" I think maybe we've had enough now. For today...Do you think maybe we should come back? " He said as he slipped his arms away, his hand reaching up to smooth through her hair, tossing the tresses back. " I'm sure there is a room somewhere that isn't trashed, we'll take some time to get our thoughts out. " he said ushering her out of the room- no matter what, the two would be able to find it within the Ruins the location having an odd draw.

"I think so too." She collected herself wanting nothing more than to leave the room behind. She wasn't sure how to take in the images she saw, perhaps she would consult her parents on them. They would know better than anyone else. "I didn't see my own future... Part of me is glad. I don't know that I want to see it. I did get to see my father though, at peace with Shelzi and their child--- my sister." One thing she figured to be true... Elyn knew that after all this was settled, she was traveling with or without Ardyn. She didn't want to go home with Shelzi and Reign; they deserved to enjoy their moments together as a family. While Elyn knew she would always be part of that family, she was not a little girl anymore needing to follow her father everywhere.

He kept in contact, leading her out soon finding a place for them both to sit, a plush bench that had seen better days in the library that was partially sacked and partially ruined. "So...besides you going in an artifact inspired trance- Did you enjoy the adventure?" he asked looking at her with a sideways glance. His lips had curled into a hesitant smile.
He didn't want to dwell on some magical prophecy, or pictures shown to her minds eye. Ardyn for all his heroism, only really cared about Elyn- and where'd they'd go next.

The sound of laughter showed sign that she was safe. She took a seat on the bench, hoping that when the time came to tell the others, she would remember it all. "It was actually really strange. I feel bad for the person who did this for a living. It was like... I was outside of my body? I couldn't feel it anyways...." Lashes fluttered as she tried to recall it all before turning her attention to him.
"So you were just... in the room? Did you feel anything? See anything?"

"No...just a kind of familiarity. Like I had been around it before." he said with a shrug. He didn't know just how to phrase it, but he also knew the sun would hit the horrizon soon enough. Perhaps that was why he reached over as she came to sit, and pulled her closer. His arm slipping around her waist and guiding her as close as they could be he leaned forward and kissed her cheek before brushing lips against the corner of her ear.
"Just know...that despite what you've seen. I don't have intention to go anywhere. It's you and me...no matter what happens to cities, or anything else. I refuse to believe I found you for nothing."

Their time was limited, Elyn knew this, but she wanted to at least find that familiar comfort she always got from him. Her body turned towards him, wrapping her arms around him. He was warm, as always, and she felt the strange trail of fire his lips left as they brush against her skin. She wasn't sure what the future or the vision would hold, but she wouldn't let it determine anything.
"I'm very content just living in the moment." Her brow leaned against his. "Together, Ardyn. We'll run away and see the world soon, I promise." Soon just meant making sure New Arisalon wasn't going to blow up and her family was no longer being targeted. Besides that? Well... she cared, but the city was nothing compared to her family. As long as they were happy, she was happy. And she was certainly happy with the boy in front of her.

"After today...I'm in no hurry." he said shifting his weight and pulling her over his lap, the guidance allowing her to decide posture and position. His eyes held a softness, a protective determination behind that... but also something very similar to want. IN thirty seconds he had his own epiphany, seen his own visions. While they did not cause him tears, it did remind him not to waste a single kiss. The sun had some time left...
"Right now, I'd just like to taste your lips...and I would be content." He said, hands guiding her to settle against him.

Elyn's body was his to command. She lifted the fabric of the dress in order to straddle him, sitting on his legs. Her hands came to rest at his neck, a thumb brushing along his jaw. She liked this most so she could see him- see everything. She felt her heart racing and there were nerves, but Elyn wore a rather serious expression. Slowly, her hands slid from his neck, trailing over his shoulder and down his chest, and settled on his waist. Her eyes followed her fingers until they stopped. She sought his gaze once more before she leaned forward to press her lips against his.
It started off gentle as if she were testing to see if she could go any further and control herself. When she realized she could, she pushed deeper into the kiss, her tongue gliding along his lower lip. She no longer worried about where the line was or if she could stop things from going too far. She was certain she could control herself mostly because of their time limit.

