officers to build and implement strategies for the battle. I lead men in battle because I have extensive experience. I grew up in the military. I have been leading men since I was fourteen years old." She said matter-of-fact, no ego in her tone. "But even now I consult my commanders for their counsel and if I am elsewhere I trust them to perform without me. Give them free rein to do what needs to be done."
A somewhat bemused expression flitted across Laelia's face. "I have no interest in temples or what they have to offer. I respected Sinead and visited her from time to time because we fought side by side before she became a goddess. I did not revere her because she was a goddess. It's strange to me that a servant of light would even step foot into the temple of darkness."
"Let me give you a piece of advice about my nephew. Kieran is not kind. He plays the game and plays it spectacularly well. If he acts kind, it is because he gets something from it. Is using it to manipulate and exert influence. What better way to corrupt a servant of light than to invite her to the temple of darkness and attempt to convince her that...they really just aren't that bad."

Abi:
She shakes her head " Inwent in behalf of Moria, to find out what had happened to her, and to return her body, I met with Keiran first since he was the one who...what we thought killed her... But I never did get any straight answers. Only that she attacked first in his territory." She wanted explain why she was there " he appeared very regretfull about everything that had happened " it was hard to believe that such a well bred polite and gentlemanly soul could be anything then what he appeared.. Abigail had just accepted that some people were born light and some dark. And some like laelia in the middle
However she did appear to be taking laelias advice to heart. On both subjects. And once she has the chance to think about it some more she would be able to see how keirian had started wrap her in his tail. If she choose to accept in any level she had been manipulated, her pride might not let her.
"Sinead and i grew up in the temple together. We were of age but still babies " she let a smiles case over her features " that was when camien mordred father first made his appearances, to give you time line"
" but a valuable piece of information I do have for you and few ideas i wanted run past you.to get your advice, also it's no secret your family has been dealing with demon for quite sometime..so any advice on him would be helpful also.
(C)/
" when I was building the church of light behind that statue of of the God dennizen is a divine magical.portal that will take you you directly to the house of light. "
" Also as you know my city was built into the mountain it self direct on the coast facing the capital
which means it's only access is by coming up the mountain from behind. Which there is a road wide enough for two carraigess
A a coastal road...or by the sea into the harbor which is located outside the walls.
By my palace on the very top of the mountain beside it, is a tall wizard and alchemist tower, which also an astronomy tower.. If you stand on the top.. You can see in all directions for miles. And unfortunately or fortunately gives you a view directly into the capital "
" i can can give barrels of holy water..and annointing oil if you would like..i plan to.bless my soldiers so their souls can not be harvested and their bodies used against me"
(L)
Laelia's gaze glittered then, diamond hard and her next words were meant to wake Abigail the fuck up from whatever delusions she had been entertaining. "Oh yes." Laelia nodded sagely and then continued with a flippant tone. "He regretted it so much he corrupted her soul and turned her into a Lich." A brow raised. "Oh yes, I just learned that little tidbit this morning."
"And you do realize that my nephew is the one who summoned Asmodeus in the first place." She added, as if the first thing she'd said wasn't bad enough. "Now I don't have a stake in that. Both temples are quite aware that if they chose to bring any of their nonsense into the Capital, I will respond brutally. But I will impress on you for the sake of truth and just...outright common sense. I would be doing you a disservice if I did not attempt to enlighten you. " She appeared somewhat exasperated by Abigail's lack of insight. "Those are the kinds of things you condone when you associate with the temple of darkness, Abigail. And that is just one person's deeds. Consider what the rest of them are all doing."
"I will keep that information in mind should it become necessary and I will accept any holy items you see fit to provide." She turned thoughtful. "Sinead once blessed me so that any man directly under my command could not be reanimated if they did not wish. Back when Mordred and I were...enemies." Her voice trailed off and she fell quiet for a long moment.
She then inhaled sharply. "Asmodeus has been known to my family for a very long time. Back before my father came to Tyran even. Back when the Arisalonian Empire was in its prime. There's no need for me to explain the whole story, it's not truly relevant. But Asmodeus is an Arch Demon, extremely powerful and can never be trusted no matter how charming he can portray himself."