Perhaps that was why he had initiated, knowing the limitations of their time. Or maybe, he refused to let more worries mar this outing she had so kindly given him. Her serious expression looked remarkably..alluring. While he didn't expect that look to stir him so, Her hands smoothed over musculature that was taut with anticipation, and the feeling of her thighs straddling his own had him willing to submit to his hunger.
As he met her kiss, his hands moved from guiding to exploring on their own- hands which framed either outer curve of her thighs sliding up until they met her waist, one hand dipping low beneath the small of her back, the touch against her derriere tentative at first, before digits applied pressure along the curve.
His lips parted and his tongue met her own amidst the seal of their lips, and he knew that she was his future. Every kiss seemed to confirm it...every smile, every look delivered- the way she had stared at her own fingers as they roamed something he wouldn't forget...he liked that she wanted him. Liked that her touch was so deliberate, nearly possessive.

Elyn's mind focused on everything. She felt the warm trail that came with his wandering hands and how they gently pressed against her body. Every time they kissed, they made a move forward in their little game, and Elyn wasn't one to turn him down. The temple ruins were beautiful, but she certainly enjoyed the idea of exploring their relationship more.
Her body arched forward and fingers tangled themselves in the fabric of his shirt at his waist. Her hands tugged it forward as if she knew there was far too much space between them despite the fact that they were already kissing. Their hips touched, causing her to sigh into the kiss. Her whole body felt far too hot.

His grip at her butt accepted made him finally realise she hadn't been playing around. She was intent on this, as she pulled him forward his other hand found where her gown was hiked up and splayed his hand against her bare thigh. He stirred beneath her, the want that built in his body becoming more and more evident beneath her. The arch of her back drew his hand there from her butt, his hand running caress where her spine met her tailbone and up.
He broke from her kiss, dotting a few kisses along her jawline before one such kiss got close enough to her ear to allow a breathy whisper of encouragement. "I want you, Elyn..." Came the simple admission before his lips landed searing kisses down her throat her body held close. The hand at her thigh moved slowly upward, inch by inch exposing more of sculpted thigh. His shirt gripped in her fingers he wanted off- and without a thought the hand at her thigh moved to pull at the hem of his shirt, their intertwined bodies no doubt requiring her aid.

She was already his in every way. Her breaths were shaky and uncertain, she didn't know what would happen or how... She just knew she wanted him. Her heart jumped every moment his hand found her thigh. They didn't seem to be stopping this time. Not that she was thinking too much on it- her mind too busy on where his hands were.
Her head tipped back a little as his lips moved across her throat. She almost whimpered at the way he asked for her. "I'm yours," she spoke in a heated whisper. Her fingers untangled themselves in order to help him pull his shirt up. She pulled back just far enough to pull the shirt up and over his head, dropping it beside them. Her eyes lingered on his face for a moment, suddenly very aware of everything about him.
They didn't linger for long. Her gaze slowly danced down his body, her hands returning to his chest. She took the moment to feel his bare chest, her hands slowly grazing his skin, and then her mouth soon followed. Elyn pressed her lips gingerly against his shoulder, down his chest, then back up against his collarbone.

The sensation was another thing, not fully expected. Not knowing, meant neither one would rush... the way she took her time was almost as seductive as the way she whispered her answer. He'd move no further, just in case as it was with her gown, at least for now- but his hand free of taking his shirt off went back to her thigh smoothing over the top of her knee and running a long caress against the skin, higher and higher until digits nearly reached her waist and all that was between. Almost...just..almost.
His hand at her back withdrew so he could frame her cheek with his hand in caress and look at her amidst the shafts of light that ripped through the failing roof. His member twitched attention, his restraint having failed at the insistence of her passion and the relentless nature of his own. "Elyn..." he sighed, but nothing else came out before his hand slid from her cheek to her shoulder, then down her back before smoothing over her curves and slipping underneath her gown, soon reaching the back of her thigh. Her skirts spread around them.