She sat pale in her chair. No amount of her clothing, makeup, hairstyles could hide the fact that she had been utterly and completely
'seduced'
One thing Abigail had managed to avoid almost all her life. He had exploited her weakness in a way that no one else had. The most important one is that Abigail was far too trusting. She had trusted Kieran on everything he said or didn't say.
" that bitch lady grey I gave her my mother's elven shawl that was made by collecting the silk of golden orb spiders over year's, hoping it would give me answers"
Not mentioning Keiran, she couldn't she was too embarrassed. And another weakness Abigail couldn't admit when she was wrong after the core had come back from those revelations she became extremely embarrassed at her behavior, how many times had she defended him.
" may dennizen and the light has mercy on my soul " with that she slugged down the last of her drink like a shot of tequila.
She looked ashamed more the anything else. " Well, this certainly changes things. " Was all she could find herself to mutter. Joining in on the silence she looked extremely uncomfortable..once she was able to regain herself
" those are my weaknesses..laelia charm, vanity.indulgence.
"my city may fall now even more so then I thought before. "
it was the wake-up call she needed..but now she felt more vulnerable than ever before.
" If I am so easily charmed by Keiran...What chance do I have against an archdemon, who deals in the same." #she shook her head
" No my weakness can not define me. "
She took a deep breath
(C)
" I had a few ideas.. I can station some one or you can we both can at the astronomy tower. We should be able to see him coming from miles.. It will allow us details on how fast he moving and the numbers he is sending and what in all he is sending.
" silem and my city Solaris Dawn rest in-between the capital, i am not sure what the isle of light behind you will do..she might go to defend tempeat, and i would not blame her
" But I feel if we three combine we will be much. More successful "
Laelia couldn't imagine what could have possessed Abigail to give a goddess of darkness, whom she didn't even follow, something so sentimental and important to her. For a brief moment Laelia opened her mouth, about to scold the other woman for doing something so ridiculous, but a rare show of mercy blunted her sharp tongue.
"You are far too quick to trust." She said quietly. "To put your faith in people you know you shouldn't. Whose allegiances alone should make you trust their motives. Suspicion is not a bad thing."
"The thing about what the Deon is doing this time around...it's against his previous modes of operation. And it's more than a bit unnerving. The build up makes sense. Amassing forces in secret, using the masses as a weapon against the strong. But the destructive nature of his strategy...how bold it is...Kieran's warning is certainly warranted, our own intelligence supports it. But there is something missing that I just can't seem to pinpoint."
"What can I tell you that will be of use?" She asked rhetorically. "He carries all of the natural archfiend immunities, but as a prince of hell he can also summon multiple types of demons and devils, and can strengthen them beyond their normal parameters. There are no known arcane methods to defeat him, given that he has been pressed into service by many a magic user in the past. We know far more about his strengths than any vulnerabilities. He is simply too old for us to have any reliable intelligence in that regard."

Abigail
She nods as she listens now that her initial shame was oversee could get back the the task at hand
" so immune to posiening bludgeoning.. Slashing anything that is a non magical attack, ..no aracane methods, where is his portal to hell does anyone know?"
(L)Shaking her head, she leaned back in her chair and her demeanor changed, her voice softening. "He is powerful enough...I imagine he can create a gate wherever suits him." She sipped at her mead, staring at her glass with a frown.
"With the sheer number of combatants he is amassing and the threat of attack at various locations, I am unable to devote much in terms of defense to other territories. As much as I may wish to. The Capital must not fall." The center of trade, economy, the largest city and region in Tyran, it could not be left inadequately defended. "I only hope that you have enough food in your stores to feed your people during a siege."
Laelia was not worried about the Capital in that regard. Her entire intention when building the palace and reinforcing defenses around the city were to ensure they could withstand a lengthy siege. And along with that came significant food preparation. But were other territories so prepared? Had they thought ahead in such a way? Laelia just didn't know.
Abi)
She nodded " when building my city.. I made each residence large enough it could hold a few chickens and a cow or pig as well as a garden."
I encourage my people to trade amongst themselves. I also still have all the farms lands from my vast manor healing center. I have been keeping stores for years. Because it is always my goal that everyone be independent and self sufficient as possible. Including myself. The less money i spend. Or that my people spend..means in an keep my healthcare and education free ..in all the years that I have healed. I've never accepted payment for my services "
We also have en endless supply of water from a fresh water from a natural spring that has made water lines in the mountain itself.
" i can always give you food if you feel you can not survive. I heard story once of a man who had a vision of famine that would last 7 years, and before that he would have 7 years of abundance..and so.being smart person he saved and stored enough food to last the 7 years of famine. I have never forgot that story...and it how i have run things. "