She wanted the moment to last and learn everything about him, despite their limit on time. Although she wasn't sure how well this was going to work, she didn't seem to be thinking much about anything besides him. Her eyes were level with his, a questioning look given. If they were going to turn back, now was the time. They continued exploring his face, admiring everything about it. He was so beautiful it had her intoxicated.
She shifted her hips, almost playfully over his as he spoke her name. She wanted more... More of him. "Ardyn," she echoed his name before burying her face into the crook of his neck. Her lips brush along the bare skin there.

His hand upon bare skin, he was drunk with it- and he quickly realized this might pause today, but what they had started wouldn't cease until it was finished. His neck stretched, his head canting to the side to allow her lips access, her breath spilling across his skin. He was there, hands up her dress, so close to all her found himself thinking off each night before slumber, then he felt her shift of her hips and involuntarily leaned forward, despite his masculine role eager to surrender to her wants, her needs, the demands stated with each stroke of her hand, each switch of her hips. "We..uh...ahh..." and that was the most protest he could muster. If her ego needed the boost, there it was. He was so easily controlled in her hands. His hand moved from the curve of her thigh to that of her left cheek, a needful squeeze given to flesh as his hips raised to meet her in her playful movement.

Elyn waited for the protest, she wondered if she should be the one to do it, but she was no longer in control. Her body seemed to know what it needed, and Elyn just went with it. It didn't matter that she never did this before, she seemed to just know. That was all the information she needed in order to keep going. She took in a sharp breath as his hand found her rear. What little space there was between there hips, Elyn's hand found it. She balanced herself by resting her hands right at the edge of his thigh, but she had other reasons for being there. Her thumbs stroked the inside of his thigh and up along the front of his plants. She could feel the outline of his member as she snaked her hands back up to the edge of his pants, playfully tugging on them. "Ardyn," her voice was almost a plea.

The sun was low, and the wards within New Arisalon were triggered. They were needed at worst and in danger of being missed at best. Despite where they were... it ended quickly enough and yet more issues in New Arisalon awaited. It was a while until they both met their separate beds.
***
Ardyn laid in the bed at half past nine, shirtless, half asleep, and wrapped in a sheet from his waist down. He looked up at the high ceiling of his room, far more opulent than what he was used to- and tossed to the right and to the left.
Generally, he was an early riser. His body worked at a kind of optimum efficiency, that being ‘weary’ didn’t happen half as much as it should. It was a discrete kind of magic that added to his unnatural but disarming manner. Today though, he had never felt so strained. He was a bundle of nervous energy, easily thinking over and over how yesterday brought him to a point of no return only to *make* him return.
Goddamned wards.
He hurled the sheet against the wall as he finally rose from the bed stalking to where he took his bath, a deep groan after he exited and entirely too much time talking to himself (silently) in the mirror. Soon enough he exited the room, the inside looking as if someone had thrown a tantrum upon arrival and again upon departure.

For some strange reason, Elyn felt horrible. Or... the reason wasn't really all that strange. Fate was a cruel mistress, leaving her breathless after she jumped away from Ardyn only to tell him that they needed to return home. The sun touched the horizon... and people were looking for them. They parted ways... which was good because Elyn felt rather foolish and horrible.
The next morning wasn't any better as she splashed her face with warm water from a recently drawn bath for her. Her face lingered in her hands, trying not to think about yesterday. Well... After the most embarrassing talk with Shelzi, it would seem her stepmother would get her way and Elyn would remain unbound. If this was how life was going to continued to be, Elyn didn't want to deal with it.
She had her breakfast and found a spot in the library where hopefully no one could find her. Elyn was in the far back corner, surrounded by books she would never have the chance to read. She had one in her hand, but her mind was so lost on the recent vision and the fact that... She shook her head, blushing. She needed to stop thinking about it!

He walked with a near permanent look of irritation, it flirted on occasion with a distracted kind of look where lips turned up in a smile in spite of himself. He couldn't pretend to be too disappointed. The idealist in him could live without, the man in him had trouble recognizing what this restraint was good for.
“I like you.” was starting to seem like an understatement. Poetry aside, she was all he could think about. Which is why he stayed in bed, of course. No need to get up earlier to train, nor read those thick tomes, when he knew he couldn’t concentrate. If he didn’t know better he’d think she had put a hex on him.
Inevitably though, around ten he entered the library, opened a nearby window for air and seated himself in an overstuffed chair content to finish yesterday’s work

The sounds of shuffles in the library always had her lifting her gaze. She would poke her head out from her pile of books and when she saw people who weren't Ardyn, she scowled and went back to hiding. And then he finally did him.
Elyn watched him from behind. She sat on her knees, peering out from behind one of the large shelves to gauge his attitude. He seemed.. annoyed. Rightfully so. Elyn, contrary to popular belief, knew what men were like. And while some women chose to rise about it, she also knew they weren't so different. So if she felt bad, she was certain he did too.
She wanted to talk to him, but she was concerned about the awkward 'what happened yesterday' talk. Elyn didn't want to talk about anything, really. There was also the fact that she knew she couldn't keep taking him away from his studies. Reign was going to find out eventually. She bit her lower lip... he was another one she needed to talk to but didn't want to. Why was everything so awkward?
After her little inner monologue, Elyn figured it was better to be around Ardyn miserable than to not be around him at all. She lifted herself up off the floor, . dusting herself off. If she was going to distract him, she would make him work for it.
Elyn focused on the book he was reading, muttering a spell. Her finger traced letters in the air that then showed up on the page of the book he was reading.
Come find me. Use your magic. - Elyn
And with that, Elyn was seemingly gone.

Ardyn didn’t know what to think at first. Of course he had a dumb smile as immediate response to the note, before he realized he didn’t know how to find her. He didn’t know magic as much as he ‘was’ magic. The difference was far more than semantic. He stood up slowly from the chair and put the book aside, no doubt infuriating the curators and librarian of the vast stacks of books. He placed his hand against the script feeling the texture of the words, like ink scratched upon parchment.
The hunt was something all men enjoyed and he was no different. He couldn't help but grow more and more intrigued as he proceeded through the library unaware of the man who stood upon the second floor, gazing down with a smile. If one hadn't known better you'd think Reign was warming up to the idea.
It was good he didn't know.
Ardyn drew on the magic inherent in his body to let eyes see the unseeable. He was familiar with her, perhaps more than he was familiar with anyone, and he had little trouble seeing where her energy had been. He could follow that trail up until she disappeared and then he quickly realized he'd need to do something else to close the gap.

Elyn left her place in the stacks, moving across the library silently. She didn't leave him totally blind though. She left little marks in certain areas, ones he would have to track using different spells. Meanwhile, Elyn chose to hide in one of the stacks. She wore a smile on her lips, rather impressed with her own little spontaneous game. At least it kept the both of them distracted.
At the spot where she cast her spell, there was a paper that told him the path would show to him under a light.

He chuckled at the display, his interest piqued in the game. Elyn had a way of surprising him. She was so different... he had never enjoyed being wrong more than now. He drew from his pocket a silver coin and with a whisper of "Fiat Lux" it became bathed in a glowing blue light that filled the shadows cast by the tall walls of books. His fingertips held the coin in between them aiming the light here and there.

There was a trail left behind that looked like paint. It lead him down the shelves where another parchment lingered in the books. The small white note had little scribbles on it. Inside of it was a small strand of silver blonde, it sparkled under the light of his coin.
That was too easy. How can you find someone when all they've left behind it a strand of hair. Are you a good tracker, Ardyn? I'm sure you're magic won't fail you... there must be a spell in those big books you've been reading
Elyn was having far too much fun. She didn't know all his abilities, but she knew the ones she learned. Magic, in her mind, had no limits. And if he was lost, the books that surrounded him could be his guide. Elyn slipped through the library unseen, finding her last hiding place to be inside a hidden room off to the side of the library. There was a table set up with books she had picked out earlier- books of poetry and literature she found interesting. For now she picked one up and began to read, waiting to see if Ardyn would even be able to find the door.

It took him about five minutes to recall the spell he had been so inspired by. His spellcraft required some hand holding, and in fact he did pick out the book again. It took a prick of his finger- achieved with a hair pin borrowed from the librarian- his aether tainted blood the perfect spell component for such a thing. He put the drop on the hair, and it the blood burnt up in a sudden flash of azure smoke. The hair went straight like an arrow, and shot off! A golden and silver streak that glowed with it's boosting magic and Ardyn was forced to run to keep up. Soon enough it collided with a door, then backed up sought out what must've been a key hole and shot across the hidden room like an arrow.
Ardyn came in after it after a moments fumble, and closed the door behind him. The hair streaked across the room and feeling almost like the reverse of having a hair pulled, put itself right back in Elyn's hair. Ardyn came through the hidden door not long after.

"Aw," she said as the hair came into the room. A soft sigh following. "That was way too fast..." She put the book down in her lap, watching the door until he entered. Her lips were already formed in the shape of a wide smile. Elyn sat on the edge of the table, one leg crossed over the other. While the one hand balanced the book in her lap, the other was against the table to hold herself up.
"You're far too good at hide and seek.... Remind me to never play with you. I'll never win!" She laughed, glad the game took their minds away from all the stress and the training.

Her coy smile however wide had his own smile in full array. "I'm not that good you just give good clues." he said as he shut the door behind her and moved to greet her, hands meeting her knee propped over the other leg. "What are you reading, beautiful?" He liked that one. A better term of endearment...though in truth he still loved the way her name sounded on his lips. He leaned over their mutual posture to find her lips, planting a kiss at the corner of her mouth nearly to her cheek so innocence could be claimed if accused.

"I was only trying to lead you to her prize..." Her voice was low, almost a whisper since he was close enough. She wore a playful smirk as she spoke it, only to prop open the book to answer his question and tell him the prize. "A book of poetry." Violet hues were playful, despite the emotions she felt earlier. Sure, she was still a little frustrated, but she didn't want to focus on that. She wanted to enjoy what ever moment they could together no matter what happened.
Elyn reopened her book. "Again love, the limb-loosener, rattles me, bittersweet, irresistible, a crawling beast. As a wind in the mountains, assaults an oak, Love shook my breast. You came, Atthis, you did so good You refreshed my heart that was burned by desire Whiter than milk, Fresher than water." Her eyes remained on the page even after she read it. Once upon a time all love poetry sounded the same to her- a bunch of stupid things. Now that she knew what a strange thing romance was, she couldn't get enough.

He was transfixed not just by prose, but by her lips- the burning heat of love proclaimed in passion, in need. "Sappho?" he asked finding himself still close enough that lower tones were far better, her voice an affection as much as anything else. It stoked the furnace of his adoration, his eyes closing by half to consider the prose, the author. While some scholars would say it had little to do with them considering the source, some scholars were stupid. Love is love, and he felt no stronger form of it than this. "Love rattled my mind, like a mountain wind rushing through oak trees..." He said, his hand sliding slow up from her knee to force book into her hand as he took her thigh. "Sappho had amazing works, did she not?"
Her prize. It was a cunning suggestion. Her posture, everything... It seemed so much more..sure. The awkwardness of the world remained, but he was beginning to see how little remained between them. Spending most waking moments together would do that.

She gave a single nod in agreement. While Sappho was not her favourite, she appreciated all lyrics. Art was something Elyn adored, especially since she was not good at it. She could not paint, write, or sing. But she read, she viewed art... she took in all its beauty. All of Ardyn's beauty too. Elyn found herself shutting the book and putting it down beside her. She uncross her legs, tempting him by letting them hang apart as she sat on the table.
"Who is your favourite poet?" The words just blurted out, despite the fact that there was a part of her that wanted to pull him into a kiss. Not yet, she told herself. Although this time she was prepared. One hand lifted from the table, gesturing to the door. The sound was faint, but there was a ward put up and the door seemed to be hidden from sight. Elyn wasn't going to let anyone ruin her moment with Ardyn, even if just a simple conversation took place.
